Place is clean, food is good and so is the price BUT the service is borderline terrible maybe they were just having a busy day but still wasn’t a good excuse for a very poor service. Would come back but still prefer Full House than this place anytime

went on a bit of adventure and came across ABC. walked in a bit hesitant and was warmly greeted. we got the orange chicken and the chow fun(dry). also got the egg flower soup… almost hard to stop eating, it was so good. even better was when the left overs were just as good for lunch the following day.

Really bad service I had asked for water four times and it still hasn’t come. Our server seem like he didn’t care what so ever and the food isn’t fresh at all. The food is cold and tasted like they just microwave the leftovers from the other day and when the check came it was pretty expensive for the quality of the food. Never coming here again.

I swung in today while I was walking around Chinatown and grabbed an order of siu mai and a small chicken teriyaki to go. The chicken was just what I needed and the sui mai were big meaty delicious, and with five in an order, was probably a bit heavy for a «light lunch,» but I’m not complaining. I’ve only been to the small take out area on New High St, so I can’t say how it is to dine in, but when I lived in town, this was my go-to spot for dim sum take out. I’d grab a huge to go bag full of all sorts of goodies, and take it down to the beach to enjoy with my Chinese girlfriend as we tanned away the weekend. The take out area has been remodeled since I had been last, and everything looked fantastic. I was glad to see that they still had the full birds that hang in many restaurant windows in Chinatown, as those were an every week part of my order. I highly suggest that you try the full chicken and have them cut it up for you. Pick the white one, it’s called salt chicken, or something to that effect… just point if they don’t understand what you’re looking for. It’s the one that looks the least appealing, but you’ll be in for a flavor explosion like nothing you’ve ever had. Be sure they give you for the sauce that comes with that bird because it’s fantastic but hard to describe, beyond it being clear and having, maybe some green onion in it. I’d suggest you request an extra sauce or two because you’ll be dipping into it liberally. ABC is the kind of place I miss so desperately since I moved back east. It’s fast and easy, super satisfying, delicious and very affordable, don’t hesitate, you can’t go wrong.

Asian cuisines use a lot of garlic and onions unless it’s Buddhist vegetarian cuisine. I’m not a fan of garlic and onions but I was flexible about it when I ate at this restaurant. They have a normal restaurant menu and a dim sum menu for dine in as well as a fast food take out part of the restaurant facing the street. I dined in. The restaurant isn’t as big as some other big Chinese restaurants are but I didn’t have to wait for a table anyway. Mixed reviews on the food. Sauteed green beans(with garlic) were tasty and borderline might be too salty for some because it probably had MSG. Orange chicken(with garlic) was good and higher quality than fast food orange chicken. The honey walnut shrimp was good but a little more creamier and saucier than I’d like. Fish filet over pan fried noodles were good except the fish had a subtle bitter taste to it that I couldn’t get over. The custard bun was good but on the firm side instead of being soft and fluffy. It’s not the best Chinese food and it’s not the worst.

I came here right while UCLAUSC game happening and was pleasantly surprised to see they had a giant flat screen tv showcasing the game in the middle of the restaurant. It’s not your typical thing to find at a Chinese restaurant in downtown LA and it was nice. I actually got to enjoy the game will enjoying some yummy delicious food. For that day, we feasted on Pork chop, Beef with oyster sauce, Kung pao chicken, Eggplant and Tofu hot pot. Everything was very tasty. The pork chop was crispy. The Beef with oyster sauce and Kung Pao chicken had good flavoring to the dish. The eggplant dish had a nice sweet kick to it and I loved seeing black mushrooms thrown in the mix of that dish. The tofu hot pot had plenty of veggies in there. The one thing that surprised me though was that there was no lunch special on a Saturday. I found this a little odd for a Chinese restaurant. Overall though, my lunch at ABC Seafood Restaurant was pleasant(and kudos to having a my favorite college football game on ;).

Service was pretty terrible. Probably not intentionally, the waiter was rude and wouldn’t listen fully, he just assumed what we would say. My family had to yell to get their attention. Also the food was cold and overall, super average.

Been here numerous times. Only because my Mom’s friend owns this place and they hang out together. I go just to be with my Mom. Been here on big formal dinners, Yum Cha(dim sim), and casual ones. Like picking up my mother after her casino excursions. Casino bus drop off is nearby. After eating all these meals, my opinion on the food, it is just not good. For perspective, Panda Express at mainstream mall food courts do a better job for the fraction of the price. On a positive note, we get great service. You can guess why. Hint, my Mom is an OG and tips well. Too bad old Chinatown can’t attract good Chinese chiefs anymore.

We came here for lunch and it was surprisingly very good and very reasonably priced. We had the orange chicken, spicy eggplant, fried squid, green beans, and walnut shrimp. They were all very tasty and delicious. There was enough food for 7 – 8 people. Parking is a little tight, but I will definitely be back.

Wow. It is the best restaurant in LA where you can get delicious, fresh and at the same time inexpensive food. Moreover, portions are huge. Months ago I just asked my friend, who lives not far away from Chinatown, where I can eat some lunch and he recommended me ABC. Since then when I pass by Chinatown I always stop by this place for take out. Everything is really tasty, especially CLAMs and chicken teriyaki. Parking are free behind the restaurant.

When needing some inexpensive takeout for lunch, I hop on the DASH from work and head over to ABC in Chinatown. I can only speak for the takeout, I’ve never gone to the sit down restaurant section. I always order Combo B with rice or chow mein and two items. I recommend the Orange and Kung Pao Chicken, both quite tasty. The Chicken Wings and Egg Plant are very good as well. I’ve found their beef to be a little dry. But come with a huge appetite, they really pile the portions on! I also recommend arriving early for lunch; no later then 11:30, because they can get pretty busy. Also beware of the locals that rudely try to cut in front of you. Fortunately, the servers are usually very good about putting them back in their place.

Amazing xiu Mai! Big, fresh, and meaty! Only $ 2.75÷5 big pieces! $ 2⁄6 fried chicken wings! 1.80 for 3 meaty and good steamed pork buns! Meal specially have huge portions! Like at least 3 ppl can eat the $ 5 meal easily! I got the fried calamari, fried pork chop, and xa xiu bbq(red sauce) pork with half rice and half noodles for barely $ 5! They fill both sides of the styrofoam container and smash them together and have to put a rubber band around it to keep it closed! Huge portions! Popular place! Cute little old chinese people go here to eat together so u know its good! I’m from out of town and been wanting to find a hidden gem like this and I was glad I found it! Just a 2 min walk from the Main Street of China town on Broadway! I’d go here again!

Stopped by for a quick bite tonight. Service was great. We ordered the crab soup, boy Choy with garlic sauce, fried tofu and bao buns. The food is all right. It’s not the best and it’s not the worst. If you’re in the area and need a quick fix, then this is a good option.

Haven’t been to this restaurant in a long time, so decided to visit again after years! Came in for dim sum and some lunch specials. Walked in and was greeted politely. Dim sum came out at a normal pace, except a couple dishes came out cold. Told the hostess about the problem and she was persistent on the cold trays to be freshly made from the morning. The food wasn’t all that bad, just expected it to be tastier!

Had lunch here today — yah! They have LUNCHSPECIALS on the weekend! It started at $ 5.25 with 6.25 and 7.25 tiers. We only ordered the friend Sole whole fish, eggplant with ground pork and beef with black bean sauce chow fun + 4 dim sum plates(Har gow, sel my, cha sel bow, and some stuffed pastry my dad wanted) … and it was really pretty good. The dim sum was $ 2.80 for the har gow(shrimp) and a lesser amount for the other dishes! Not bad for price. In fact it was so good we got THREE fried Sole fishes plus another har gow to GO! All together everything came to $ 49! We will definately come back! They have free parking in a small lot in back — room for only about 12 or 16 cars + they have a separate take out area facing the street corner from whom I have purchased a few times. Today was the first time dining in — in a long long time though. TWOTHUMBSUP!!!

We went to ABC Restaurant’s front corner«to go» area where you can buy Dim Sum, BBQ and Roasted Meats, as well as steam tray pre-prepared Chinese food. My receipt says the location is at 205 Ord Street, Los Angeles, CA90012. The service was very friendly and organized. We’d bought dim sum on a Saturday evening, not the smartest decision based on circumstance knowing that typically the Yum Cha hours for dim sum are early toward breakfast/brunch/lunch, so we speculate whatever we bought was prepared for the day and was sitting for a while. I don’t fault the restaurant per se on that either. I don’t expect ‘em to throw the food out nor make a fresh batch hourly or cooked to order either. What I think they could /should do as a happy compromise and enable both customer satisfaction(lowering expectation levels) and increasing revenue is progressively after 2pm or so, start to discount the dim sum or food items that are slow sellers, even maybe just having 50% off or 2 for 1 after 5pm as a simple way go get rid of food inventory and bring in the happy hour bargain shoppers. Dim Sum is best when fresh of course, so I don’t feel right reviewing the food when it wasn’t prepared optimally. However, for the time of day in the evening we ordered Har Gow = Steamed Shrimp Bonnet Steamed Char Siu Bao = BBQ Pork Bun Steamed Chicken Bun Ma T’uan /Jin Deui = Sesame Ball Bok Tong Go = Sweet Steamed Rice Sponge Cake(we used to call it «Jello» in SF) Overall, all edible, nothing spectacular, but with some potential if we’d come early in the morning probably. We also ordered the Siu Yuk = Roast Pig. The secret to ordering items Chinese places sell by the pound is not to order by the pound. Inevitably if you ask for 1 lb, you’ll get 1.25 lbs and end up getting and spending 20%-25% more sometimes even up to 50% more as they just estimate based on the scale as they bring the food in for weighing and ask for your approval. The Siu Yuk was above average and on the rating scale is above good and below great but on the cusp of greatness. The cracklin’ skin was very crispy and retained it’s proper snap whereas many places skin is hard or rubbery. The meat, pork itself wasn’t gamy and not fatty either, so was good quality overall in both appearance and taste. I’d say this is a very reliable«go-to» place to order Siu Yuk. Instead, of saying«Can I have 1 lb of???» say«Can I have $ 10(or name whatever price you want to spend based on the per LB rate) of???» then they’ll know to just weigh in the dollar amount you’re budgeted to spend rather than solicit you to buy more than maybe you want. That’s my advice from my experiences in San Francisco as well as Los Angeles when dealing with Chinese butcher situations. Parking was easy in the evening as Chinatown can be somewhat of a ghost town after dusk. ABC has a back lot on the side street that’s one-way, so a tad difficult to maneuver in and out of spaces and the lot. They have a formal restaurant attached too for sit down meals. I’ve eaten the take out before in the past(my pre-Yelp days) and it’s a reliable place I’d come to if/when convenient and spontaneously if the craving arises. It’s a known quality, not the best nor the worst, just simply«A-OK» and on par with the Los Angeles Chinatown Average and adequately good.

CHEAPESTCHINESEFOODINCHINATOWN(or maybe anywhere in L.A.). Luckily, I work walking distance and for someone on a budget this is definitely a spot to come to for lunch. They have their combos that I always get(combo B). You get to choose rice or chow mein + 2 sides for $ 4.09(INCLUDINGTAX!!!). AMAZING. They HOOKITUP, too! Can’t get better than that. It can last you 2 meals; lunch AND dinner.(I guess it just got better). Better than NBC seafood that’s a block down the street. They have a lot more choices for sides and better tasting, too. Check this place out for a cheap tasty meal!

The date of this review is October 18, 2014 and only for their take-out section of the restaurant. After shopping in Chinatown for a few hours, I needed to fill up the tummy with some grub. I decided to have a bite at the ABC Seafood(take-out) restaurant. Their specialty is the combos: Combo A: Fried Rice/Chowmein/1 item, for $ 2.98 + tax Combo B: Fried Rice/Chowmein/2 items, for $ 3.75 + tax Combo C: Fried Rice/Chowmein/3 items, for $ 4.75 + tax To supplement the rice and chowmein, they have a wide variety of Chinese food that the customer can choose from. On this day, I had the Combo B plus Green Beans and Fried Chicken. The quality of the food was above average considering the low price and the generous portion served. Just be aware no credit cards are accepted, only CASH. I will certainly be back to ABC Seafood when I visit Chinatown the next time!

What can you get for $ 2.99 these days? Not much except here at the express portion of ABC Seafood Restaurant which is separate from the dining room. We were in Chinatown looking for stuff the other day and in a rush found this place since it was quick and hella cheap. It’s cafeteria style here with entrée combos of various dishes of meats and veggies. A one entrée with two sides will run you $ 2.99. Two item $ 3.65. You have a choice of rice either fried or white and noodle, rice noodle, chow fun, or chow mein. One item will run you full since they pack it on. By the way, they won’t give you a glass of water. «We don’t serve water here». So of course you’ll buy a can of soda for $ 1. Nothing is free these days but maybe it’s best but a drink. I wouldn’t say this place looks like it’s the cleanest. What else is next? $ 1 per napkin, $ 5 for a fork, $ 0.50 for soy sauce. $ 10 for a smile. What I did get for free was a nap… Probably from the msg which puts me to sleep. Good night.
