I was inspired to write a review after reading the 1-​star review
Gustavo is the man. I have been coming here since moving to koreatown in march. I shopped around and either found places that were either 1) not that good or 2) way too expensive.
Gustavo provides great value and a good haircut. He has always been consistently good even when I switch up my requests (low fade vs combo over vs fohawk)
I did not want to write this review because it will only bring more customers (selfish, I know)… but Gustavo does not deserve that 1-​star review. He treats people with respect and earns his loyalty.

The worst haircut I ever got. Asked him to just clean it up and he takes out a giant chunk. Mirrors are setup so you can’t see what he’s doing. Charged full price to butcher what was supposed to just be a clean up around the neck and ears. … Went back and asked for a refund so I could get fixed, he lies and says the owner is watching him on the security cam. Bad enough to inspire my first Unilocal review.

Love this place. Owner and Barber Gustavo is very professional an passionate about each and every hair cut. I lucked out finding a great shop so close to home at very reasonable cost. $ 13.00 for a comb over fade.

I’ve been to so many Barbershops but none can’t compare to California’s Barbershop. Mr. Gustavo aka «Mr.Gee not only is he a great barber but a great person and a good friend .He’s tha homiee and his prices are very affordable plus he hooks it up with water bottles for the hot weather. Every time I walk in he’s got a good movie for you to watch while getting your cut ! How awesome is that ! If you’re in the area make sure to spot by and get your fresh cut!

I strongly recommend here Gustavo is so passionate of his job he will go to any lengths to satisfy his CUSTOMERS. I was greeted WONDERFUL and he was about to go eat and still took me in. Really kind hearted he makes conversations with you I honestly thought I was I talking to family member. The best service I’ve gotten in my life by a barber. GUYS COME HERE LOL.

I LOVE this barbershop. Gustavo is so humble and he gives the best haircuts. I came here for the first time 4 months ago and I have been coming every week since then. Plus the haircuts are very affordable, you can’t beat $ 13. If you are looking for a nice taper, fade, full cut, groom or shaves, California Barbershop is the place to be cause he does it all. He takes his time and puts love in to every haircut. The owner, Gustavo also expressed the possibility of having the shop open 24⁄7 in the beginning of 2015. I LOVE this shop.

Clean shop great work habita. Good energy and conversation. Gustavo is very friendly and quite a character. Hes hired many barbers in the past but he is the best. Ive been going to him for about 3 years. When I go somewhere else I always come so he can fix my hair. Give him a try. It would be a shame if you miss out.
