Can’t beat the happy hour tacos! My favorite is the pork and only $ 1.50. Its never crowded and the outside patio is grear for people watching.

Overall a good place to eat. Good prices and happy hour is worth it! Food is pretty good although chip salsa could be spicier. A good place for a casual meal with friends

Ten years ago, I would’ve given this placed five stars. But the quality has gone down big time. You used to get really yummy tacos for only $ 1 and beers for $ 2. Great spot to go to between classes as a student at CSULB. Unfortunately, those days are gone. The fish taco, which is/was their specialty, is an awful excuse for a taco. Theres barely even any fish in it. I wish I had a photo. Anyway, its still a good spot if you’re a broke student, but set your expectations really low like you would when you go to McDonalds for a burger.

This is one of best places to go in Southern CA! A great location, just off the Seal Beach pier, and the food is sincerely some of the best found in the area. The wet burritos are our favorites, as the sauce is truly good! The service is also stellar, and the chips basket is always kept full. Whether you live in the area, or are a tourist, give Taco Surf a visit!

This is the best taco place in Long Beach by far. I love the shrimp tacos and the service here is always great! Even when it is busy … you can tell they really care about their customers and the food is fantastic!

Visited on 3⁄25. Initially, the hostess attempted to seat our party of 3 at a very small table that would have been small for 2 people. Service was extremely slow, and we waited at least 20 minutes after being seated before a server made it to our table, and that was after we flagged someone down. My girlfriend ordered a cheese enchilada and tamale combo — the cheese enchilada arrived with nothing inside the tortilla. My own food was mediocre at best, and certainly not worth the price. I gave Taco Surf a second chance, but they will not be receiving a third.

Great service! Pepe was our waiter at the outdoor dining area. We had our drink order taken immediately and they came right out. It was taco Tuesday! They have tacos for $ 1.50/e. Good food. Great price.

Been here a few times and love it. their Baja fish taco and veggie tacos are my personal favorite. They pack the veggie taco full which is really nice. The location is nice and convenient however if you go on a Friday or Saturday evening expect to walk quite a bit due to having to park a ways — but it is 2nd street so that should be expected. Every time I have gone the service has been great our waitress has always been friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place if you are in Long Beach looking for some good tacos.

It was St. Patrick’s Day and my bf and I just happened to be walking our dog and decided to just get a bite to eat. We thought going to Taco Surf will be a good one since it wasn’t as busy and every other place was packed. Sat out in the patio and they have their Thursday deal of $ 2.25 a taco and XX Amber/Lager for $ 2.95 Decided to have the Baja fish taco and chicken and mushroom tacos. Oh man! The first bite on that Baja fish taco, I thought I was going to slice the top roof of my mouth. It was dry, cold, and hard as if it didn’t get thawed. I immediately lost my appetite. The chicken & mushroom was like something I can easily make at home, but way better. Chicken bits are dry! My bf told the server about my Baja fish taco and decided to get the shredded beef taco. That one was a little better, but how can they call themselves a taco place when their tacos sucks?! No wonder we don’t go to this joint. We’d rather go to a mom and pop place and enjoy the food there. I guess, the only good part about it was the beer specials, but I don’t care if you have HH specials or any specials for that matter if your food doesn’t even satisfy any craving then it’s no bueno!

Pros: Customer service, beer selection, ambience, location. Cons: Overpriced Mexican fast food sold at restaurant rates.

Ordered delivery through eat24 this evening. Ordered a burrito and a tamale, after receiving a message that my order would be ready by 8:05, it didn’t arrive til 8:30. Whatever, not a big deal. But what really pissed me off was that this is what you call a tamale? It’s just a half ass job in my opinion.

Love the drinks!!! The food is delicious. We sat outside when coming here, its better because you can feel the breeze. The service was great. The only thing is that if you sit outside, it is very close to the other people sitting near.

The only reason they are getting one star is because I have to push it! I have been craving cheese enchiladas for a week so I decided to order from here. Huge mistake! I paid 40 bucks for chips and salsa, a quesadilla, 3 enchiladas and beans. I will post pics because you have to see the food to really get the feel for my anger. Never again will I order much less even go in there! This place is just terrible!

The Service here is awesome! that I must say! The beer was good and cheap y Quesadilla was good too! My friends got fish tacos Which SUCKED! the fish was super burnt and the tortilla was almost cold when they brought it out to us and looked like it wasnt even cooked! The waiter did bring us over fish pieces to prove that not all fish are burnt… lol. and the bathrooms were super clean which was the 2 stars! wouldn’t mind coming back!

I must confess! I’ve been back a few times to see if things have changed from the disappointment they’d become. Somehow some things are better. The carnitas plate is a must. Wonderfully cooked carnitas and lots of it! Surrounded by guacamole, rice, re-fried beans and fresh chopped pico de gallo. I have this with flour tortillas. Make my own little burritos adding some carnitas, rice, beans and salsa. Very tasty! This visit, the re-fried beans were much better than days past or at least, from the days of my previous review. The rice was also good. Not the best, but good. The two meat burrito had carnitas and carne asada was(I’m glad to report) GREAT! Then again, I should have requested they put the pico de gallo and sour cream on the side. I figure baby steps for now. I really was pleasantly surprised!

Taco Tuesdays $ 3 beers and $ 2.25 tacos AND Tapatio sauce! Lots of bright lights, chubby waitresses AND outdoor seating. Sometimes you’ll find a crazy Russian Ukrainian eating tacos in the corner under the cowboy shadow photo.

I was not a huge fan of this place. We happened to stop in on a taco Thursday(i like that it is not just Tuesday). The place was crowded so I thought it would be a good choice. The service wasn’t great. It took forever to get the basics(water, utensils, napkins, and chips). The food was also over priced. Thank goodness there were deals on the tacos or else I don’t think we would have eaten here. I got the flautas appetizer which tasted great. My boyfriend got some crispy tacos and felt like he made a big mistake. They were so greasy. He didn’t finish them and felt sick later. I think there are better places nearby for mexican.

Killer happy hour w/$ 1.50 tacos and $ 3 beers. Filling burritos, killer carnitas, great chips and probably my favorite salsa in Long Beach, heavy on tomato and onion. Super casual. Old-school lollipops on your way out. Unlike the other 4 Taco Surfs, this is the only one with a patio, and it overlooks the busy 2nd street sidewalk, so eat there or the bar. The booths are hard and wooden. It’s like riding Amistad.

The service was excellent. I’ve also been to the Seal Beach location too. I’d recommend The Scorpion Chowder Soup, 12oz. The Mexican cuisine is average, but the portions of the burrito are HUGE, so that’s where you can put your feed bag on and get filled up. They do give complimentary tortilla chips and salsa, in a world where their peers may charge, it’s refreshing to experience gratis table snacks. It’s a great location on the main strip along Long Beach’s busy 2nd Street. Parking can be easy if you’re willing to walk a little, even FREE parking(no meters) in the adjacent residential neighborhood side streets too. 2nd Street is a nice place to stroll and shop too.
