Best bakery/panderia in long beach. Located off Anaheim in between Pine and Pacific. As soon as You walk in you can taste the authenticity from the beautiful lady’s behind the counter to the glimpse of the workers in the kitchen. Anything you get is fresh and delicious from the breads to the cakes 5STARS Gotta have it every morning

Great selection, goods are always baked fresh and exceed expectations. Best concha bread I’ve had in a long time. Most of the negative reviews lack the appreciation for the cultural goods that this bakery provides. Excellent bolillos and sweet breads. I’ve got to try their cake! Try it out, especially for the authentic Mexican baked goods.

Several times I came in, I got a bad service even I was the first to say hello. The pastries were quite cold when I came at 8 am. I order a cinnamon roll and the personnel dropped it on the side bench and picked up put in a bag and gave it to me! Not cool! I bought some bread too. The bread was decent

The sign out front says they open at 5:30am, however, when I showed up at 1pm I was told they were closed. I explained that I just wanted 4 chicken tamales. The girl said if I came back in 5 minutes they’d be open. She then walks away and says that my total is $ 5. No need to give so many mixed messages when running a business. The tamales were dry and pretty bland.

I was excited to try my very first jalapeño and cheese filled Mexican bread… not. As soon as I opened the paper bag the smell of pickled jalapeños hit me but not in a pleasant way. The cheese and pickled jalepeno stuffed bolillo was just ok. I like the idea but the sour taste of the peppers is overkill. I found myself taking teensy bites of the stuffing and bigger bites of the bread to balance the flavors in my mouth. I also picked up a croissant and strawberry flavored jelly filled muffin. The plain croissant taste as a plain croissant ought to taste. It was flaky on the outside and soft inside. The muffin was crumbly and delicious, perfect paired with tea! I would not come here again just because there’s so many other Mexican bakeries closer to home with a larger selection of bakery items to choose from.

Trying to eat healthy is always a difficult thing. But when you go to Monica’s and you have those potatoes with tacos in it …or tacos with potatoes in it whichever you prefer be sure to get at least 4. The chef lady in the back she is awesome at making hard shell tacos. And they have homemade guacamole with extra lemon that have such a great, great sour taste. I definitely recommend it.

Ummmm… The bread is okay … I went this morning and bought a variety — an elote, concha, puerquito, etc…, I’ve had better that is all I have to say.

On Saturdays, they cook outdoors. I followed my nose from the Northgate Market and arrived here. Bomb Tacos!!! So Yummy! Tried the Beef Tongue and Carne Asada. Meat seasoned and cooked just right! One point taken off because the cook didn’t wear gloves. Didn’t think I would be that type of person to get screamish about this since I’m an island girl born and bred on street food(Bare hands are part of the ingredients…). Though? Worked in EMS for a few yrs — I think everyone is a dirty MFker .Take the negative point with a grain of salt? Will try the stuffed bolillos, tamales and pastries next time.

Long Beach’s Best and Most Inexpensive Croissants! Monica’s is a Mexican bakery and tamale joint. Without qquestion, they make the best croissants and other French pastries in Long Beach, and they are priced at only $ 1 a piece. They have freshly baked racks of these absolutely delicious gems coming out hourly. They also have delicious traditional Mexican bakery products(pan dulce), cakes, and the most favorable tamales. It is on the corner of Anaheim and pacific. Parking on the side and rear of the building.

OMG!!! Where has this place been all my life!!! Two words: stuffed bolillos! I’ve driven by this place numerous time but never did I bother to check it out til I read one of the 2 reviews and the stuffed bolillos sounded intriguing… and I swear I heard angels singing when I took that first bite! They not only have stuffed bolillos, but they also have cakes, conchitas, mini gelatinas, cheesecake, and a variety of other Hispanic breads & pastries. I also tried their sweet cheese bread… yum! I will DEFINITELY be frequenting this place again… and again! I know it! Lol

This is a tiny hole in the wall next to the homeless shelter. .. take from that what you will. BUT, this place has the bomb tres leche cake. They have a huge wall of fresh baked goodies; pan dulce, cookies, and cakes. I always stop by whenever I’m downtown.

I still can not believe this was not reviewed before me. I stopped by last night on my way home and got there right on time. They had just put out trays of hot pan dulce. I went straight for the conchas. O M Freakin’ G I had never had a concha right out of the oven and it was amazingly good. The bread was so warm and the stuff thats on top of the concha was nice and crispy but the best part was that it didn’t just crumble and get all over the place. Mmmm… I seriously need to move away.
