Tasty tacos & cute guys! I’m there. My brother and I fought over the Chicken w/the green sauce and sour cream. Oh my the food was yummy. And after hours of baking, they were not too heavy and hit the spot. The Camarena staff was cool and just produced tasty tacos. It’s always nice to meet the people behind the apron. Tacos for cupcakes… anytime! Thanks for sharing. Sorry I ate them as soon as I got home, no pics.

It’s SO nice to find something vegetarian in LA withOUT avocado! Their vegi tostada was deeelicious, the rice within was a nice addition as well. but frankly, for indecisive me, the very best part was the limited choices! Silly, but true. Thoughtfully provided tequila-infused-meat recipes as well — what a surprise!

A taco truck with a vegetarian option? Yay! I’m a fan! The vegetarian tostada had rice, beans, lettuce and salsa verde, with or without sour cream. The salsa had a nice flavor without being spicy. I didn’t taste the tequila infusion in the vegetarian food, so I think it was just the meats that were infused with tequila.(I think pork, chicken and beef tacos were also available.) The best part was that the food was free since the truck came to provide us Unilocalers with some treats after a morning of volunteering!

DTLA Artwalk 06−10−10 — DMTB and I went with some friends for DTLA Artwalk this time around. The second truck we encountered is the Camarena Tequila Taco Truck(We stopped off at the Worldfare Bustaurant first). Camarena was handing out free tacos. Ok, sure, why not? Take a bite into the taco — where’s the flavor? Where’s this tequila infused goodness? If it was there, I seriously could not taste it. All I do remember was the cheap lettuce, sour cream, and the tortilla itself falling apart. :\ How in the world do I eat a taco that disintrgrates before I can eat it? Hrm — I guess there’s a reason why free tacos are free — but seriously — Camarena — step it up with the flava — I was missing it.
