A-1 Burgers

A lot of hype about this place and had higher hopes for the best burgers in Los Angeles. Maybe I just didn’t have the greatest one, but I went with 4 other people and no one was too excited to return unfortunately. I would definitely give it another try however I have had better burgers at other places.

best damn «hood» burger in the LA area. They may be a little slow but damn it is worth it. Prices are below the value of what you get. What I would normally spend $ 30 on at Fatburgers only cost me $ 17 here – a great value for my dollar!

The burgers are sizable, tasty and cheap. The fries are good and cheap. How can the food be so cheap? Because they don’t spend money on anything else.

No customer service.
No hustle.
No plastic.
No décor.
No music.
No smile.
No shade.
No advertising.
No nonsense.

No frills burger stand that makes really good food. What you see is what you get — they don’t have an outside eating area or a parking lot. Know what you want before you order. No debit/​credit card purchases, it’s strictly cash only and it’s worth it. There’s a reason why they have a line of customers.

Pretty good little hole in the wall place. The prices are no bad they have a special «A-​1» which includes burger fries and drink for just under $ 5… The wait after your food is almost like 15 minutes but it’s so worth it !

I love a1 burger you gotta try their tamales. I also like how the prices are so cheap here.

I love their burgers and I have since I was a kid. But the customer service could be a little better. The chili cheese fries were okay but had a strange taste to them. I will still keep coming back for their burgers and fries however!

A1 is an original hood classic. Only window or phone orders, no parking & greasy delicious hamburgers. We get a King Burger Special with cheese & they are usually pretty good. The only reason why I gave 3 stars out of 5 is the fact that I couldn’t fully enjoy my last burger because of the mass amount of grissle I kept biting down on & just because they haven’t done anything about their shady looking exterior. Cloudy ass windows that you could barely see through always make me wonder.

If you want a real hamburger I highly recommend A-​1 burgers. These are fresh and delicious. I had the Cheeseburger that was supposed to come with bacon that’s the reason I didn’t give them 5 stars. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and mayo and mustard. The patty was cooked perfectly! It was delicious and juicy. It takes a while to get your order because everything is cooked to order, but when you get food that’s this good you don’t mind the wait! I tried my husband’s frito pie their chili was very tasty. Now let’s talk about the French fries, you have to put their seasoning salt on them it they have the shaker in the roll around window where they give you your order. I loved it!!! It’s salt and seasonings with celery salt… so yummy!!! My husband ordered the king burger with an egg but they over cooked the egg and the yolk wasn’t runny. He still said it was one of the best burgers he’s ever had. We got two burgers, two fries and two drinks and a frito pie for like $ 11.00 dollars insane.
I highly recommend A-​1 burgers.

It’s cool, an Asian family producing the tastiest burgers! They are situated behind thick plastic windows, and you pick up your food through a small rotating door.
Ahh! Good! I had King cheeseburger combo, the fries were good, but needed some ketchup. The burger was great, very meaty, thick patty, and large diced onion pieces. Very tasty indeed! Of course, it’s 100% pure beef (at least I like to think it is).
After you have your meal — you need a nap!

Great burgers! Hate waiting and screaming my order through their cracked up bullet proof window. Other than that, their food won’t disappoint. Prices are great, food is great. Hit this shit up!

A-​1 has one of the best burgers in town hands down. There burger patties are hand made and seasoned just right. What more could a person ask for. But no matter what burger you order you will get a tasty beefy perfection that will keep you coming back for more.

I’ve been coming here since my childhood! Back in the 90s when $ 5 could get you a combo and you have change coming back. I still come here now and then when I want a good burger from around the way. A1 special with cheese and grilled onions only $ 5.23 including tax. Amazing deal and still tasty.
They’re old school, just burgers and fries, cash only, no call ahead orders so be prepared to wait. Go across the street to the bakery and get some sweets to kill time.

This is one of the best «hood» burgers in LA, from what I’ve tried! My boyfriend had been telling me about these burgers for quite sometime and finally picked one up for me during a visit earlier this year. Given that he had to travel with the burger to bring it back to me, I expected to have to reheat both the burger and fries… NOPE! Everything was still hot, fresh, and dee-​licious! It had the perfect amount of seasoning and condiments on the burger! The fries were also awesome and plentiful! I was sad to find out that they were closed when I got my craving on Christmas Eve during my most recent trip and my schedule for the remaining time didn’t allow for a visit which meant no A-​1 Burger for me until I return again. *cries* However, if you’re in the area and want some good grub, stop thru (while it’s still light out)!

A-​1 burger is one of the best burgers in the neighborhood! Been coming here since my days at Audubon when we use to walk home from school and you could get a bag of fries for $ 1 or a combo for $ 3.85. Well times have changed since the 90’s and the original owner was killed by a senseless act of violence but the business still remains with the family! So an A-​1 special combo will cost about $ 5 and a king burger special will cost about $ 7 and thats still a good deal. The food is fresh, their meat is not those frozen frisbee’s that most places sell. Their menu is simply about burgers! Yea you can get a hot dog from there by why? The line can get imtimidating and trying to find parking can get more intimidating but the burger is worth it! Don’t try to call ahead because they never answer the phone! Don’t forget to get the Strawberry Soda! Enjoy

It’s sometimes hard to find a good burger spot, specially when it’s sort of hidden. But when it’s affordable and just simply good! You can’t go wrong with this A1
Burger special on point!

The line is intimidating but it’s worth the wait. CASH ONLY!!! You can get a burger, fries, and drink for $ 4.58. The fries are overflowing into the bag. Can’t beat that with a baseball bat!!!
Parking– There is ample street parking on either side of the street.
Ambiance– it’s a hole in a wall walk up stand. There is absolutely no seating. There is an awesome bakery across the street where you can pick up some dessert Wednesday– Saturday only.
Customer Service– there isn’t very much of that. It’s more of can I take your order… okay NEXT!!! But you get what you pay for in that department.
