This place always gets a five star from me. I have been going here since I was a boy and it was a tiny little sailers café. I loved it’s «greasy spoon» atmosphere and food then and I LOVE what it has become. Waitresses are usually hot and their great personalities make them smoken hot. I have had every breakfast they offer and still to this day I have a hard time deciding what to eat. You know you have found a great place when the menu is fighting itself so to speak. For sure recommend 100%

Had breakfast with my girls here around 10a.m. Sitting outside in the patio can get super hot! So just ask for those umbrellas, choose a seat where the sun doesn’t hit or sit inside. The service was good. She checked up on us often and was really patient with our friend that took a while to decide what to order. The food! I ordered 2 eggs any, hash browns, a muffin, and added 1 pancake for a $ 1.00 I believe. My friend ordered chilaquiles with beans and eggs.(really good!) my other friend ordered a sandwich with soup. She didn’t seem to have enjoyed it because she didn’t eat much. A Plus for me: –French Vanilla & hazelnut creamer –Tapatio –Nice view The down side: –The seats are plastic chairs(Not so comfy) –When it gets busy expect to wait a WHILE!

It’s good! It’s really good! I got the mess and shared the crab Benedict with two friends and we had to go the mess because there was so much. The mess is so covered in cheese you just kind of doubt if it’ll be overwhelming or not but who are we kidding the more cheese the better! Get the whole order of the mess $ 11.75. The half order is like $ 9.75 and why would you not want the extra more of the mess?! I love me a hot mess. I didn’t like the crab Benedict as much though… I don’t know why. It did taste fresh, but it wasn’t amazing. As for seating just sit inside. Outside view isn’t all that, you get to look at parked boats I don’t think it’s too romantic or appealing lol Service was okay. Not crazy welcoming nor very fast but still nice. Plenty of parking too. But won’t be back for a while. Not something you crave that often.

I used to come here with friends/family from out of town because it has a great view of the marina. However, that’s about all it has going for it. The customer service is awful. Everyone has a bad attitude there. I asked the server to bring me something and she scoffed she«only has two hands.» The food and just okay and fortunately Long Beach has many wonderful brunch locations to choose from. The typical 2 hour wait on the weekends is not worth it!

Breakfast is good but the service on a weekday morning is hit or miss. I’ve been here 8 – 9 times in the last month(just moved here), and sometimes I’m attended to quickly and other times there is an inordinate waiting time to have my order taken. Today was the capper. I arrived at 8:30am and chose to sit outside as I usually do. There were only two other parties seated. I noticed a waitress look at me from afar, but she continued to stand where she was. She was then joined by two other staff members and they all began chatting with each other. After patiently waiting to get my order taken, I finally went inside and sat at the counter. I typically leave a 20% tip if the service is good, but if I feel like a restaurant’s service is average or less, I generally find a new place to eat. Too bad, the scenery is a nice backdrop to the good breakfast prepared there.

Schooner or Later has just made my «Best Brunch Spots in Long Beach» list, vying for the top spot against Jongewaard’s Bake & Broil. With an expansive menu, including items featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, it was a bit difficult deciding on a dish to assuage my Saturday morning hangriness because everything sounded so damn good. And the wait wasn’t all that too bad – bearable, actually, with an accessible bar available. My partner and I had Schooner’s Denver omelette and crab & avocado benedict, which we complemented with hash browns, fruits and a biscuit.(Side note: I’d like to take a moment to praise how amazing the benedict was. Whoever came up with the ensemble is doing it right.) Their food definitely lives up to the buzz it has created, and their serving will surely keep your belly and wallet full. The service was nothing short of excellent – the waiter was attentive, and our meals were served promptly. Overall, ’twas a great first experience with positive vibes all around.

Schooner or Later is a great breakfast and lunch restaurant in Long Beach. It is located next to the Seal Beach Yacht club, and it will always be crowded no matter what time of day you decide to go. Good thing is that they have a grand outside waiting area along with a bar where you can order your drinks and have a nice wait. Can’t believe there’s only one bartender for the entire restaurant! There are sailboats all along the docks there and the environment is very scenic. I would recommend ordering the Crab and Avocado Benedict and enjoy it with some Cramosas(champagne and cranberry juice). They also have really good homemade muffins that I would encourage you to try. The prices are fairly average, but for the atmosphere, you will definitely want to try this place at least once. It is totally worth it. Enjoy!

Good breakfast with a nice view! My coworkers always decide to pick this location for large group parties. They offer outdoor seating with a heated patio for 20 plus guests. The servers are on top of their game and the service is fast. I love ordering the mimosas… they bring out a chilled champagne bottle and frosted glasses with orange juice and cranberry juice for self service. I have tried the half mess and the basic breakfast staples which are excellent choices, but I recommend the huevos rancheros! These tasty eggs come with freshly made salsa over warmed tortillas and a side of refried beans. The sour cream and the guacamole are an added bit of heaven. They also make it easy to split the bill by breaking it up by table. Love it here!

Worth the wait! Came Sunday and the wait was only 20mins for 2, if you come on Sunday you can go walk around the farmers market right next to it tho. The view is so beautiful, and food was quite good. The mess is delicious but even the half is so much. Omelet was delicious also and it’s really nice you have the option of bagel/muffin/biscuit in addition to toast, most places don’t do that. And there are quite a few choices for muffins too. Overall food was quite good but not like ZOMG. View really is amazing tho, gotta at least try once!
