I’m not sure how this place has such good reviews because the food here is awful. We ordered panang curry and pad Thai, and both were equally as terrible. The curry was watery and bland so it barely tasted like anything when put over rice. The pad Thai noodles were mushy(over cooked) and it was also very bland. I’m not sure how you mess up pad thai at a Thai restaurant! I was craving curry and thai food and this place really ruined it. Needless to say, I’ll never be coming back. Thankfully, the waitress, Lisa, was very friendly and attentive.

This place is worth trying. I ordered the tiger shrimp salad(not sure if that’s the correct name on the menu) and beef pad sea eww. The shrimp salad was really amazing when it comes to the spices and flavor explosion in your mouth, but it lack any kind of veggie as a salad. It’s pretty lame to call it a salad when there’s not veggie incorporate with the shrimp except for the carrot and one piece of lettuce on the side as garish. This dish was more of appetizer since it was just the shrimp in the yummy sauce than shrimp with veggie as a salad. If anything, serve it with rice and call it a entrée. Really how much more can some veggie or a cup of rice cost for a dish that’s $ 12.95ish. The beef pad sea eww was not great but edible. When I say edible, that doesn’t mean it was gross. Just not the flavor I’m used to or looking for in a beef pad sea eww. The dish came with carrots, not what I’m usually used to. The flavor was a bit bland not like most pad sea eww with the soy sauce flavor. I wouldn’t recommend getting this. For sure you should skip this dish and try something else. The customer service was great and that’s why I give them a 4 stars. This was my first experience and because they have great service I will be back to try the other dishes.

This Thai place is close to home. We enjoy walking down 2nd street and coming here. The yellow curry is delicious. I also always order the tom yum chicken soup. The Thai iced tea is a bit too sweet. The staff is friendly. Although service can be slow when the place is crowded but the food is always good.

Good service but the taste is not so authentic. The atmosphere is cozy and quite enjoyable. Service is on par; they are pretty attentive. Just wished the food tasted more like Thai and less like Hollywood. Would I come back here again? Probably not unless I was stranded right out front of the door. — El Picky Chinito

I really love this place. The first time we came here was on a lark. It wasn’t too crowded, and we were starving. I’m so glad we did! Every dish I’ve gotten has been so delicious. I honestly just love their food. My favorite is the cashew chicken(I order it «spicy» — you can choose your spice level.) The service is quick and attentive, and we have never had an issue whatsoever. We keep coming back because it’s just that good. OH, and they are open very late, later than many other restaurants in the Shore.

The first time I had food here was at the taste of Belmont Shore. At that time I remember it being salty. I was down on 2nd street again today, and craved Thai food. I thought I was ordering from the other Thai place on the east end of 2nd Street, but it turned out to be Thai Gourmet on the west end of 2nd. Ordering online was convenient. I was able to sit in my car at a stop sign, look through the menu and order. By the time I navigated the one way streets and parked, my food was ready. There was no one in the restaurant. That was pretty scary. They were waiting on me, as the only online order for pick up. When I got the food home, it was still hot. It was plentiful and good. Mom said it «was very delicious and it was plentiful. I enjoyed it, enjoyed it very much. Those people really know how to cook and put it together.»

I love this little cozy spot. The décor is nice and the food is delicious. Good place to catch up with friends and family. The prices are reasonable and portion is just enough. Must try: Yellow Curry Chicken, Pad Thai Shrimp, Thai Iced Tea.

Yummy, yummy! Located in Belmont Shore so I was expecting it to be a little bit pricey, which it was, but the quality was well worth the price. Their egg-roll appetizer is so good and it’s a generous portion. Sweet and sour chicken is a must and the pad-Thai was done just right.

What a disappointment. My boyfriend and I have not had much luck with Thai food in Long Beach and decided to give a try because of Unilocal 4 star rating. We came about 1 hour prior to closing and the restuarant was empty. The first approach was rude and akward … with a girl asking if we were eating here or taking to go? It was extremely unwelcoming because of her tone. I get that customers probably order out often, but you can ask in a much more poilite way … for example, «Are you dining in with us tonight?» We shook it off because the reviews on Unilocal seem somewhat positive on food … The wait staff was unattentive to us the whole time because they were talking to what we thought was another customer, until I realized the customer went into the kitchen. Wrong, it was another employee probably off for the day. I had to get up and ask for certain items or try to get their attention for simple things like a spoon. The food was just … okay. My coconut soup tasted more like lime and was very acidic which I did not finish because it made me wonder if the coconut cream was rancid. The Chicken Satay meat was good, however the dipping sauce sub-par which is supposed to be the best part of Chicken Satay! Freshness may be an issue. Nothing decent were I would return or take to go. I am literally shocked that anyone here gave a 4 or 5. However, elite status doesn’t mean you have good taste. Even 3.5 is generous, but the 1 star is for food and service combined.

What a great place to grab some Thai food. Seriously, this place is what I’m looking for. It seems fancy on the outside, but super chill from the inside. The ambiance seems calm and relaxing due to the costumer service that they offered. They were really helpful for our first time eating in here. The servers are always smiling and they recommend you what’s good. The food is awesome! My girlfriend and I ordered shit load of menu items cause we’re hungry lol. For our appetizer, we ordered their beef skewer with peanut sauce. Oh boy! That peanut sauce is the bomb! The beef skewer is good enough by its own and added with that peanut sauce makes it sinfully good. So sweet, meaty, and pack a lot of flavor. Now off to the main menus… My girl ordered fresh coconut juice cause its a must! Their coconut juice is so fresh that it is serve in its shell. Soo refreshing! We ordered their beef panang and its amazing. It’s a combination of sweet and spicy flavor while eating rice. Soo good! And of course we ordered my girl’s favorite Thai dish, pad Thai baby. A lot of restaurants put some meats on their pad Thai, but not in here. They pack a lot of meats in that noodles and you can taste the meat which is chicken in every bite. Yes, I said shit load in the beginning because their serving size is huge. It is like running a marathon finishing their courses of food. Coming back for sure!

DONOTORDERDELIVERY from this place. Like a few other reviewers, I had a horrible experience ordering delivery via EAT24. I ordered 3 items around 8:30 on a Monday night. Around 9:40, I called the restaurant to get a status update. He told me to hold one minute, except never came back to the phone. I called a second time, and he informed me that the driver had delivered my food to the wrong address, again asked to hold one minute, and again never came back to the phone. I called a third time, at which time he told me the kitchen was now closed and my options were to either cancel my order or for them to go back to the wrong house to pick up my food and then deliver it to me(the latter of which was not an option). Long story short, I never got my food … and I know this place has good food because I’ve dined in there before. EAT24 customer service was slow to respond, but once they did were helpful in ensuring I got a full refund, and a credit for my troubles. But this experience left me very skeptical of the EAT24 delivery service in general.

This is my favorite thai place in long beach! Everything I’ve had is good. Pad thai, bbq chicken, curries, soups… it’s all good. The husband and I usually sit at the bar and they are pretty cool about letting you use the remote to pick a channel to watch on t.v.

The fancy but not formal Thai Gourmet is our go-to for to-go, and for the great weekday lunch specials. Everything(satay, peanut sauce, pad thai, kang jued, tom kha kai, BBQ chicken, pad siew, crying tiger, hidden dragon) is great and the service is excellent. We eat at the bar and they’ll even give us the(cleverly saran-wrapped) remote control.

I’ve lived in Belmont Shore for a year but have never tried Thai Gourmet. My friend and I were roaming 2nd Street today and decided that tonight would be Thai night. Since we were in no mood to drive, we decided on Thai Gourmet. Upon entering, the restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The temperature in there is a little warm though. I wish the AC were a little higher. But that’s okay because tonight was a cool summer night. We ordered chicken green curry and beef pad see ew. Both were pretty tasty — not the BEST Thai food ever, but for the convenience of the location, I was really satisfied. When you order curry, you can specify how hot you want it, which I really appreciated because I’m pretty weak when it comes to heat. The pad see ew was not overly greasy like many places, so I was pleased. The portions are on the smaller side. The food comes out on huge serving plates, but the actual serving size is just adequate. Def not leftover portion size. Overall, Thai Gourmet is pretty good. Good prices($ 27 for 2 entrees and a side of white rice with tax and tip) and is a nice light dinner. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual American fare on 2nd St. The service was very good as well — our waters were constantly refilled and the food came out quickly.

This review is more for the lunch dining and take-out. Since I work near by, this is my go-to for thai food cravings and healthier options. You can’t go wrong with the easy-on-the-pocket priced lunch specials menu. The menu has a good variety of smaller sized entrees with rice and choice of side salad, egg roll or fried wonton. From curries with meat, noodles and vegetarian options, there’s something for anyone. A couple of my favorites from the special lunch menu is Crying Tiger steak and Yellow Curry chicken. The main menu has a lot of choices. A couple items I’ve enjoyed were the fried calamari appetizer and the Pla Goong(Spicy Tiger Prawn Salad).I’ve yet to try a lot more.

+Solid Thai dishes. We tried the curry with pumpkin, their summer salad that had shrimp and papaya, and we had pad see ewe. All were good. Not mind blowing but delicious(A little bit salty though) +Brown rice. Any place that serves brown rice gets an automatic thumbs up from me. +Huge selection. +Huge selection for my vegetarian friends as well. –Service is a bit slow. We were there when it was fairly empty but it took them awhile to get to us. ***You can get better and cheaper Thai food in LA but considering it’s in Belmont Shores, I think it’s solid.

Located on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, Thai Gourmet By Sri Maya joined a number of great restaurants with dog friendly outdoor seating and great food. On a nice sunny Sunday afternoon, we had a great dinner on their outdoor patio accompanied by our dog. Our server was nice and brought our dog a bowl of water. She was very accommodating with everything as well as our order. The atmosphere outdoors was relaxing. For the brief moment I was inside, the felt the interior was nice, clean and trendy. As we ate, people walked on the sidewalk next to us, often greeting our dog. I must say, there are alot of dog walkers and dog friendly restaurants on this street! We placed two tables together for the dishes we ordered. We were the only ones outside; most of the diners chose to eat inside. We ordered Tom Yum soup, crab fried rice, Pad Woon Sen, and beef jerky. –We ordered the Tom Yum soup spicy and boy is it. I like spicy food, but this is the kind that might give you the runs the next morning. It was still great though. — It was my first time having crab fried rice. I think it’s a new favorite for me. — The Pad Woon Sen with glass noodles was really good. I usually order Pad See Ew, but the glass noodle dishes have been very appealing to me lately; much lighter but equally as good. — Our beef jerky came in late as our server forgot to put in the order, but the wait was worth it. It was easy to eat and was one of the better beef jerky’s I’ve had at a Thai restaurant. — Had two draft beers to top it all off. The beer on draft was all American/German. As the sun set, they turned on the lights for us outside and it exterior was nicely lit. Nice little Thai spot overall.

What an awesome spot! The food is really«knock your socks off» good! I mean it too… First Thai place in a long time where the Tom Yung Koong actually has crisp shrimp, not soggy and grotesque leach like monstrosities. The service was great. The server was so kind and attentive. What I truly loved is the service was so non abrasive! The waiter was truly a ninja of the service industry and you know what? I fucking love that! I hate over the top chatty spots where the server is followed up by the fake greeting of a manager while I’m mid bite, asking how great the food that’s lodged in my throat tastes. The price? Terrific. My $ 8 tofu roll appetizer filled me up. At dinner. And it was delicious. This place is a gem.
