This place would appear to be in business solely on the basis of their location in a huge office building. They probably serve fairly average burgers, and a number of folks seemed to like their salad bar. But being the adventurous guy I am, I went the other way. Big mistake. They served me the worst gyro of my life. Almost no meat, tons of lettuce, and mustard rather than tzatziki sauce.

Just average. Grabbed a chicken caesar wrap and a bag of chips for $ 9. Not a lot of chicken. Usually caesar wraps/sandwiches are made how the salads are. Not here. They use a lot of romaine and ice berg lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and no cheese.

A true small business worth visiting for the friendly and attentive service. The World Trade Café sits nestled in the lobby of the world trade center in Long Beach, and when you walk in. The A mellow and relaxed place for busy businessmen with amazing service, World Trade Café certainly knows how to treat its customers with a fantastic mix of friendly, fast service, good value, and a wide variety in menu selections. Let’s start with the food. Being blunt, don’t expect fresh made pastries and sweets, these are store-bought. At the same time, they all don’t taste horrible and satisfy a sweet tooth. If you want something sweeter, head to Kelly’s next door, but more common treats like chocolate chip cookies are available here. They’re cheap and reasonable, not at all a tourist or office trap. Healthier options like fruit are always available and in large variety, and in the morning, oatmeal is served. It’s all typical, but with a good value and quantity, you can’t go wrong. Breakfast options run the usual courses like bacon, sausage and ham sandwiches and burritos, as well as pancakes. A welcome treat is chorizo, but can be a little greasy. All are made to order, so don’t expect instant service unless you go for the salad and fruit bar, which are also well done. Lunch offers good portions at good prices, and while not the cheapest, these are made fresh and with good ingredients, and great portions. You’re not going to stuff yourself silly here, but you won’t walk away hungry. Two varieties of soup are always available, and consider the kim bap if they have it at the lunch salad bar. Overall, flavor is good enough to satisfy most. What really sets this place apart is the amazing service the owners and staff provides. Kevin and Jane remember your face if you’re a regular, treat you well, always make sure you’re happy, and are constantly present to make sure their facility is clean and stocked. They have the customer in mind for all things, and may even have a calendar for you! This is how great this place is when it comes to making the customer happy– if you work in the building, you get free refills on your soda all day, until they close. You heard me. Not while you’re eating, but all day. Obviously best for locals, but they never complain, never grouse, never give you the stink eye. Every time you come in, they smile, and welcome you into their place of business like you’re a guest in their home. A well run business, World Trade Café combines good value, good portions, good flavor, and the best customer service I’ve had in an office cafeteria, and definitely among the best in any food service facility, period.

I can’t knock it for what it is: an office cafeteria. The service is what makes this place stand out. Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful. They genuinely try to get to know you if you’re willing to share! Other than that, the food I’ve had so far is average-above average for cafeteria food. The bread of the grilled chicken sandwich was a little overly toasted(a little hard), but the ingredients inside were pretty fresh. The fries are plain, so just salt/pepper them up to your liking. Their specials are usually a nice change from the norm, and it’s usually asian-focused since it’s an asian ran cafeteria. They also have a salad bar and a big selection of drinks/chips/candy.

Walked in here by accident when looking for another sandwich shop chain. Looked around and didn’t love the space, but reluctantly ordered because the chef greeted me and I felt bad leaving. Waiting for the food, realized my mistake and immediately regretted ordering my lunch. Then… My order was called, I went to the window and saw the sandwich. ITLOOKEDDELICIOUS! Decided to sit outside(because the interior actually is not great) and my lunch was honestly one of the most fresh and delicious sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Supporting this small business was easy and the quality of the ingredients was surprising, which inspired this review.

Was staying at the Hilton Long Beach and wanted a quick(non hotel) breakfast. Went into the café and grabbed a bottled water and egg and cheese croissant for $ 5. Was exactly what I was looking for and super tasty. Staff was incredibly friendly and fast(it was mostly empty at 9:30).

Let’s get right to the point. I was one of the first people to arrive for the usual noon lunch rush today and walked out pissed and still hungry 30 minutes later. The guy who I assume is the owner ensured me over and over that my simple Cobb salad was on the way. In the meantime, I’m watching order after order get pushed to other hungry customers. 30 minutes and you can’t throw together some vegetables and put it in a container?! I should’ve went with my instinct and just went with the jersey mikes instead of this sorry excuse for a «café».

It’s the best place to eat in this corner of Long Beach, which isn’t saying much. Their sandwiches are way better than Jersey Mike’s and 2 bucks cheaper. Staff gets 5 stars for friendlyness and speed, but the food is a solid 3 stars. I like the cold sandwiches and their gyro is surprisingly good. Stay away from anything fish. They serve breakfast too. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but for a lobby cafeteria it’s fine.

its always nice to see owners and employees doing their best to please their clients. In the case of World Trade Café, that sentiment definitely holds true. World Trade café is not really a café; the place has few tables, a small salad bar, and a continental menu which you order at the kitchen counter… I would say self serve deli /burger joint. There is a cooler near the cash register filled with energy drinks, juice and such. The gentleman who was tending the cash register(probably one of the owners) was upbeat and very polite. We ordered a veggie burger, mushroom avocado burger and pastrami wrap. The food looked clean and tidy. Tasted like food you would find at other small deli counters but freshness was bit more apparent here. All in all, a nice dinning experience. Although the food didn’t blow me away, the amount of effort put into each dish and each paying customer were impressive. 3.5 stars. Happy eating — R

Great little lunch spot /deli right across the street from my client’s offices in Long Beach, CA. The W.T.C. is located on the plaza level of the Long Beach World Trade Center along E. Ocean Boulevard. For lunch they have a make-your-own salad bar with lots of fresh ingredients, 2 kinds of soup, and a whole host of sandwiches, burgers, and wraps. Everything is made fresh-to-order. The food is quite good and fairly priced. You can choose to eat outside under the patio umbrellas, or inside the café, or even out in the covered atrium inside the WTC high rise. I had the French Dip sandwich today which was grilled roast beef, sliced thinly, with provolne cheese and beef au jus dipping sauce, all served on a toasted french bread roll. The sandwich came with a mound of freshly-cooked french fries which they salted with seasoned salt, and served with ketchup and hot sauce. The sandwich, fries and a glass of iced tea was under $ 9 — maybe a bit high-priced for some, but the quality of the food was outstanding, and the folks working in the deli were incredibly friendly. I’ll be back to try this place again!

Mondays and Wednesdays… yes…I love Cream of Broccoli on Mondays and Split Pea soup on Wednesdays at World Trade Café. Overall…I like W.T.C. Their lunch salad bar is pretty awesome(and you make your own). I usually add my own same ingredients everytime. The office orders breakfast in the AM also. Phone order and walk down and the food is ready. Try the bagel breakfast sandwich with egg whites, turkey and cheese, or try the French toast. I haven’t really tried their lunch though except for the soups and salads. I’ve also had their ice cream and coffee($ 1.25 if you have your own clean tumbler). One minus… they are pretty expensive. I wish the prices were a bit lower. But most of us still go back day after day. Kevin(the owner) and his family are really nice. They always say hello and remember your name.

I initially didn’t expect much of this place. It seemed like a generic sandwich shop. While that may be true, I give this place 4 stars because it had fresh selections in the self serve salad bar @ $ 4.99 per pound. I really liked this option since it allowed me to get only the amount I want to eat, and what I want to eat. I was impressed with the tuna. I thought it was pretty decent quality. Most of the tuna at mediocre outfits have stale and soggy tuna that’s darker in color. I had spinach, tuna, black olives, red onions, sunflower seeds, and a dab of pasta. I added extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and topped it off with salt and pepper. It was excellent, and I only paid $ 3 and change.
