The Gateway Wine Bar

Yeah, it’s in a Gelson’s, so the only «gateway» is between the entrance to the overpriced quinoa salads. But, I actually watched the last quarter of the AFC Championship game there. Why would you consider going to this extremely plain but clean five-​seater bar?
1) Because Jessica’s Crunchy Kale Salad and all the other produce items requiring refrigeration are only twenty feet away, the area is very cold, perfect on a hot day, which is most days.
2) With no jukebox, loud crowds (the bar only seats 5), or other TVs other than the one nearby, the noise level is low if you want to watch a game, or relax.
3) If you were planning on buying expensive groceries AND have a drink, you can kill two birds with one stone. Both you and your groceries can be «in the bag».
4) if you don’t like what’s on the menu, twenty feet away you can get made to order sandwiches for eight bucks and bring it back.
5) They don’t accept tips because, in the words of the friendly and attentive bartender, «they take care of us». This saves you 15%, or 0% if you’re my cousin’s husband Maurice.

Very nice little niche at the very front of the store. You can enjoy some vino from 12pm till 6pm, along with some other specialties. You Must stop by and see for yourself! Tré Delich!!!
