Defiantly reminds me of TAO in the city starting with the wooden doors at the front, my favorite cocktail is the shi breeze and I love how they stay open until 2:30am on Saturday nights. Affordable prices and nice staff!

SHI is my ultimate, dependable go to. Summer roll, wonton soup, taka roll, every 1 – 2 weeks. Delicious, delivered to my door, done and done. Thank you SHI!

Have had dinner at SHI probably close to 10 times over the past few years — sometimes with just one other person, sometimes as part of a group — and I consistently leave with a smile on my face(although that could potentially be partially attributable to the sake, you never know). The atmosphere /ambiance is trendy and fun, and if you get a good table you have a view of the Manhattan skyline across the river, which is awesome. The food is pretty good, although there are some dishes(like the popcorn beef and steak cubes) which are just«OK» in my opinion. The pot stickers and friend wontons make for good appetizers, and some of my favorite dishes include the Red Curry Duck, and General Tso’s Chicken(both very tasty). I am not a huge sushi person myself, but my dining companions have had good experiences with the various rolls they serve at SHI. Prices are reasonable too! Overall, a good restaurant. If you happen to find yourself in LIC, and looking for a cool place to have dinner, it’s worth a visit!

I came here this past Saturday around 11 with some friends for a late dinner. We walked in through two giant iron doors hat looked like they should lead into a castle. We were greeted with a loud crowded dance floor. No reservations, we were told it would be a fifteen minute wait. Not bad. It took a while to get to the bar but four«whiskey smashes» and $ 48.00 dollars later we were led to our table drinks in hand. The drinks were really good and the price was amazing compared to Manhattan prices. The food was AMAZING and very reasonably priced. Overall we spent about $ 200 on two rounds of drinks, appetizers dinner and a birthday dessert that they brought out with a candle. The view was phenomenal. We were seated right next to the window and the dining area was surprisingly quiet considering the dance floor a few feet away. Overall, it was a great time. We will definitely be returning.

My go to in LIC for some bomb Asian fusion. Great drinks, food, apps, dessert. My favorites are yellowtail jalapeño, pineapple chicken fried rice, gantry roll and the the blast roll. The phở is great. The steak cubes. Very fresh assorted sashimi and pretty much everything else is fabulous. Been coming here for almost a decade and am a regular. Never disappointed. Beautiful place in every way, if you sit by the window you can see that money shot skyline — very romantic. I’m the summer it’s awesome to sit outside in the patio and enjoy the weather and of course — THEVIEW. It’s also chill enough to do a casual cocktail in the longer area or at the bar. It’s not cheap for a full dinner so if you are bringing a date — bring the right attitude guys!

Last time Jack D and I came here was upon my request since I was desperately craving Tum Yum soup. After debating whether to go to Jade(another great option for Tum Yum soup lovers) or Shi we decided on Shi. I think Shi is a beautiful restaurant. We ordered some appies and a Chicken entrée to share. Some of my favorite dishes here are the calamari and pineapple fried rice. It’s also a nice place to do a birthday. Not too expensive yet great food and ambiance. Tip: try to make reservations ahead of time or you will be squished somewhere, or worse yet put in a corner.

I’ve been a customer of SHI for about 6 years now, and every time I’ve been very satisfied. Located in one of the most beautiful parts of Queens, floor to ceiling windows give a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline. The décor and ambience is usually subtle yet romantic and fun. Last night was far from subtle… We dined on a Saturday evening(9pm reservation), which there was a live DJ and a crowd celebrating their birthday in the front and the Packers/Cardinals game at the bar. The hostess took a while to seat us since the restaurant was packed; but she was very apologetic and checked on us at the bar regularly. I didn’t mind all the noise and action at all, but if you have a romantic night planned… call ahead. I tried several new things on the menu this time around… Mixed ceviche was more along the lines of sashimi in a light sauce. not what I expected, but tasty nonetheless Raw octopus in Wasabi — I like Wasabi but the flavor profile was a bit overwhelming My husband enjoyed his popcorn beef entrée(I did too, I kept«tasting» from his plate). My cousin loved her red duck curry, and my Vietnamese grilled chicken was pretty good as well. TheMondesir’s Favs: Ambience Affordability Service

Came here on a Saturday night with the guys, on Jan. 3. It’s become somewhat of a tradition after NYE for the past three years, one such tradition we informed the owner, SHI. A guys night out on a cold, windy New York Night. SHI was the perfect spot. Mike, Leo and I sat on the sofas like kings and ordered away. The drinks selected were the Whiskey Smash for the 2 and Lychee Martini for myself. Lychee martini is a must try!!! Great drink. Amongst the revelry and the laughs, the gracious owner decided to have a shot with us and the drink of choice was none other than Jack Honey. Perfect choice of alcohol and sweetness. Goes down smoothly, thanks SHI! The rest of the night was accompanied by the great food. The regulars of the calamari and fried cauliflower. Tuna tartare, Pineapple fried rice and steak cubes. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. The tradition shall go on.

Consistent service & food! They have a wide menu with plenty of options bordering on Thai, Chinese & Japanese. Love their Chicken/Beef Skewers & the Lychee Martini. View & décor is a plus! If you come in during the weeknights it may be a bit of a wait but they have a lovely waiting lounge area that you can opt to have your drinks and food at.

Avoid this place at all costs. I have been going for a while and last night I had ordered chicke lettuce wraps and my lettuce was unwashed with soil left on it. I can just imagine what other stuff remains unwashed at this restaurant. When I called the restaurant to let them know the manager«didn’t have time» to call me back and did not even offer a refund. TRULYDISGUSTING.

Yummy, clean and great service! Attentive, food came out in good timing. I would go back. It’s pretty décor inside and nice views but just nice overall. Great menu, we ordered the popcorn beef, that was the only thing I wasn’t crazy about. It needed more meat, some might say it taste like fried beef batter

Shi is one of the more popular restaurants along Center blvd serving a wide variety of Asian food(incl Japanese, Chinese, and Thai). The interior is chic. It’s a very clean space with modern finishes, and the views of Manhattan from some of the tables along the back window are amazing. In addition, the staff is quite friendly and attentive. For all its success in service, design, and aesthetics, Shi falls short when it comes to the food. It’s decent, but nothing to write home about. The sushi is run of the mill. The rice on the maki was dried out and both the tuna and hamachi smelled a bit too fishy. The Chinese food is just a step above a take out place. The General Tsos Chicken was served to us drowning in pool of overly sweet sauce, while the beef cubes were over done and waaay too salty. Shi management should really focus more on improving the menu and/or recipes because I honestly believe this place has the potential to be great. All that said, if you come here, you’ll love the space and the views, but the food will be more of an afterthought.
