I’ve never actually eaten at BANY’s physical location, but we consistently order takeout from here 2 – 3 times a month. This is my go-to place for sushi! Shi, the other neighborhood alternative, is great for dining in but is considerably more expensive. If you’re looking for some good quality sushi for a steal of a price, this is definitely the place to order from. In our old neighborhood, sushi at our favorite place easily cost my husband and I about $ 100. BANY gives us good sushi for half that price, and we’re full by the time we finish. They are very generous in their servings… the number of pieces wasn’t out of the ordinary, but the first time we ordered from them we were shocked by how fat the sashimi slices were. It’s not my favorite sushi ever, but given their price, location, and how quickly they’ve always delivered to us, we will continue to be repeat customers!

I have never eaten in here, but am a regular with delivery. Really not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. BANY is great with prompt, and I would even say sometimes, super fast, delivery. The food is consistently good and tasty, making this our go-to everytime we crave Japanese at home. The quality for the price is really a pretty damn good deal. The sushi is fresh enough — it’s not bad, nor is it the best because — this is a $$ place. Keep it up, BANY!

This place is terrible. The woman taking my delivery order was rude. She proceeded to chastise me for not including my floor, as she already had my address! She actually hung up on me after verifying my address. Nasty! Now the food comes and there is actually cartilage and bone in my roll!!! I ask the other person who ordered in my office as well if they had it too and they did! Absolutely done with this place. I’ll starve before eating at this dump again.

NIghtmare experience. Brought out a glass of wine with lipstick stains all over it. When I asked for a new one he tried to pour my wine from the dirty glass into the new glass. Then brought out another glass that had MORE lipstick stains all over it. When I said I will just take my food to go he walked away, never once apologized and seemed annoyed that I wanted a clean glass. When I told him that I was upset w be service he proceeded to yell at me that I still had to pay for my food. Which did not even come out despite being the only people in the restaurant. Horrible experience will never ever go back. Wish I could lave zero stars, I made a mistake of not looking at the reviews before I went.

Great sushi! The service is very friendly and the price of sushi was low for that quality

Shitt shitty shitty place… can’t for the life of them get my orders right. Always gives me half cooked brown rice which I was nice about not sending back. I finally had it and called to ask for a re-fund and not only did I not get it what I paid for and picked up since they take so goddamn long to deliver buttttt they said I would have to pay more to get a delivery of the same order and pay additional $ 1.50…all because they F***d up my order. Over an hour wait an not delivery…

BANY is that crummy neighborhood sushi /Asian restaurant. The one you go to for the roll combo at lunch. Unfortunately it’s one of the few here and it’s not that great from that perspective. The secret here though seems to lie with the non-sushi items, which seem to be decent enough when you’re having a craving. I think part of the negative experience is when that craving is for sushi. The sub-par sushi seems to be a somewhat self-induced situation. It feels like they don’t get much business, then hold onto the old rice or slightly past prime fish and then try to sell it to whoever happens to be a customer. Then the cycle repeats with customers parting ways.

So tasty, tofu pad Thai and Tofu deluxe were worth way more than the $ 10 charged. Plus free tea, gracious server and nice atmosphere.

I have only had the takeout but quality has went down. Used to be alright, average cheap sushi but now it’s almost inedible. It’s so oily, why is the whole bottom of the boxes covered in oil after I finish eating??? It’s only raw fish, why is there that much oil? Probably will not order from here again.

I’m sad to say that I’m done with Bany. I have been ordering from them for the past four or five years and this was the last time. 1. Delivery took an hour and a half on a Sunday night at 8pm 2. After taking so long, the rude delivery person demanded more tip from me after I gave him $ 2 on $ 13 order 2. Food taste and quality has gone down — friend rice was awful. Sushi is blah. Tipping is not required and how much I tip is my own business and I should not be bullied into tipping more for poor service. Order from Tuk Tuk or Ahearn instead for Thai or Hibino for Japanese. Or really anywhere else but here.

There’s definitely a shortage of Japanese restaurants in LIC. I decided to give BANY a shot since I was craving sushi… just listen to all the other poor reviews. Stopped by for take out. There was just a single other customer who went in before me for pick up. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to cut one order of sushi and sashimi. Have you ever seen sushi crumble like a cookie? No? Me either until I saw BANY’s rice fall off nearly all the pieces of my sushi, and the rice crumble into little pieces. The miso soup also looked like it came from a package… with teeny tiny perfectly cut squares of tofu that looked like it came to life with water: x Best Asian of New York? Worst Asian of LIC?

I ordered takeout at BANY. I ordered the Spicy Medley Trio(3 rolls of spicy crunchy fish) that came with soup or salad. As someone mentioned before, the Spicy Medley Trip was a bit on the salty side, and was a tad bit sloppy, but that didn’t matter to me as it’s all going into my mouth. It had the right amount of spice(although I am South Asian and my spice tolerance is a bit high), crunch was variable based on the piece. They included a pretty large container of Miso soup too, probably meant for two. They said the order would take 20 minutes, but I came by earlier, and they had it ready. I’m impressed by the menu that seems to offer a wide variety of Asian classics. No complaints, I would order here again.

My son and girlfriend always come here and last night I was just dying for sushi and happened to be in LIC. He suggested this spot and I am rather glad he did. I was a little on the hungry side and it was a bit chilly out, so to start I had the classic hot saki, that went down well! I ordered a tofu salad with jicama which was delightful, shrimp shumi, a spicy girl roll that had spicy yellowtail, salmon, spicy tuna topped with avocado and jalapeño. …spice nice, hot! It was delicious. I also ordered a couple rolls to go, a lobster roll that was amazing(it was one of specials, and it was special), and another spicy combination of assorted rolls. All were really good. The venue itself was pleasant and the staff were really friendly. Overall, it was great and will definately be likely to return with a couple of pals.

Service was spectacular, staff was very friendly and the food was great. I also ordered desert(fried ice cream) loved it! My favorite. I would definitely come back. The place is quiet, very clean and the food is a very good.

All the one star reviews aren’t wrong. Against all the red flags, we ordered some of the very basic food in Asian cuisine, stir fired noodles and fried rice. The noodle was tasteless and frankly did not feel fresh at all. The fried rice was lumped and sticky. The Thai ice tea taste like it’s made from powder, not real iced tea with condense milk. This is take out quality at best and at a pretentious price. There are better options in the neighborhood, there is no need to have bad food.

I’ve ordered from BANY multiple times because of their affordable prices and quick delivery. Their sushi is consistent. It isn’t the best sushi, but it’s good for the prices and plate portions. I’ve gone in for sit down a few times as well. The service is acceptable. As for their lunch specials, I would recommend against it. The chicken is dry and the edamame is tasteless. However, if you’re looking for a place for decent sushi and very affordable prices, BANY is a perfect fit.

Very over-priced for the poor quality of sushi provided at this place. Just recently I ordered several different lunch specials since I work in a nearby office, and the food was edible, but not great or even average(for example, in the case of the three roll lunch special — crunchy rice, soggy nori, and strange smelling salmon). I haven’t dined in this place for a very long time, so I can’t comment on the customer service. I also usually order from BANY online, so I don’t even speak with the person taking orders. Delivery person is amicable.

I’m usually not one to write a terrible review but this restaurant deserves it. II experienced probably the WORST customer service here. Don’t get me wrong, this place used to be great. The food isn’t spectacular but for the area it was ok. Recently though, they have been making a lot of mistakes and they take it out on the customers!!! The first bad encounter I had with them — they kept lying about the delivery time. I had to call up every 10 minutes and the lady was getting mad at me. I wouldn’t be calling so often if she gave an accurate time to begin with Second encounter — I order sushi with soy paper because I cannot eat seaweed. They charge a dollar for soy paper which I oblige to and I tell them I will pay the extra dollar. They sent with seaweed and the lady gave me attitude yet again. I had to wait another 40 minutes for my food and the delivery guy still demanded for the dollar. NOW the last encounter was the worst. They forgot the soy paper again. When we called up, lady gave attitude YETAGAIN and said she saw that we requested soy paper but knew it was a dollar extra… instead of calling up and verifying with us, she sent it out with seaweed. When we called up, she was nasty and told us to speak to her manager. The manager apologized and sent out the food again. The delivery guy was mad… no surprise and ASKEDFORTHEDOLLAR& asked for the original food. I know for a fact they cannot ask for the original food because they are not allowed to re-serve it but he kept insisting… This place has gone down hill and they just lost me as a customer. I will never order from here again.

Yea. Pretty bad. Soggy udon in tasteless broth, tempura that tastes like old grease, dragon roll is 75% cucumbers. Only redeeming part of this meal was the spicy salmon roll, not bad. I love you, LIC, but I’m going to Manhattan for sushi. Honestly, a sushi restaurant run by Chinese people with Thai items on the menu should’ve been a red flag.

Delicious food. I recommend the Pad Thai with shrimp, crispy duck roll, all the sushi and the Fried banana w/mango sherbet. It’s better to dine in this place then get it delivered. Every-time I’ve gone here they are never packed, maybe I am just getting lucky but I like it. The waitress never let our water get low and we felt like we were kings when we were being served. I’m giving them only 4 stars because I wasn’t happy with their delivery times. I live about 10 blocks from this place and they seem to take almost over an hour everytime, granted I can walk my heavy set butt over there myself but sometimes I want to stay home and be in sweats. :BATHROOMALERT: I took a photo of the bathroom so you get a better idea. There are no complaints on my end when it comes to the bathroom. Everything smells correctly and is in its place. I am glad they keep the bathroom well-kept because that means they clean all the fish well. Needless to say this is the only place I order any type of thai food from and I am going to keep it that way. Granted the wait time is boarder line I still enjoy the food.
