Came here before heading to a show at UCB and the service was great. I had fries and an amber ale beer with tacos, rice and beans. So yummy! Will definitely come again.

Great neighborhood Bar! Has valet, fun outgoing Bartender’s along with Good customer service. If they served pizza I would Have given them 4 stars However their chips and Salsa are very tasty . Have an excellent choice Of beer and liquor.

The food here is always disappointing but the ambience is nice. Our server Lauren was very kind and helpful, really excellent. We ordered a salad which was almost completely flavorless and she was so gracious in taking it back and off the bill. She made what would have been frustrating and nice and memorable experience.

Food was dried out or freezer burnt for some dishes. My panini had a chicken bone in it still. The food was mediocre but some dishes we’re good like the cheddar peppers.

Brennan? Was AWESOME! This was my first time here, and the moment we sat down at the bar, he greeted us and was off to the races! He made a fantastic old fashioned, just the way we ordered it(not easy finding a good old fashioned)…and then was on us about water, food, wifi, anything we might have needed! When we were talking about ordering, he got any information we wanted with a smile! He has a great sense of humor and truly makes you feel at home. I highly recommend this bartender, ask for him if you can! Don’t forget to ask about the mystery shot! $ 5 :)

Great place to have some beers and chicken with friends. Semi loud environment but a cool spot. They also have outdoor seating which is nice when it’s great weather!

Wtf!?! I checked to make sure there was dressing on one of the salads and a nice waitress helped me out and showed me that there was dressing on it. As I was walking away one of the cooks yells out at me, «Open your eyes!» Who speaks to their customers this way? Who hires people who treats their customers this way? If the kitchen treats their customers disrectfully, then how do they treat the food? I would almost understand it if I had been rude or harsh in the way I was addressing the waitress but this was just mindless, blatant rudeness. The food was decent, average at best and a waitress apologized for the cook’s behaviour, but I will never step foot in this place again.

Maybe the mistake I made here was not ordering the chicken. I ordered the onion rings(good), a veggie wrap(90% iceberg lettuce), fish tacos(just okay) and a margarita – so bad we sent it back and it was worse after remaking it. If you offer a veggie and vegan wrap, it should taste like something. Stuffing a wrap with iceberg for $ 14 is just insulting, Right next door, the veggie slider is the same price and quite good. Service was understaffed, rushed, disinterested.

The 2016 Unilocal500, Review #127: WHYWAS I HERE: I came here, like so many of my reviews reflect, strictly because it was featured in the opening sequence of the 1996 Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau movie, Swingers. Noting that the movie sequence has not been wrong, each of those businesses has a unique atmosphere and none have been a let down. SERVERPRAISES: Although it was a comfortable evening, I opted to sit inside rather than curbside. The server was Lauren and what a great job she did. I like it when a waitress can tell me what the most popular dishes are and answer other questions about the menu and the business. This is Lauren. I love, love, love non-intrusive wait staff. This too… yeah you guessed it, is Lauren. There are bad waiters/waitresses in this town… You know the ones we have all had and shook our heads at just trying to figure them out. Well, I can’t speak for every employee but, from my experience you won’t find that here. If that doesn’t paint a «must return» canvas, I don’t know what will. WAITINGONFOOD: OK, I do have one issue with this place. Being that I am a man that enjoys a good illusionist, I will say that I have no idea how they were able to take my order and have my food out so fast. This is a compliment to the elbows that are steadily moving back where the kettles are hot and the 30-second shot clock ticks loudly. There are some amazing people back there, obviously. FOODITSELF: Everything I ordered was great. Homemade nachos, Caesar salad, ¼(white) chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, Tennessee BBQ baked beans(vegetarian), chicken chili… I was all smiles at every bite. Even my ginger ale came out with a lime wedge(I didn’t request it but, that really makes the ginger ale… It is almost like they knew me)! MANAGEMENT: I even met the manager, Kenny. What a cool person this man is… If I lived in California I would be a regular here. WHATTODOWITHYOURCAR: Parking here is on the street. I found parking around the corner … a short walk of perhaps a half of a block(this was on Sunday, April 17, 2016, just after dusk). KEEPINGITHUSH-HUSH: If you park on the side streets, please be respectful(volume-wise) to those who live in the area, when returning to your vehicles. NOTE: Kenny, you have a great staff, great food and a great setting… I’m all in. See ya next time.

If you like Rotisserie Chicken, this is the place to check out. They are known for their rotisserie chicken. You can choose what part of the chicken that comes with tortilla: white meat, dark meat, whole chicken, and half chicken. You can choose one side dish: salad, french fries, sauteed vegetables, mash potatoes, etc. Last and most importantly is the dipping sauce that comes with the chicken: chipotle, garlic aioli, ranch, bbq, etc. I ordered the half dark meat for only $ 11. The food portion that comes out was a good side. The chicken was cooked moist enough so that it is easy to pull. But I just wish it had more seasoning like salt or pepper and it was served hot. I’m glad the dish does come with a dipping sauce or I would be very disappointed. The ambience is colorful and a great place to sit outside on a nice warm day. I enjoyed the environment and the staff were friendly and did check on us from time to time. Parking was a bit tough since it was located near a residential area.

What I loved: *The chicken!!! Wow! The seasoning on the skin was perfection. It was sweet and salty at the same time. I am a huge chicken lover, so I know my chicken lol! I come from South Africa where all we eat is rosterie chicken for lunch, it is a big tradition back home — and this chicken here was probably close to the best I’ve had. The skin was crispy and the meat inside was tender and juicy! Big factor for me is if it’s juicy or dry inside because a wood fire grill can easily dry out the chicken but their chef knows how to get it right. The meat was also of high quality, mostly white meat and the portion was huge for the price(half chicken with a side at only $ 11 !!!) *The sides were amazing! The baked bbq beans were perfectly sweet, and not too salty. You could tell they house made it and it wasn’t some can opened bean dish. Yum! The mac n cheese wasn’t bad either it was your standard mac n cheese. *The booth seating was super comfortable, very soft and the leather material was comfortable. *They checked up on refills and the waiter was very attentive. our waiter Chad was awesome; taking care of us and fitting us in when the kitchen was almost closing. Thoughtful things like giving me sauce lids for my to go food, to extra tubs for my side dishes went a long way for us, and I am sure every guest that dines in appreciates that the waiters care here *In a very fancy and safe area of hollywood(hills) What I didn’t love : * The very noisy crowd coming from the bar, there was noone to greet when we entered as the 2 poor waiters were busting their asses off taking the tables. * Couldn’t have a very good conversation over the bar noise and chatter, but however I give it a pass as this place must make most of it’s money off the bar as it was very busy on that side Overall definitely a 5 star experience, It was a very great all around dining experience. Would definitely return with friends probably earlier during the night and not so close to late drinking hours This is a spot with REAL quality comfort /soul food. They have pot pies and whole chickens and baked potatoes. what more could you want?

This bird-themed place is something to CROW about… you’d be CUCKOO not to go. Get it? There’s more, sorry. A perfect place to go before or after a show at UCB Theater next door. Surprisingly unpretentious for the area, it’s a great place for a drink at the bar, though it can be hard to CHAT with all the noise. Dark and romantic, it’s a great place to take a GULL to get a bite to eat. Be warned, it can get very packed, so packed, you might feel a BOOBY or a COCKATOO from people passing you. There’s a waiter above you– DUCK! I prefer the patio for people-watching. HAWK come I didn’t mention the food yet? Well, the menu is pretty interesting but I LOVELOVELOVE the thai chicken bowl with lots of tender white meat, grainy brown rice, veggies, and the Thai chili sauce that goes down sweet but lingers with heat with every SWALLOW. And the place is clean, so you’re unlikely to find a HERON your salad. SWIFT service. And prices are reasonable, you won’t feel like they are ROBIN you blind. OWL be back for sure. You should go. You won’t EGRET it.

Just moved to LA recently and a friend of mine recommended checking this place out. I really enjoyed it! We came on a Friday night and it was crazy packed but we read didn’t have to wait all that long for a table. I had the chicken pot pie with a slice of cornbread. The chicken pot pie was decent. I feel like it’s kinda hard to screw that up. However, I’ve had my fair share of corn bread the last few years living in ATL and it was outstanding!

Love the delivery gal, love the food, and the restaurant itself is great too. This is a good spot. Chicken is awesome. The burger and fries both are average at best. I guess they figure people will just order the chicken primarily. The baked beans are also fantastic. Oh– and the chopped salad is great. Omg they quit delivering. Bummmmmmmed

We had heard so many good things but food was dry to the bone. Rotisserie at Gelson’s next door is 1⁄3rd of the price and much better. Nice outdoor seating though…

This café is conveniently close to the Hollywood hills hiking trails. I came by purely based on the good reviews on Unilocal and the pictures of the chicken looked so good. Luckily, when we arrive it was happy hour. We ordered a few drinks and an appetizer. The beers were good and they came out quickly. The food is another story. I had the ¼ chicken white meat plate. It wasn’t great. Actually it was very dry. There wasn’t even enough dipping sauce to help this poor bird taste better. I figure if your signature dish is going to be chicken, then it should be great. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Also, it costs $ 10. Sorry but if Any place charges that much the least they can do is make sure the«Bird» doesn’t dry out. The service was just ok but that may be because it was busy. I’d say skip this place based on the dry chicken and the prices.

So I got invited by some friends to try this place and hang out. When one of my friends and I arrived there we ordered drinks and we procided to seat with our friends. The server approached us and told us in a rude way: «we gave you a table to eat not to drink». If she had explained this we would’ve gladly followed the policy of the place, but her attitude totally threw us off and personally makes me never come back to this shit hole place.

I ordered a ¼ dark meat chicken with macaroni and a piece of cornbread for delivery. The meat was juicy, perfectly done and fell off the bone. It was a great size as well. The macaroni was good with a peppery bite. The cornbread was sweet but the edges were a bit crisp. I liked it cause it didn’t fall apart and crumble like most corn breads, and it was only $ 1.75. Delivery charge was only $ 3, and it got here in 35 mins… Which is shorter than most delivery places, and it got here hot! My building is hard to find and he said he didn’t have an issue. Im impressed and will order for delivery again!

Came here for a quick dinner before a show. They have a vegan salad, veggie burger, & a veggie wrap. Got a side of curly fries with the artichoke garlic and sweet Thai chili dipping sauces. The artichoke garlic dipping sauce was good, but I’m a huge garlic fan. Wasn’t a fan of the sweet Thai chili sauce. Melissa’s Vegan Bean Salad — $ 7.95 Garbanzo beans, olives, red onion, bell pepper, tomato fresh herbs, light lemon-balsamic vinaigrette on a bed of kale. — SOGOOD, huge portions

This place is so gross and un-hygienic. I got food poisoning eating the crap food from this place. Food poisoning that was so bad I ended up in the hospital. Food poisoning so bad that it resulted in amoebic dysentery. They don’t know how to handle nor prepare food safely. I’m shocked they are still in business. The first time I had food poisoning from there it was the ahi tuna. That food poisoning incident had me in bed for the weekend. I notified the health department. A year later, I gave them another chance. I had a salad. This time I ended up in the hospital, and spent several weeks on antibiotics. If you eat here, you’re taking chances with your health and well being. Avoid it. Oh, and their response when I told them? «Well we don’t believe you». In both cases, it was the ONLY meal I had had that day.

Great food. Unfortunately, the management has a nasty habit of letting non-service dogs into the restaurant. Here’s two of those dogs. You can’t see the Boxer very well, but five minutes ago it was on its hind legs with its paws on the table. Disgusting… and illegal. Last time we’re eating here.

Normally I like birds. It’s a nice neighborhood spot, but this past time I was there a vegan salad was ordered and another plate and the salad had some not so great looking stems of the kale in there… Blackened like mold? … Eh. The salad was lackluster in general — canned garbanzos canned olives… :/disappointed.

Ordered delivery. I got a Mexican Chicken Wrap with a side for around $ 10. Enough food for two meals. The chipotle sauce was great, not too spicy. Side was ceasar salad — best part was the seasoned crutons. My friend had the half chicken, which was smaller than expected but standard tasty chicken. Came with steamed veggies which weren’t extra tasty but good to get some nutrition in. Delivery was quick, there within 30 – 40 minutes on a Thursday night. Unfortunately, a friend of mine had a burger here a few weeks ago and was sick to his stomach right after the meal. Said it was bland and overpriced.

This was the worst food I’ve had at a restaurant since moving to L.A. Our chicken came out«roasted» to ashes and dry. We couldn’t eat the chicken wing because it was simply a charred mess. Next was the tasteless cole slaw. Painfully awful. The curly fries — also tasteless. My mixed drink was nothing to write home about, either. WTF? And to add to the miserable experience, our waitress was a bit passive aggressive. I don’t get HOW this place has the ratings it does. Even for unimaginative fried food, it’s a fail.

A total neighborhood hang in Hollywood on Franklin. Big bar scene with fun peeps to meet. No surprise… they specialize in rotisserie chicken… and they have it hands down. They also have a great ahi tuna dish that is the best value I have found. The bar staff are the best and game day is a lot of fun. They also have a «doggie chicken» take out for $ 2…

Fun spot for basic drinks and filling homestyle food. There is usually a fun lively crowd inside. Been for drinks several times and we always enjoyed it. Ate dinner here once. If you like this style of restaurant it is decent. Not my choice of food honestly, and if it were I have been to the occasional rotisserie chicken place that did wow me. Not wowed here, but it is a more relaxed feel, and lives up to expectations.

This place was really nice all in all, we found this place after our hike at the cahuenga peak and the wisdom tree and also on our way to the Griffith Observatory. We were super hungry, and the food really satisfied our stomach. Food: the chicken reminds me of Sardis chicken back on the east coast in the DMV area, very tender and cooked just right(dark meat all around for me, I got half chicken with sour cream baked potatoes) unfortunately my phone died, so i couldn’t take pictures of the heavenly chicken I had. Service: Our waiter was attentive and friendly(and he was a eye candy, lol) both me and my boyfriend agreed. He reminded us of our old roommate. Price: very reasonable, 10 dollar for the half chicken and one side. Atmosphere: Chill and relaxing, great for drinking and eating with friends, also have outdoor dining. What makes it so good, their dipping sauce for the chicken. get the artichoke garlic sauce. Downside: I wish there are more birds around this area, I live in Torrance, open one here please!

Nice vibe, pleasant staff, average food. Nice for a neighborhood hang, but not a destination by any means. NB They push you pretty hard to leave if you aren’t eating or ordering more food/drinks. Understandable given the location and limited space, but still.

I came here after performing in a show at the UCB Theatre next door, so I was kind of high on life, at that point. Having filled up on a smoothie at the juice place a few doors down before the show, I wasn’t really hungry, but my buddy & fellow performer offered me his half of a BLT sandwich with a side of mac-n-cheese, and I have to say… It was just what I expected. I’m sorry but American comfort food just doesn’t excite me as much as other foods. It was okay, though. Not bad. And the mac-n-cheese was superb. The rotisserie chicken is what these guys are really known for, though, and to be honest, it does look downright delectable. The real reason to come here, though, are the drinks. The first page of their menu is packed with regular beers & other types of alcohol, as well as unique creations of their own. My eyes were immediately drawn to the part of the menu that said ‘Espresso Martini.’ I mean, it’s caffeinated booze! What’s not to love about that?! I loved it so much, in fact, that I ended up ordering two. Thank God, my friend shared his lunch with me. That drink can hit you hard after several minutes if you’re not much of a drinker, so be forewarned. The vibe is pretty chill and the staff can be friendly, if they feel like it, but the prices are a little up there. Drinks are, of course, always pricey, but I really don’t think one should have to pay $ 12+ for something you could have made at home. Hence, the 3 stars. Other than though, this place is pretty chill. Just don’t sit in the sun. On a hot day, it can be murder and WILL kill your meal.
