Excellent, excellent choice of caterer for my daughter’s birthday party. Service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We were absolutely satisfied and will definitely use them again.

5 stars for the hot sandwiches Love Meatball Mondays. Also like the chicken parm, pastrami, sausage and peppers. 3 stars for the cold sandwiches. Cold sandwiches are prepped with the meat and cheese already as this place gets extremely busy during the lunch rush Cannolis are good My friends have tried the salad, olive bar and pizza. They said the pizza was average. Since the hot sandwiches are so good, I haven’t tried anything but sandwiches. Market offers a good selection of Italian cooking goods Parking lot can get full during lunch but there is plenty of street parking.

First time today. Large special sub was delicious and fed 3 people. Delicious olives and artichokes and mushrooms were eaten as well. Bought imported canned anchovies in olive oil which were delicate and delicious. Also purchased pasta, Italian chocolate, and Orangina to consume later. Place is clean, well organized, with an inviting atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. I look forward to trying everything on the menu over the next few weeks.

I almost didn’t want to write a review, by no means is it a secret spot but I do feel it stays under the radar, which is nice. My grandad turned me on to this place about 15 years ago since then it’s always been sort of a comfort food for me. A legit italian deli in Long Beach, best meatball sandwich in town.

I absolutely love this place! I’ve been coming here to Santa Fe Importers for probably 30+ years, and the one certainty is that they are consistent with their food and service. I am a regular buyer of the«Large Special», but I’ve also been known to try a little hot pasta too! I love their lasagna with meatball and extra sausage. If you want a change from just the local fast food spots, you have to try this place. You’ll definitely be glad you did. Food has great flavor, the people are fantastic always.

Really cool spot. I was searching for prosciutto where I normally get at a further location. When I tried theirs it was awesome. Then I tried their lasagna and I was sold. Their sun dried olives are awesome!

Good for lunch but be sure to bring your wallet with lost of cash cause it will get pricey! I’ve been coming here for a few years not just because it’s close to my company for lunch. This trip I ordered cheese ravioli with spaghetti sauce and peppers, chesse. I did a call in order which was a big mistake cause when I arrived it wasn’t ready. The server was taking and preparing orders on the spot and when I asked why my food wasn’t ready no response poor service. Afr r getting my food back to my desk I opened to find they added meat balls… I didn’t want to eat meat this day and I really don’t eat pork. Pissed I won’t be eating at this place for a while

Their cold sandwiches and salads never disappoint. I usually(always) get the cheese sandwich with everything on it, AMAZING, with the mediterranean salad. The hot food is delicious as well but the cheese sandwiches won me over long ago. Definitely one of the best authentic Italian delis around Long Beach.

Now if you never Had Manicotti, Oh wow you got to try this, Food from Heaven !! Really. The food is truly Italian !!! They got manicotti, cold and hit subs. Everything is homemade and the deli has the best meats, all at affordable prices. I got manicotti. It came with two manicotti’s and two meatballs. Also got a small meatball sub. All was totally delicious.

I’ve worked in the area for years… but admittedly have only been here a few times and honestly I have no idea why. SERVICE: Every once in a blue moon or two we’ll order lunch for my department from Santa Fe. I’ve only set foot in this place once, otherwise it’s a phone in order to go. The people I’ve spoken with on the phone have always been patient and helpful, making sure the order was correct before hanging up. We’ve always given them a specific time the order had to be ready by and it’s always been ready when we go to pick it up. FOOD: I’ve had the lasagna($ 7.99), the hot pastrami sandwich(lg $ 8.99) and the Italian sausage, peppers & onion sandwich(lg $ 7.99). Everything has always been very good, but the Italian sausage, peppers & onion sandwich is definitely my favorite, it’s SOGOOD! OVERALL: An awesome local Italian deli that not only has great pasta dishes and made to order sandwiches, but also a store chocked full of Italian specialty items.

I love sandwiches, cold ones, hot ones, banh mi, I love them all. So when i see reviews by my YF’s Shelley Z and Ben L about a sandwich place and getting 5 stars from both of them, I had to check it out. Santa Fe Importers is an Italian sandwich shop, pizza place, pasta /grocery store. Sandwich shop takes top billing because that’s what everyone is here for. The lines are a bit confusing here. The first line is a ‘Hot” food or sandwich line. A little further down is the«Cold» food area. You place your orders there or pick them up. The last line is the cashiers line. Somehow it all blends into one line, but you can save time by knowing which line you need to be. I talked my staff into joining me for a sandwich party. I got 4 sandwiches and this is how everyone ranked the sandwiches. Italian Beef — Hands down the best. Everyone loved it. The beef was super tender and the taste was just fantastic. I love Italian Beef from Portillo’s(in Buena Park) but this one was so much better. YUM! Get this one! Special(Cold Sandwich) — «imported ham, italian dry salami, cotto & swiss cheese» put all of that together and you have yourself a slamin, jammin sandwich. Clear cut #2 Meatball — Yes, the meatball is as advertised, DELICIOUS! Just because it’s #3 in this list is not a slight at this very very good sandwich(the other 2 were just a bit better) lol. The meatballs were perfect. Get them on Mondays and they are cheaper. Roast Pork — This was the only disappointment. It was tender enough, but it was lacking in flavor. This was everyone’s least favorite of the bunch. There are more sandwiches and pasta dishes to try, but I am a big fan of SFI. The Italian beef will certainly bring me back. 2015 Review #46

Great bread, tasty pickles, fragrant mustard, hot great portions of pastrami, … I knew that I had been robbing myself of a much deserved great sandwich. No cheese was offered. .it was awesome . I used to drive to Culver city for a overpriced, fallen in quality, pastrami sandwich that I had to fight to keep cheese off it! Wtf… really Doh This is main place. I used to live a Jerrys Deli. .that was great too. But this place is closer to my house and a very tasty sandwich. All come here. Please for me. Don’t ask for cheese. Gosh. …

I’m a big fan of their spicy sausage. Their sausage sandwich with peppers is definitely my favorite. They offer solid cold cuts, nice salads and a variety of imported canned goods. The staff is friendly and looks sharp. Glad this place is near my house.

I was driving in the area for work and stumbled across this tiny awesome gem. I’m so glad I stopped and came inside. Wonderful little deli complete with cheeses and wines as well. I got the salami and cheese sandwich. Their bread is off the chain. The small was so big. I really want to come get a hot sandwich next time. They also had the olive bar which I so wanted to get but didn’t want to leave in my car because of work. Boo. Very friendly staff and kudos for the samples of Pantonne in the front. Coming back on a weekend to stock up for the casa.

Offering a wide variety of quality sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and more, it’s no wonder Santa Fe Importers is so popular. I’ve tried the pepperoni and sausage pizza, ravioli with meatballs, Italian sausage sub with peppers and onions, meatball sub, and various sandwiches.(Everything I’ve had has been marvelous.) When you walk in you will find yourself immersed in a sea of Italian food products. The layout reminds me of an old school general store. You walk to the right to order hot foods, and to the left counter to order cold sandwiches and pasta salad, etc. There is plenty of seating at the barstools/countertop section to enjoy your grub. The neighboring building sells their products in wholesale amounts. Everything is fresh and superb. Today I enjoyed the eggplant parmesan special(Fridays). Two breaded pieces of eggplant were accompanied by spaghetti and marinara sauce. The meal was delightful. The eggplant was thin and tasty. My previous visit I had the large Special sandwich. I usually prefer hot meals, but once in a while I like to appreciate the simplicity and quality of a sandwich that is put together with love and care. The Special was incredible. Each component of the sandwich played its role to perfection: a generous helping of cotto salami, dry salami, ham, and swiss were brought together with fresh Italian herb dressing, mustard, lettuce, and tomato. A delightful pick-me-up lunch if I’ve ever had one. Just what you need to hold you over until dinner. Definitely go for a sandwich if you want something lighter than the heavier hot foods. The staff is friendly enough, but also quick and succinct(in order to get everyone in and out swiftly). The food is awesome. It keeps me coming back for more.

Two words: MEATBALLMONDAYS. Practice this religiously with me and my coworkers. The best meatball sub you’ll ever have will only cost you $ 4.49 on Mondays(or $ 5.49 for a larger version). AMAZING.
