I rarely leave reviews on Unilocal but Bio Bar deserves one. The salmon salad was the best I’ve ever had for the price hands-down. It is a small location and seems like it’s kind of a hole in the wall but it isn’t it’s a catering service as well so there’s a lot of volume going through with this location and the food is always fresh. Don’t cheat yourself treat yourself. Bio bar for life. Yeow…

New management and new Chef, I retract my previous review. Slow service and overpriced for the quality. Ever since Chef Ryan left the quality has plummeted.

Really miss Chef Ryan and Jeff. I like the new manager but the quality of the food preparation and overall experience at BioBar are no longer notable. I have tried it several times since the new chef and management took over and I have left disappointed each time. Too bad, I used to really adore this place and ate here several times per week.

Pricey but a good healthy option in the land of KFC and Papa John’s in the area. I’ve had a few salads and sandwiches on the menu, and it’s consistently good. The lemonade and coffee drinks aren’t bad either. Highly recommend the quinoa bowl for a lot of veggies and vegetarian protein in there, too. I have been a few times, including on their opening day. Service has improved since then, but it still does take a while to get the menu items. Parking is metered on the street, but I can’t imagine many people going here after work hours.

The good the bad and the ugly. The good. The Avocado Crunch sandwich here is a decent lunch, at least once you add chicken to give it some heft. Aside from the low quality bread the rest of the ingredients go together quite well but they sure do go light on the pesto. The bad. My sandwich lacked almonds and the side salad was pathetic and came alongside a mysterious white liquid. The sandwich lacked heft and would likely not be filling at all without the addition of chicken. The ugly. This place is slow. I waited over 20 minutes for a sandwich with only three other customers in the restaurant. Being«slammed» is not an excuse if you clearly don’t have a full kitchen during lunchtime which, based on the Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm hours is the busiest time. The end. I may actually go back here at some point but it’s hard to recommend a place that takes this long without being busy or delivering an absolutely stellar end product or value(Bay Cities or Diddy Riese).

I’m compelled to write this review as I sit here, still at BioBar. I was walking my dog down Wilshire and felt my body needed some redemption from the pizza I had for lunch. My dog, Cooper, and I walked past BioBar. I thought it was a fitting name for said redemption. The place has a great interior with industrial fixtures and Edison bulbs, paired with bright orange counter tops and seats. I’m not an interior designer or anything, but I’m comfortable here. The music rounds out the atmosphere and good vibes of the people working here. Anyway, I just ordered an acai smoothy from who I think might be the owner, but I’m not sure. He was super nice and helpful in my decision between acai and some green smoothy they offer. The acai is delicious and makes me wish I didn’t have that pizza for lunch, as I would love to try some of the things they have on the menu. In short: very positive vibe and atmosphere, delicious smoothy, and Cooper and I are happy campers. Looking forward to coming back with an appetite. I’ll update with a review when I return. So far so good here at BioBar

I was introduced to BioBar by a yoga friend. I’m so impressed with the quality of the food(everything is tasty, you can’t go wrong!) and the professionalism of the staff is top notch. I’ve met the chefs as well and I have to compliment them on being such a wonderful, warm and welcoming bunch!

Delicious healthy lunch spot. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is very relaxed inside. I had the steak sandwich and it was amazing. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. The smoothies are really good too.

I had a great meal with my boss and co-workers here. They had the Steak sandwich with Chimichirri sauce. They loved it. I had a lightly dressed Chinese chicken salad. Very tasty.

I want to like this place because of the concept, but sadly just don’t see myself ever returning. When you spend 12 dollars on an Avocado Sandwich, you’re probably expecting one that knocks your socks off, or at least nudges one of them. Let me start with the bread — it was basically like Von’s one dollar loaf of wheat bread that was über limp and barely held the sandwich together. Was hoping for some multigrain goodness! Next up… Avocado — the«meat» of the sandwich. Well, I think there was about 1⁄3 of an Avocado. Sad face. It was ripe and tasted good, but I think I deserved at least ½ to almost a whole one. Okay, maybe the rest of the sandwich would make up for the lack of avocado. Well, not really. All that was left were some thinly sliced cucumbers, lettuce and crushed almonds. Guess I didn’t get any sprouts(as listed on the menu). Another sad face. Sliced tomato would have been great, maybe some cheese? Even red onion, red pepper, anything else! The sandwich did come with a side salad. Unfortunately, a side salad consists of ONLY lettuce :(And the vinaigrette dressing was not very tasty. I only tried one thing here(maybe it was the worst things on the menu), but I had to write about it because it was such a letdown. I make a mean Avocado sandwich and I don’t even run a restaurant.

Food here is delish! Made to order, with quality ingredients. I had the spicy salmon salad which was the perfect size and filling. The salmon was probably one of the best salmons I’ve ever had, it was cooked the way salmon should be cooked. The special for the day was a free drink with lunch, and I had the melon mint smoothie, so good. Would definitely eat here again. Lots of healthy options even though their menu is very limited.

For the price, this place really should be better. Review is only for their drinks. Grabbed drinks here while catching up with a friend. I got the mint lemonade, which was on the small side. For the same price and to get more AND better tasting I would recommend walking down to literati café for their lemonade… Friend got a smoothie with apple and something else. Had a few sips and gave up entirely on it. It was badly blended and just didn’t taste good at all

Overpriced, terribly slow service, and without the amazing food to back it up. I ordered the chicken salad aioli sandwich, waited 20 minutes, and when it finally came out(in a huge plastic box that’s not very sustainable I might add) I was given a pretentious speech about how they are mindful of what plastics are they give out so if I don’t need a knife I shouldn’t take one. «Ok» I thought, for $ 11 this sandwich will probably knock my tits off… It was the most below average chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever had. The bread is like the whole wheat version of wonder bread and gets all floppy when you pick it up. The lemonade, as someone else mentioned, is pure sugar water with lemon flavor. Extra star for trying to do something good for the planet.

I guess it was an off afternoon. Tuna sandwich was mayonnaise with a spoonful of tuna. Kale salad was nothing special lemonade was sugar water no mint. I know all the other reviews were high but this was my experience not returning

I come here 1 – 2 times per week and it’s not nearly enough. I’ve been loyal to the sub until today, the glorious day when I got the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich. It was literally better than I dreamed it would be. Kudos to you, Chef!

Been looking for a good organic sustainable food joint around my office. I’ve only had the kale Caesar but it was great. I’m excited to have you in the neighborhood!

Delicious! New Farm Fresh(very high quality ingredients!) spot opened up near the office. I highly recommend and encourage anyone reading this to check them out. Super healthy, fresh, and tasty! Atmosphere & Staff — Very friendly and accommodating to requests. The place was very quaint, had nice music, and had delicious free cucumber mint water. Food — 6⁄5. Outstanding. Quality certainly above the price point. I had a ½ soup ½ salad. Soup was a zucchini & potato(and other veges) with a very robust and deep broth. Salad was the detox salad with different greens, sprouts, fresh fruit, dry fruit, nuts, and a blueberry dressing(had to ask for more of this since it was very lightly coated). I added the spiced salmon which was amazingly fresh, cooked with a perfectly seared crispy skin and blackened just the right amount. Only small complaint is the speed of service. A little slow during lunch but they only have 2 guys working at the moment. I’m sure as they work the growing pains out they will have lunch service on lock. Best of luck! I will be back soon for sure.

A new fresh place with organic food! The roasted organic chicken entrée was so big. I thought I won’t be able to finish on my own. Yum! It was so good I managed to kill the whole meal all by myself, even the side and salad. People working here are incredibly nice. I can totally see how I could be spoiled in no time by the biobars healthy food and amazing service! Highly recommended!

Biobar just opened a few doors down from where I work and I have been there a whopping 5 times in 2 weeks for lunch. The menu is limited(The chef said they are refining it and will possibly add breakfast as well if there is demand) but what is on that menu is VERY good. I would basically call these gourmet sandwiches as not adding something to classify them would seem like a disservice. My favorites are the BLT& the Bio Bar Sub Sandwich. One of my co-workers LOVES the salads. Do yourself a favor and try them out. I personally like the food and staff enough to continue ordering to support them and make sure they are here as long as I eat sandwiches!!! Note: I have only ordered for take-out. I have never eaten inside as it is a slightly smaller restaurant and I work on the same block. So I cannot comment on the Eat-in experience.
