Today was my first visit to a Stride Rite store. I have heard good things from other moms regarding the quality of their shoes. My toddler daughter has recently developed a wider foot and I have had a difficult time finding shoes that fit well. So I decided to check this store out to see if we could find a good match. I was immediately greeted upon my arrival to the store and the sales person told me about a large sale they were running. He offered to measure my daughters feet. After doing so we found several pairs of shoes that we tried on. The salesman helped us to determine that the wide width was best for her. I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to buy a cute pair of shoes here for just under $ 20. The gentleman who helped us went out of his way to make sure we had all of our questions answered and that we found what we needed. He also noticed that my daughter was a bit impatient with the shopping process and he gave her a sticker to help divert her attention. I believe his name was Eric. I have my daughter wearing the new shoes around the house as we speak, to ensure they fit appropriately and if they do, we will definitely be back to this store to buy more shoes!

Don’t go to this location! Go to the Castle Rock or Colorado Mills location instead. Here’s why– The only place I’ve bought my kid’s shoes is Stride Rite. Every few months, it’s time for a new pair, and in we go. During one of our trips, I actually had bought a pair that my mom had already bought for my son(from another Stride Rite location). So I needed to return my pair 2 days after purchase, but I didn’t have a receipt. However, I do have a rewards card, and all of my purchases are saved on it, so I figured they could just scan my rewards card to give me a refund. Nope! They were extremely rude. They acted like I was running some kind of scam. I asked them, «Aren’t you able to just see that I made this purchase 2 days ago by scanning my Stride Rite rewards card?» The woman curtly replied, «No, that’s not how it works.» I asked if instead of a refund, if I could have a store credit instead. No, I could not, she said. Wow. You would have thought I had stolen these shoes with the way she was acting. I went to Castle Rock and told them about my experience, and they looked at me like I had two heads. Within 2 minutes, they had scanned my rewards card, taken the shoes back, and given me a refund. There was no suspicion, no assumption of some kind of scam going on. They can tell from my card that I shop there often. I won’t be going to the Park Meadows Stride Rite anymore. But the Castle Rock outlets and the Colorado Mills locations are great!
