El Taco Loco No 2

Totally disappointed with this place tonight. I drove there 15 minutes from home because I was craving some good Mexican food and this place was recommended. I looked up their hours and they closed at 10:30, perfect! Well I got there at 9:55, and they couldn’t take my order because they said they closed at 10:00pm. I looked outside the door to see their hours and it also read 10:30pm. I told the lady at the counter that they needed to change their sign in that case, and she just said okay. She should of acknowledged the posted store hours and taken my order! Customer service gets a zero!

Food??? Ehhh, ok I guess. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t stand out;I eat Mexican 5 – 7 times a week. I’d probably try it again if it wasn’t for one major thing that occurred. When I ordered my tacos, the same lady that was making tortillas by hand (no gloves) came over, handled money, and went right back to making tortillas without washing them. Would u go back??? Had I been a health inspector I coulda closed them on the spot! Fasho

And all that for $ 1.50!!!
I’m a Mexican girl who DOESN’T crave tacos or Mexican food. Yeah, that’s right, I said it, I don’t crave tacos! But, the birria, buche, lengua, and chicharron tacos have me rethinking my decision. This place is legit. Yes, it’s a bit divey-​looking, and if you go at 9 PM you may fear for your safety, but don’t let that stop you! Just go earlier, or roll out with a group, you won’t be disappointed.

Great tasty homemade tortillas. All the food there is delicious. Best lengua.

This place is legit! Just randomly stopped here for some lunch. Carnitas tacos are super duper.

Best taco restaurant in town, service is excellent and the food what can I say just delicious !!! To add even better service to customers they also have menudo everyday :)

Place has excellent birria, no fat or small portions. Clean food, tastes super good and prices are very affordable! Will def come back or order to go.

Had the breakfast burrito. The chorizo was borderline terrible, but the salsa was ON POINT. Super hot and super delicious.
I’m going back just to eat more of their salsa and try something else.

I’ve only been here a couple times. the chorizo tacos are excellent, and the fries are seasoned very nicely. I would given 4 stars, but the prices for this place are pretty high for the location being in the semi-​ghetto. just stopped in to meet a friend. I’ll probably stop in and order something else eventually and may update this review and star rating. only time will tell…

this place has never let me down, foods just like mom makes, (but not better ;), and my spaish is getting better! lol

This place deserves ZERO stars! Will never go & buy food here again tortas were all soggy !! Shrimp cocktail was all just water no vegetables nothing just plain, & to top it off i found a HAIR on my tacos !! They are dirty everything i ordered was just horrible i do not recommend this place to anyone

So I wound up here after going to two other places I have come here a hand full of times before. T burritos are good it’s what I get when I come here. But I was in the mood for nachos. So after going stopping by two other places and one not even selling nachos and one telling me that it would only come with nacho cheese and meat. Oh but they would sell me a side of beans but not put them on the nachos. what the heck is going on how can it be so hard to find nachos with all the Mexican places. So back to this place like the burritos so I checked with them and the did the nachos my way good stuff. Darn now I want nachos!!!

Tacos de chorizo and chicharon with a large horchata is all I need. Grandma gets the caldo de res which is also a good pick. Pretty big menu and they’re usually pretty quick with the food.

I tried the Torta de Carne Asada. It was okay. It was not bad. The meat was good. The Horchata was tasty too. But for the prices, I know better tasting places with better tasting meat.
I did not like that they had no bathrooms to wash up. I would recommend taking your food to go if you do eat at this place.
They only accept cash. The customer service is poor. It helps if you speak Spanish.

Really good Mexican food, bomb salsas, nice people. Been going here for years. Burritos are good Tortas are really good too I recommend eating here there’s so many things to choose from, its all good.

I really wanted to hate this place because they didn’t have a bathroom, or an air conditioner, and had flies working as busboys, but when the tacos came out, I pretty much forgot about my disdain. The fish taco is grilled Tilapia. It tasted fresh and wasn’t over filled with sauce and lettuce like most places. The Carne Asada had great flavor, soft, but was borderline dry. The real hero was the read salsa; smokey with a lingering kick, but nothing too crazy. For a 1.25 a taco (1.50 for fish), I’d come by again. Next time I’ll try the chicken, carnitas, and birria.

BOMB! i come here maybe once a week. Live only a few blocks away. Definitely hits the spot when i want some mexican food. Very nice people, super friendly, and welcoming. Prices have increased over the years but completely understand.
They make a great burrito and the chili sauce really spicy. Tacos are pretty good, they are quite big, usually about 4 of them, gets me full.
Had some fried tilapia the other day and it was delicious!!! definitely recommend this place.
I found the jukebox player annoying so for the most part i just order to go.

Okay so I’ve lived in lb for the last 15 years and it has its fair share of bomb Mexican spots but this place blows them all away.
They make everything fresh and I mean everything including tortillas, beans, and the meat which is grilled to order. It is also super cheap. You won’t find a bigger taco for 1.25!!!
It is however in the hood and they don’t even attempt to speak English there. But if your in long beach and can’t muster any espanol then your probably better off at Taco Bell anyways.
I’ve been coming here for years and its become the spot in which I judge other Mexican spots by.

Five star, not only for such a GREAT value (aka cheap), but the tacos are sooooo tasty.
They seem to offer all sorts of goodies such as chicken mole, burritos, hamburgers, French fries, tortas and the list goes on and on.
I tried the $ 3.67 special. No, you did not read this incorrectly. 3.67 to include (4) well sized tacos, AND a soda.
Once upon a time there was a taco bell commercial which the guy dug under his couch for enough money to go to taco bell… He should have gone to Taco Loco instead.

Wow!, Those are the biggest $ 1.25 tacos I’ve ever had… You know how it is, you walk in, praying that you’re not going to feel ripped off like you do at Tacos Mexico for $ 1.50 for some tiny taco.
El Taco Loco offers a tremendous value for $ 1.25…Wanting a taste of everything, I nearly felt bad ordering one of these, one of those, etc… as everything is of course made to order and grilled up in front of you, but as I saw the guy in front of me order 4 tacos de tripas, 3 de chicharron, 2 de asada, etc… I knew that my simple 3 tacos and a jarritos order wouldnt be a problem. End result, Tasty!
Took some time to get my order, but that’s how it goes when you’re getting fresh food… this is not Albertos pulling your meat from a tub like you were at Subway.
Insanely affordable… great value for good food! If the recession goes on for years like they say, you can bet you’ll be seeing me there a few times a week :)
Only complaint — having a beer here would be muy bueno! Maybe I’ll get take out next time and hit up one of the local dive bars…
