Central Parking System – Hollywood and Highland Garage

SCAM! There’s a manned kiosk of candy and drinks by the elevator that claims to validate your parking ticket with purchase but it does NOT. By the time you figure this out, you are already driving out of the parking lot and it is not worth your $ 2 to turn around and complain. Just a warning! They need to kick this merchant out for FRAUD!

I stayed at the Loews Hollywood hotel and parked here. I was told that they had high security by someone at the front desk. I wanted to shop for a few hours to kill time for our flight back home. I decided to lock my bag in the trunk thinking it would be safe. Someone broke into our car and stole one of my bags. I lost more than $ 2K dollars worth of items. My Michael Kors tote, LV wallet with my keys attached, iPad, prescription with all my personal information along with my address, beat earphones, some clothes, Gucci sunglasses, and my neck pillow. This all happened in 3 hours! Thank goodness I had my ID with me or else I would not have been able to fly back home! I’m very upset and I learned a lesson. I called the security office but I was told they can’t do any camera reviews or do any research until they hear from a detective afer I do a police report. I called the LAPD and reported all this but this will take over a week. That means I’m never getting it back!!! This ended my trip really bad!
From my experience, this place is not safe. However, if you still choose to park your car here, take everything … I mean EVERYTHING with you!!! If I can give no stars, I would!

Clean and a great place to park if you’re walking around Hollywood. Yes, it’s expensive, but find me a place to park in LA that isn’t. Most businesses valid so use that to your advantage…

Easy to find, good price — just make sure you know exactly where you parked as it’s huge and you might spend 20 minutes trying to relocate your vehicle!

This should be a five star review because there is a lot of parking, and it is only two bucks if you’re validated… but It took me more than ONE HOUR and FORTY minutes to get out of the parking lot!
I had a friend who had left about the same time and was home and tucked in bed by the time I got out of the lot, which led me to believe that the situation could have been rectified if one of the 8 parking attendants I saw got into their little carts and directed traffic out the other exit.
The lady in front of me went postal on the parking attendant. That made me feel a little better.
I would have given a minus star if that was available… Thankfully they didn’t even try to charge more than the $ 2 bucks, and the attendant who took the money was very, very apologetic. But still… an hour and a half! UGH!

I parked in this lot again on a Saturday night when I came to see Tron across the street at the El Capitan.

I got a coffee at Dlush, in the Hollywood & Highland complex — to get a validation — so it cost $ 2 for just under 4 hours’ parking (it’s $ 2 for 4 hours, or $ 10/​day).
* Super convenient
* Super close to everything
* A super deal!
I just might come to Hollywood more often if parking is this easy!

If you’re leaving at the end of the night, be prepared to wait at least half an hour to get out, especially if you’re on level P5 or P6. We were unfortunate enough to be just over our 4 hour $ 2 parking validation, and the prepay cashier closed right before we got to the window, cutting off a long line behind us.
Once we got to the exit gate, the boyfriend asked the parking attendant, «Are you going to refund us for the half hour it took to get up here?» To which the lady replied, «It’s whatever the machine tells me.» Thanks.
We ended up paying $ 3 extra to wait in a long ass line ($ 1 for every 20 minutes). There are no prepay machines on any level, so you’re pretty much f*cked. At least we were entertained by some kids blasting techno and people honking, dancing in their cars, and hanging out their windows.
Stop ripping people off and get some prepay machines like Beverly Center.

Ok tourists, pay attention because if you follow a few simple rules, you will find this parking lot much more enjoyable and make life easier for those of us who park here every day for work.
1) There are SIX levels! Most of the time, Level 5 and 6 have tons of parking right next to the escalators. Stop stalking people on levels 3 and 4 because you will almost never find a spot there and you’re causing a massive pile up behind you!
2) Get validation. This place is expensive but validation will knock your fee down to $ 2 if you’re here for less than a few hours.
3) If you have not prepaid, do NOT attempt to use the unmanned gates because you’ll block those of us with keycards.
4) The escalators are not rides. If your corn fed ass is too lazy to walk up them, then at least stand to the right and leave a passing lane for those of us in a hurry.
5) I don’t know how the malls are set up where you’re from but generally if you go underground to park, the logic is that you go up to the mall. Street is on Level 1, so stop going DOWN after you park. Seriously.
Anyways this place isn’t the best parking lot in the world due to the cost and the ease with which it becomes gridlocked. But it single handedly employs the one-​armed population of LA so it gets points for that.
PS: Remember to tip if you take a picture with a character on the Walk of Fame because they get violent if you don’t. Also don’t inhale too deep because they smell… especially Spider-​man.

Okay for most concerts to the Hollywood Bowl, I use the bus line at Griffith Park, but for some reason this past Saturday it wasn’t running for the Barry Manilow concert (I TOOK MY MOM AS A GIFT), so we opted to the Hollywood & Highland Line, since I’m not a fan of this parking lot since the last time my car got broken into and over $ 500 of stuff was stolen I was hesitant to park here, but hey we went in my mom’s car and she opted to park in the handicap section, which is very convenient! When we entered the structured we needed change for the $ 4 per person round-​trip ride to the bowl and they had a snack shop on the lower level parking lot, which we bought some gum and the young lady was nice enough to validate our parking. My mom was new to the whole bus shuttle adventure so I showed her how it easy it was just to go to the 2^nd floor and walk towards orange street, pass the star line tour office and there will be buses for us to board. It was just as easy when the concert ended and we just have to walk down the hill to our bus… Not only did my mom have a great time being a fanilow. but it was easy to leave Hollywood.
