Our experience with Dr. Goldberg and the Little Silver office has been horrendous. I would never trust your eyes with him. He botched my husbands LASIK surgery. The front office people continue to book appointments with us, only to cancel a week before when Dr. Goldberg decides to go on vacation. Unfortunately, we moved to TN after the surgery and have to fly home for the appointments. This makes them canceling the appointments even worse. When he finally got in for a check up, the other doctor in the office saw him and agreed that he was not seeing as well as he should be and told him to get Dr. Goldberg to re perform the surgery. We booked an appointment for the Friday after Thanksgiving. He asked three times, «are you sure he is going to come in that day?» The answer was always a certain, «yes.» Before booking our tickets to come back to NJ for Thanksgiving, we called one more time to check and lo and behold — he’s not in that day. When were we going to get a phone call to cancel the appointment? The woman running the front office are stupid, lazy and rigid. They told us they would call us back — and never did. Not only has he ruined his eyes; Dr. Goldberg has basically made it impossible for my husband to get his eyes fixed. We are meeting with a lawyer instead of him the Friday after Thanksgiving.

I can not say enough about the compassion and care I received by Dr. Goldberg. If anyone is thinking about lasik or cataract surgery or any eye care for that matter Dr. Goldberg and all the doctors at Atlantic Eye Physicians is the practice you want to get your eye care by. I recently had lasik surgery to enhance disappointing results with cataract surgery by another practice and I am so happy to say my distance vision has been greatly improved without sacrificing my near vision. My first experience with this practice was several years ago I had a terrible allergic reaction to eye drops another doctor prescribed and was referred to Atlantic Eye. I was examined by Dr. Fegan. He was concerned and wanted to see me the next day, which was a Saturday. Even though they did not have office hours on Saturday he met me at the office to check that my eye was responding to treatment. All of the office staff are such a pleasure. Thank you SOMUCH Dr. Goldberg for giving me back freedom from distance glasses and the kindness you have shown to me.

This review is specific to the LITTLESILVER office. I had a good first experience at the Long Branch location(2 years ago) but the Little Silver office is closer to my house and parking is easier there, so I made my next annual appointment in LS. Bad idea. It started when I called to make the initial appointment when the girl who scheduled my appointment was unnecessarily rude and nasty. I should’ve known right there how this experience was going to go. I get to the appointment and the same rude girl checked me in(I recognized her nasty tone). Not only was she short and flip with me, but other patients ahead of me. It’s now my turn and a technician calls me back to check my eyes and dilate them. She asks me what I am here for. I say, «To get contact lenses.» She very rudely states that I need a totally separate appointment for that and that it will cost me $ 175 out-of-pocket. I tell her that I made the appointment specifically to get contact lenses — apparently, they screwed up. What? Where did that come from? All I want is to be examined and for them to order me contacts, how hard is that? And where did the $ 175 come in to all this? Of course I know I have to pay for them! She brought me in to see the doctor who was fine. He said they will call me in a month when the contacts come in. Today I get a voicemail from a woman in the office who says, «You are scheduled on March xx at 10 am for your lens fitting. Please call back to confirm.» I call back to say that I am unavailable at that time and to see what other dates/times are available. Very condescendingly, she states that these appointment are very lengthy and they are very hard to get(implying that I may not get one) and they she will call me back with another date. I said can’t you call me back with a few dates/times so I can make myself available? She huffed and puffed and said she would have to call me back. Who just makes an appointment for a complete stranger, expects them to be there, and gets mad when they ask for an alternate date/time? This office is ran very poorly and the office manager should be aware. I understand that the doctors in this practice are outstanding but a staff like this is bad for business. From now on, I will be going to the LONGBRANCH office even if it means driving 20 extra minutes and dealing with a parking garage.
