Best Mexican food I have had in a long time! Fresh tortillas, great carne asada… could not recommend this place more!

Great Mexican food and the service is awesome. I can be picky at times and they have never messed up an order so for that reason, they are great. It’s usually packed when we go so chose a good time… Parking. Be prepared!

This place is over-hyped for sure. Food is good, a little above average but nothing spectacular. 45 min wait and you would think this was world class food! Bar area is cool but again always crowded.

I got the shrimp taco combo plate. How about next time you actually add more than 1 shrimp on each taco. Just because something comes in a large plate doesnt always mean that its better. My plate was deceieved by overload of chopped lettuce and nasty tortilla. Whatever happened to the small sized tortillas?

It has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Long Beach and tonight we had the all time best waitress Sandra she is funny and sweet and efficient the best combination for a waitress to have. Thank you Sandra… ask for her section and give her a great tip!!!

Delicious and authentic Mexican food. This place is always busy, especially on the weekends. The wait is worth it though. I love their guacamole. They have a good happy hour also. I always get the ensenada fish tacos and add the rice and beans on the side. Their rice and beans are the best I’ve had at a restaurant. The only negative is that I prefer my margaritas on the rocks but they specialize in the blended kind and make you promise not to send it back if you insist having it on the rocks. Other than that… a solid place to get your mexican food fix!

Parking spot is small… Service was great. I had the fajitas and it was delicious, probably the best fajita I’ve had. Would go back but with reservation next time:)

HAPPYHOURISONLYINTHEBARROOM! Be prepared to wait and not get service at your table ASAP. They won’t inform you that happy hour is in the bar unless you straight up ask. Also, the man decided to dust right behind out table while we are eating. Not so sure that’s appropriate. Decent food. And $ 6 margaritas

The food is E F’N DELICIOUS! The ambiance is sexi but a bit loud! Family style meals, excellent service! The bar is cozy with an array of drink specialties. Careful you will get E’fd up! They are not skimpy on the liquor!

Very nice and modern Mexican food place that offers a great selection of Mexican food plates. From chilaquiles to mariscos their food is consistently great. I am a big seafood eater and could be very picky and they actually have great tasty mariscos. I order a plate called Ceviche Especial, which is actually not on the menu but it’s probably one of the best ceviches I’ve had. It’s shrimp ceviche with this super spicy red saucy. It’s honestly outstanding, makes my mouth water just by thinking about it. The only downside is that the wait is always long! It’s obviously because the place is great but still sucks to wait every time. I could say this place is probably similar to El Torito, but the food is 100 times better and more authentic, and place is much more cleaner and modern. As for pricing, I think it’s average for the food portions. Overall a great place to have in Long Beach

I was in long Beach for a training and I ate here two nights in a row… that’s how delicious it is. I only eat corn tortillas and they are heavenly here, all homemade and so soft and delicious. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and the host, forgot his name, was so nice and welcoming. When and if I get back to long Beach this will be my first stop. If you live here or visiting go here instead of any of those tourist traps… This is the real deal. Also I always judge Mexican food on the salsa served and this is definitely homemade with a little spice perfect for anyone.

We took my cousin here for her birthday I read the reviews Unilocal and they were not misleading at all. When you see people say that the wait is long believe them and make time for yourself and your party by getting there early and putting your name in for a table. Taking that into consideration I knew that we wanted to meet at 8, so I got here at 7:30 to put our names in it was a party of 5 including a baby. They called our name at 8:10, that was perfect I was really glad I got in early otherwise it would have been longer since more people were coming in after us. Before ordering we all got drinks in the end it ended up to 3 drinks each I was able to try every margarita my favorite was the mango, they were not to sweet not to strong just perfect and with 3 I was feeling pretty good. My cousin enjoyed her bloody mary but she had 3 and said she was not feeling buzzed at all. We all ordered our food a few minuted after getting our first drinks, the food took about 15 minutes to come out but it was fine because the drinks kept us busy as we were looking at the selections they had which was a lot they have a very nice variety and it was all reasonably priced as well. The margaritas were huge and only $ 6 each! I was impressed, definitely coming back just for drinks one of these nights! Our food came out, it was everything I dreamed of my husband and I ordered the enchilidas de la casa or something like that. It was incredible and they gave me so much food I had enough for my lunch the next day and even then it literally tasted just as good! My only complaint is that it was so loud but the ceiling being so high didn’t help so the sound of everyone talking was made louder by that, I could not hear anything the person across from me was saying unless I leaned in close. Our waitress was perfect as well she was patient with us, informed us on the questions we asked and kept the drinks coming. She was very good with the baby in the party she made her smile a couple times too. Overall the night was good and dinner for the 4 of us and 1 kids dinner with 3 drinks each came out to only $ 150 with a $ 20 tip included! YES! I will be back soon Los Compadres!

Happy hour is so good here! Only at the bar and a few tables around the bar. It gets crowded! $ 6 entrees, huge portions. They give you free chips and salsa too. $ 4 drinks including margaritas, well drinks, beers, and tropical drinks such as piña colada and strawberry daiquiri. Drinks are strong! Food wise, I had the steak quesadilla which comes with guacamole and sour cream. The fish tacos were huge and came with an awesome sauce. I saw they also have ceviche on the happy hour menu. I will be back to try this! Service is awesome. They checked in on us often(we were seated at the bar), refilled our salsa FOUR times(yes, we like salsa haha), and were so nice about it!

Bring a friend… Make a friend… Drink with friends… This is a great concept especially when Alcohol and Mexican entrees are served. The Los Compadres franchise has three locations and Anaheim is the best in my opinion. I’ve written a review for their Pine St establishment; so that will be my guideline. Los Compadres is quite authentic when it comes to Mexican cuisine. The chips and salsa are addictive(We usually go through 2 to 3 bowls). If you are looking for something light and refreshing, then the Coctel Vuelve a la Vida and Camarón(Shrimp) Coctel are the way to go. If you are sick or want something warm during the winter months, then go with the 7 Mares(7 Seas Soup) or Caldo de Camaron(Shrimp Soup). I am a BIG fan of the Cheese Enchiladas(a la carte) especially the red sauce. I like to eat the complimentary chips with this sauce and cheese – this entrée screams yummy! Now on to the libations – Cantarito, Mojitos, & Margaritas(see photos) are a must here. I don’t think I have ever left this establishment without feeling tipsy. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday(in the bar area of course) from 3pm-6pm. You should get here early to enjoy the festivities. «May the odds be ever in your favor,» is my advice for you in finding a parking spot in the private lot or in front of the restaurant. There may be a total of 20 spaces available and this place is usually packed from 10am-10pm. Also, be careful parking across the street in the Food 4 Less lot, you may get towed. Side Note: I’m not the one driving after drinking all that tequila and/or rum. No buzzed or drunk driving. #safetyfirst

I absolutely without a doubt love love love this place! Oh my goodness they must have a flock of new born baby unicorns sprinkling magical pixie dust on all the food because I can’t say I have had a single bad dish. My husband and I having been coming to Los Compadres for a number of years now and we can honestly say that they have some of the best Mexican food in Long Beach. They make amazing mole, fajitas, crunchy tacos, carne asada plate, shrimp anything, but what really keeps us coming back for more is the caldo de res(beef & veggie soup). It taste just like my grandmother used to make. It is hearty and full of flavor but never salty. Oh I’m drooling just writing this. The caldo de res is the perfect soup for the quasi cold California winterish months. On our most recent visit my husband ordered their regular enchilada plate. We of course had to get a bowl of caldo de res. I decided to order their enchiladas Michoacanas. Let me first share a word of advise, skip the chips(although the salsa the chips come with is totally delish!) and appetizers this dish is huge and there is no need to take up precious stomach space with anything else. My enchiladas were just like my grandmother made and just the way she taught me to make them. It was like the heavens opened up and said let your grandmas enchiladas appear and voila there they were darn tooting mouth water gooooooood! Now when I don’t want to make them myself I can come here and get them made for me just the way I like them. But not only do they taste just like mine but they also come with a side of potatoes, also just like I was taught to make them, and garnished with lettuce, tomato, avocado and fresh Mexican cheese. I almost feel like they plagiarized my grandmother’s recipe. I was so busy chowing down that I didn’t ask my husband if he enjoyed his meal, but given that he didn’t say a peep the entire time I know that he loved his food. This was one of the few meals we have had in complete silence… yes that’s how good it was! We love this place and will continue to return for more. I’ve mad it my goal to have everything on the menu at least once. Oh and did I mention we love this place?

What can I say that hasn’t been said about this place. First time we went was on a Thursday night. Happy hour until 10pm. Queso Fundido with chorizo was awesome. Get the fresh made corn tortillas with the queso. Carne asada tacos, muy excellente. Refried beans, amazing. Chili Colorado muy bueno. My wife got the flan with the happy face for dessert. She loved it. Good margaritas. Great service. Like I said, «What can I say that hasn’t been said about this place?» Mucho fantastico. Yes, I apologize for my Spanish.
