Out of towners from the Bay Area. First time eating dinner here at Awesome Sushi, it was amazing! Awesome roll was my all time favorite, you can never go wrong with yellowtail in a sushi roll. Staff was extremely sweet & attentive. Bonus points for checking in on Unilocal — spend $ 40 and get free dessert. Seriously the best sushi I’ve had by far. On your next stop in long beach don’t miss out on this gem!

This place is awesome! The sushi is fresh and delicious! We got the awesome roll and the sassy kim roll. Both of them were super delicious. Bill was our sushi chef and we sat at the bar. He had our rolls out in less than 5 mins after we ordered, what a pro! Can’t wait to come back and try some more rolls!!! Yum!

I went here to get dinner before my flight. The place is kinda small, you have the option of sitting my the bar or a table. We came around 5:30 pm on a Friday and it was already packed so we at the bar. This place has so much options. I got the 3 item combo dinner. So much food. The service was kinda slow not sure if it’s their peek hours but it takes awhile to get the food and get the bill. I don’t eat the actual sushi so I can’t recommend if it’s a good place or not. I was debating of giving a 3 or 4 but ended up with the 3 because of the service and the location. It’s located at a corner of a busy intersection and the parking lot layout is weird, accident prone.

Special rolls are amazing. They have a lot of different varieties and you can definitely find what you like here. The agedashi tofu is delicious, I’ve had agedashi tofu at other places but awesome sushi has the best. Go during happy hour or for dinner. Great food, great drinks, great service.

This is one of those hole in the wall type places that you wouldn’t expect to be good at first glance. The restaurant is located next to the 405 freeways and is neighbors with an auto shop. It is quite a small restaurant, but not busy at lunch on a Monday. Service is prompt, and we were seated right away and asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered the Brilliant and Awesome role — both of which were good (both rolls around $ 12-​$ 13 each). The Brilliant had a special sauce on it — sad to say though that the fish is not the highlight of the plate and the sauce is what made it very good. I wish I was the other way around!

Sushi is mediocre at best. If you normally eat sushi on a budget, then it can be awesome, but if you eat sushi on a regular basis and know what good sushi entails, then this is not a place for you.
The flavor profile is good, however the freshness and quality of the ingredients are certainly lacking. Fish is not as fresh, the seaweed is a bit chewy and the rice was not soft as sushi rice is supposed to be. The sauces drizzled on the rolls were delicious, but not enough to over look all the other flaws.
The staff was reserved and quiet, not the sushi environment I’m use to; however I did go early to have a late lunch/​early dinner. Tried this place because of the high reviews, but will not return again.

There’s no other way you can describe this place other than what it’s named. AWESOME. With that said, you must try their awesome and delicious roll. The staff is okay, but a big shout out to Nina. She matched everyone’s sake bomb and is very friendly (as is everyone else there). She really makes you feel welcome here and want to return again.
If you are a fan of signature rolls vs sushi, then definitely come here. They have lunch specials during the day that includes a $ 10 bento box.

I absolutely love this place! Nina is amazing! Such a fun hard worker! The rolls are phenomenal I love the midnight at awesome roll! Total fun party place! Sake bomb!!! I drive all the way from seal beach it’s so good!

Heres whats wrong with this place: The special rolls we got were filled with nothing but imitation crab — there was supposed to be spicy tuna in two of the rolls we got but i didn’t see one slice.
These items were way over priced too. I can drive, literally, two minutes up the street and get way better sushi rolls at a cheeper price.
I left so unsatisfied and unhappy. I’d never waste my money here again, and obviously wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

This place is A-​OK. The service was very friendly. This is more of a ‘roll’ house than a sushi house (which is fine, if you like rolls).
They had some interesting, unique rolls.
I appreciate that they have a low carb roll menu.

Came here for the first time for dinner. The place was packed when we arrived around 6:30pm.
We sat at the bar this time. The place is small and the tables are packed together. People who are waiting for a table stood literally right behind us. It was kind of uncomfortable having someone watching me eat dinner.
Food: everything was very good. I enjoyed the awesome roll the most. The dinner combo offered a generous portion. The chicken cutlet was moist inside and it was not dried. The yellowtail dish here was very good too.
Service: We spent over $ 55 for dinner and I asked the waitress if I could «check-​in» for the free dessert. She said yes then walked away. She came back a few minutes later and asked to see my checked in. By that time, I have already clicked on «use it now» button. She told me she had to verify that I have checked in and there is a code that she has to write down. I told her there was no code after I checked in. I showed her my phone and it said «Checked-​in». She then asked another waitress to check on my phone. I am just irrated that they did not believe me and why would I lie for 2 little ice-​cream mochi.
The food is good her but I hope they make it easier for the customers to use their Unilocal offer.

This place is solid! They have awesome deals everyday and awesome lunch specials! I love this place. Nena is the best waitress! She’s super caring. I got the mule which I didn’t like and she offered to make me a new sweeter drink that I would like free of charge. I said no at first but she was insistent. Good service here makes all the difference. Couldn’t ask for better.

This is the second time I’ve been to this Sushi establishment and I wonder why I haven’t come back sooner after coming here last night… Sushi is deliciously fresh, and they have flavored sake… I had a pomegranate martini and chased it with strawberry sake or maybe it was vice versa. My entire experience last night was very enjoyable! Definitely can’t wait to go back within the next week or so. Nena and Noemi were so much fun and fantastic. I love the fact that everyone inside gets involved when one orders a sake bomb…
My two favorite rolls are the Z 2 and 747… low Carb and very good.

Great sushi place in Long Beach. The location is kind of in a weird place; it’s in the same center with a tutoring place and a car service to get smog checked. It doesn’t look very inviting from the outside but it is worth going in to, especially if you are a sushi lover like myself.
This place has a great happy hour! Happy hour ends at 6PM, so get there before it ends. On top of the good deals, it has a great selection of food to choose from.
I came here with my friend and we shared a bunch of different rolls and sashimi. It was all pretty good. There was only one roll that I wasn’t as crazy about but that won’t deter me from coming back. They also have a good selection of Japanese beer. I’m not a huge beer drinker but I love drinking Sapporo or Kirin with my sushi.
The parking is pretty annoying. I came on a Thursday night and there was no parking at all. I parked across the street. If you are meeting people, plan on getting there a little early so that the parking situation doesn’t make you late.
