Great local spot here in Long Beach on 2nd street. I had the Poke Bowl and Mahi Mahi fish taco. The poke bowl was super tasty and good solid portion of ahi, seaweed salad and brown rice. Its been hard to find a great poke bowl here in Long Beach and this will be my go-to spot for it. I will definitely be coming back asap.

…Was visiting long beach for few days and ask locals for small place with delicious food. Ahi poki, clam chowder and calamari fries to die for! Superb customer service didn’t expected at all from a small on the go diner! Thank you

New fav place! I had poke taco, loved it! I also had the angry mussels and clams. The mussels and clams were great but a lil buttery. My bf had the poboy shrimp sandwich and we shared some calamari fries. He said the poboy was a lil heavy but good. Calamari fries were great! If you order tacos or a burrito you can choose your fish :) Everything was soo fresh and the service was acceptable. We will definitely be back!

Calamari, and the Fries were very tasty and distinctly different from the average restaurant, very impressive. The recipe made from a very creative chef no doubt. I don’t give them 5 stars because the tuna poke was a disappointment for me. I expected poke similar to a poke house, or at least the caliber of their own fried foods however I did enjoy everything else in the bowl. If they make adjustments to their poke recipe I may update and add another star. The cashier was very friendly and accommodating, he gets two thumbs up.

DANG! This place is AWESOME! The calamari fries were DELICIOUS and the fish tacos were super fresh. I got mahi mahi while my girlfriend got salmon and they were both incredible. Super friendly and fast service. A must go to if you’re by Long Beach.

Sunday Jan 24 /Lunch Fish and Chips /fish tacos F&C=Good sized portions of perfectly cooked firm(yet tender) white fish. Batter was thin and crisp. Not greasy. Tartar sauce not too sweet French fries ok. I prefer more crisp but at least they tasted like potatoes Will get again Fish tacos expensive but Halibut not cheap. great flavor Wait time was fairly quick. But surges of customers can alter wait time. Many sidewalk tables provide good people watching… or waiting for meal prep and quick serve“style«Café. The main restaurant will be awhile ’cause the re-build is extensive. This is my 5th viz and will continue to patronize

I LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOOOOOVE this place!!! So glad it opened back up! Probably my most favorite place to eat on 2nd St. The owners are the most wonderful people I have seen run a business in a long time. I’m sure it can be stressful, but you will NEVER notice in how they treat people. Vanessa knows exactly how to be with her customers and even to their employees! Coming here feels just like home. I’m so ecstatic that it finally did open. I hope Roe is here to stay for good this time! Would definitely come here time and time again. Can’t wait for the other side to finally open back up. =) I usually order a salmon burrito, ceviche, calamari fries, and the fried pickles, but I haven’t ordered anything on the menu that I have not liked. That being said, get ANYTHING and you WILLNOT be disappointed! Freshest ingredients and the most portion for your money; most bang for your buck and definitely worth every penny!!!

This is my first time visiting since it reopened. I had my usual– ahi poke burrito. I’m not totally thrilled, but at the same time not completely disappointed. The burrito is noticeably smaller– LITERALLYHALFTHEGIRTH– of the original. I noticed they added black beans and some other unnecessary ingredients to the once perfect burrito. It only takes up space that the ahi poke previously occupied. What a downer. I drove across town expecting the same burrito. The one where the poke would burst from atop the tortilla following your first bite. but it was a let down all together. It didn’t taste bad, but neither did taste great. The fish used to be the star of the show. Now it’s just another ingredient whose flavors are muted by the other unnecessary things– mainly those black beans. So, shared it with my husband who agreed it wasn’t bad, but was no longer worth the price or travel Time to get it. Too bad because I’ve had my share of fish burritos and ROE hands down has always had the best. But alas… New owners. Things change sometimes. 3 stars for all the effort sourcing sustainable seafood. And for the food being fresh AND the really kind cashiers.

Words cannot express the amazingness of Roe. Old and new. Many people begged for their return and it actually happened. The first night back, I brought my dad with me. Which is awesome, because the first FIRST time, I had my dad with me. We spilt a plentiful plate of fish ‘n’ chips and when I asked for a side of ranch dressing, the cute young girl at the register told me they didn’t have ranch. I questioned her, knowing Roe would never do such a thing. Low and behold, not only do they have ranch dressing, they have homemade ranch dressing. Yep, every time I go here, ranch will go on everything and anything. So far the fish and chips, just chips, and the loaded and refreshing cevichos is good with their ranch. Basically and bottom line: Eat here and get the ranch dressing. The people are sweet, the location is easy and simple; and the food is out of this world good. P. S. The next day: I just ate my leftover, mainly brown rice, poke bowl with ranch.

So happy they reopened! The fish here is super fresh and their poke taco is by far the best. The owners, Art and Vanessa are the sweetest, most hospitable people ever. If you want amazing food and service this is the spot!

Passed by this place while on the way to Pier 76 but decided to stop by and check it instead. My friend and I both ordered a clam chowder(or as they call it, chowdah) and shared the fish and chips. The clam chowder was delicious! One of the best ones I’ve had so far. The fish and chips were also good. Setting aside the food, the service is great. The owner, so I’m assuming, was very kind. She offered us waters, checked up on us and threw away our trash when we were finished. Very satisfied with my visit!

I decided to try this place out(again) since it reopened and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Poke Bowl and a side of Grilled Veggies to go because there isn’t a lot of seating inside. — just a bar with maybe 10 stools. The food came out really quick and he price was reasonable(especially since the fish was really fresh). The veggies were good but maybe a little too oily. But the Poke was fantastic! it was very fresh and full of flavor. And it had just a little kick but wasn’t too spicy. And all the fish for sale in the deli window looked really fresh. I think i’m going to buy all my fish from here now.

I was so excited when I first saw this place, as the menu reminded me of Bear Flag in Newport Beach, which is something that is missing on 2nd Street. My husband and I tried the poke and scallop burritos, which were both very good. The scallop burrito had a slight Japanese twist, so it was almost like Mexican meets sushi, which I loved. The poke was also very fresh and tasty. I would have given Roe 5 stars, but their pricing is high for the quality. Their burritos are listed as market price, and we were charged $ 30 for two burritos(which for comparison, at Bear Flag would have been meatier and about $ 10 less expensive), and one pound of poke was $ 16(which is more expensive than even Bristol Farms). I had high hopes, but I’ll stick to my old stand-bys.

I am so happy Roe is open again! Always a parking spot available right in front because it’s on the far end of 2nd street. Kumamoto oysters for cheap while I wait for my perfectly grilled fish. These guys know fish. And I like that I know where it comes from. They recommended the locally-caught halibut today and it was wonderful. Great sweet potato fries, too. I like sitting on the bar stools and watching people walk by while I eat and enjoy a coconut water. Will enjoy the outdoor tables on the sidewalk when it’s warmer. This is my go-to place for fast, high quality food.

Besides getting the amazing sweet potato fries and sauce out of generosity from the manager, Roes poke bowl was amazing! The sauce tossed in the poke bowl was delicious. Highly recommend it

4.5 stars Best tartar sauce ever ever ever. I got the fries in place of chips with my sandwich. Highly recommend. They charged me $ 4 for the upsell on the fries. For the amount you’re given… Idk minus .5 stars. Husband ordered the fish burrito. He was a little turned off by the seaweed salad that was advertised as coleslaw. I tried it & loved it, but I’m a big seaweed salad fan. Add avocado as an option too & this burrito would have been a 10. I got the fish sandwich with halibut. A bit salty but so so so so good. So fresh. The pickles, the sauce, the seared fish. I will dream about this sandwich.

So glad they reopened. As soon as the poke taco hit my mouth I was in heaven. My fave is the blackened mahi mahi taco, poki taco, seafood banh mi, and ceviche. Service is awesome. There’s a few seats inside and there are outside seating. We usually sit outside with our little one. The lil one is 5 and she loves the black bean and cheese burrito. For a picky eater I am happy that she likes it. She also loves the fish nuggets there, which we call chicken Nuggets heheh
