Review being updated to reflect owner’s response to customer service issue. I am very happy that one of the owners, Carrie, reached out to me and resolved a delivery issue that I I expressed to Carrie, any employee can have a bad day and every business deserves a second chance. With that being said, the food here is great, especially the omelets! If you happen to have any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to management as they have shown they are committed to rectifying bad experiences.

Delicious! Try the Chicken Supreme Salad. It has walnuts and cranberries in it. Amazing.

Solid bagel at a cheap price. We went in Sunday morning and got an everything bagel with two eggs and swiss cheese at $ 3.75 which is a great deal. The bagel was fresh and came out fast. There was a line of around 5 – 6 people and moves really fast They’re your usual bagel shop and sell a variety of bagels, cream cheese and sandwiches. They also offer free delivery and each bagels was around $ 0.90 which is great. It’s definitely a place to order for take out, but there are a couple of tables to sit at. I would definitely recommend it for a solid bagel place.

Probably the best«everything» bagel around. Had the whitefish salad on a bagel with cream cheese & tomato, whitefish is done differently here, too many thick chunks for my liking. The one thing that kills me though is the amount of styrofoam this place uses. It’s real easy to serve paper plates and sustainable coffee cups, living in a beach community you would hope local merchants would be more aware but there’s almost no connection to the city and its beaches when you serve a product that most likely will end up floating in our oceans forever. Won’t come back to sit down and eat but will always get a dozen to go, just no plastic bag please.

There are many bagel places in Long Beach. This is definitely my favorite. They have the best bagels and the best spreads. It’s not quite as good as essa bagel in Manhattan, but still way above average. My favorite sandwich is the whitefish salad with tomato and onion. You can see chunks of white fish inside the salad. It shows they care and it tastes awesome!

Cant remember the sandwich I had, it was that forgettable. I concur with the weak fridge selection statement. The bread in this town is awful compared to the Bronx. Doritos were delicious.

The only redeeming quality this place has are its bagels. Everything else was mediocre and the service was absolutely abysmal. We waited forever, and they charged us for someone else’s food and didn’t give us food we ordered. Wouldn’t recommend going here unless you’re just grabbing a dozen bagels.

This has to be the slowest deli in the northeast. We waited forever for our bagel and wrap. My boyfriend’s egg salad bagel also did not have the tomato he requested and they were pretty skimpy on the egg salad. My wrap was quite good, however, but I was irritated enough by the wait to give this place only 2 stars.

Thought I would give this place another try however, they can never get the order correct. Today I ordered a simple egg bagel with butter. Got home, it was toasted. I will never go back. I tired to to give this place a chance again after the last time they screwed up. Previously I ordered Nova w/cream cheese on a bagel. Well there was one slice of nova on it. Times before, they are not consistent. Sometimes cream cheese on both side or upside down sandwich. That place makes me lose my appetite! I will never go back.

Eggs. All. Day. I could probably just stop right there. You know I have mad respect for establishments who keep that griddle grindin’ throughout the day. Beyond those BEC sammies, MBC happens to be a solid establishment. I’ve had bagels with cream cheese, bagel sandwiches(with deli meats), and wraps… all were solid. Their selection of cream cheese is respectable too(still too scared to try any tofu spreads though). The drink fridge is a bit weak, but the homemade iced tea and iced coffee is passable, so it’s ok(you could always stop by Gentle Brew next door for the real dealz). Although the inside can get tight, the line moves fast, so don’t turn around just yet. If you can snag a parking spot, do it.

My wife and I think their bagels stand out in a town where there is a bagel shop on every other block. So why only two stars? The help! They must think that the only thing one has to do to earn repeat business is to make a great product. Not true. It is all about combining great food with a friendly good neighbor attitude, the latter of which they sadly lack. There is certainly an attitude present, but it is not friendly. We have visited several times but Sunday was our last. When my wife ordered my egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich with LIGHT mayo, two of the staff ridiculed her order with remarks about how unhealthy my choice was, and not in a nice nor friendly way. I have news for these folks. They think the loss of a couple of customers when you are as busy as they are is no big deal, but they will learn one day that loss of goodwill is bad karma. By the way, this is not the first time we have been treated with less than a friendly attitude here but it is definitely the last.

Great bagel store — fast, efficient service, and a quality product on par with any bagel store in NYC. The tofu cream cheese is so good I forgot I was eating tofu cream cheese. Great place, and night and day compared to the awful Lido bagel store that takes 45 minutes if there are three people on line ahead of you. Go here instead — you won’t be disappointed

Best bagel store in LB… super quality for the $$. Fast, friendly service… Coffee sucks(I drink it black and black coffee suck most places), but Gentle Brew is next door. Get a sandwich in a bagel here…

Breakfast in Long Beach is a no-brainer –get a bagel from this place! Friendly folks behind the counter, and they’re generous with the cream cheese on those large, fresh bagels.

This is the best bagel place in Long Beach and frankly, it’s not even close. Life’s a Bagel serves pieces of cardboard(and the place itself is a rundown hovel that makes a Hooverville look like Shangri-La). Long Beach Bagel Café is where good food, good service, and reasonable prices go to suffer in purgatory for all eternity. Max Bialystock was open right after Hurricane Sandy and it was a welcomed sight. Their bagels are always fresh, their staff is always friendly, their prices are fair, and I personally don’t understand any negative reviews this place gets. They offer a huge variety of spreads, terrific breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast for two people(including coffee) is always under $ 10. Can’t beat that. As for some of these other reviews… I mean, if you want to say you didn’t like your bagel, or you had some legit issue with the place, that’s fine, but some of the nonsense people spew forth on this site is as idiotic as it is baseless. Like this one I saw yesterday… Perhaps Rory W. from Lynbrook should stick to commenting on places in Lynbrook, especially given what’s happened to the businesses in Long Beach in the wake of the hurricane. I love your head-scratching comment that this place doesn’t sell newspapers. I’ve been there over 1,000 times and I’ve seen the newspapers every time. They are cleverly hidden in a huge stack right next to the cash register. The only plausible explanation is that you got your food and then walked out without paying for it. Or you’re blind. How about also claiming that you«saw them put regular coffee in the decaf.» There is no possible way anyone could have seen that given what those things of coffee actually look like. Moreover, if you actually saw it, why didn’t you say anything? Yes, the passive/aggressive approach on Unilocal is always a good way to go! Max Bialystok rules. If you don’t have an actual comment to make about the food, prices or the staff, then bugger off.
