Their spicy beef and beef empanadas are delicious! The spinach ones were a little bland though. The lomito sandwich is good. The Italian sub is pretty good. The salads are good too thanks to the salad dressing they have. Have only been here about 3 times.

I love this place and their products. My favorite are the empanadas, the pizza and the home made alfajores! Eating here makes me feel a little bit closer to my beloved Argentina. There’s also an argentine girl working there that has always been extremely nice and helpful every single time(she’s the one that introduced me to those alfajores yum!). Will definitely keep going back to this place!

Whenever there is a family gathering someone always brings these empanadas and I always eat too many! They’re great!(In my best Tony the Tiger voice) The parking situation is bad but that’s my only complaint.

I tried beef, chick, spicy beef, and spinach. They were all delicious. Spicy beef was spicier than I anticipated and I can eat spicy. I did over order the quantity, but they still taste good the next day. One surprise found was the 10% sales tax. I thought it should be 9%.

I called in an order for a dozen empanadas(spinach, chicken and beef) for a potluck and they were nice and warm when I picked them up. They tasted fresh and delicious with a good amount of filling. Yum! We’ll be back!

I felt like I was back in Argentina. This market is actually a mini market on one side, and the other side is filled with tables to sit at. PERKS: Dulce de Leche… south american beverages and treats… pastas. salads. EMPANADAS: $ 1.59 for one empanada or about $ 15 for a dozen. I have tried every single empanada and my favorite is the pomodoro and spicy chicken. The outside crust is nice and flakey, not hard, very soft. This place is definitely authentic. Each empanada is bursting with flavor. I’m constantly seeing people buying a dozen to go, and when I came on Christmas eve there were so many orders and people buying them to go. I’d recommend buying a dozen and whatever you can’t finish freeze them for later. SEATING: There is never a huge line and I haven’t seen the tables completely filled. I’d say approximately 10 — 4 seater tables. SERVICE: I guess depending on when you come in, can be a bit rude. I came in on ½/15 around 3pm with the rest of family and they were a bit rude guess cuz it wasn’t busy and seemed like they didn’t want to work. I asked for some waters and she repeated in an omg face.“five.cups.of. waters?!“ Definitely come into this mom and pop store, highly recommend it especially if you love authentic south american food :)

Not sure if they sprinkle crack cocaine on these empanadas, but they REALLY are addictive. In the market for some tasty little meat empanadas? Look no further. Continental Gourmet Market is conveniently located off of PCH, when you’re in the mood for some bombdiggety empanadas. Every empanada is made to perfection here… spicy beef, chicken, spinach… piping hot out of the oven, perfect bread, delicious filling… really, some incredibly tasty little treats. I guarantee you won’t be able to try less than three. Priced very reasonably at $ 1.60 a pop. They’ve got a variety of different types of latin products here, including Peruvian and Spanish products. Priced much better than another Spanish store in Harbor City IMO. They have a small bakery area here, but I must say, I think the baked goods aren’t the feature here. I wasn’t too impressed with the cookies. Maybe I just got them on an off day… The chimichurri sauce here is SOSO good… and goes really well with the empanadas. Priced at about $ 1 for a small sample. Really great appetizer or even main course for parties. I’ll sure to be back to pick up a couple dozen for my next soirée.

I agree with previous post, very little substance in the empanada especially considering the price, I hate when this happens its the first time I tried them they were good, but it will be my last cause the price to substance ratio, I don’t mind paying extra for good tasty product but I don’t like greedy companies

Yes the empanadas are delicious, but you have to be careful eating them because you might find something in the fillings. I found a piece of plastic in mine and I’d already eaten 3 of them. I was pregnant at the time too. Eater beware

So disappointed that I found a big piece of plastic while eating an empanada. They really do have some of the best I’ve ever tasted, but after digging the hard piece of white plastic out of my mouth I was pretty grossed out. Felt sick the whole day after this happened. Please do some quality control and make sure this doesn’t happen again, as I’ll probably not return.

Empanadas! The regular chicken or beef are best. The spicy beef is pretty spicy, has after kick to it. They have a nice assortment of cookies too. The empanadas were reasonably priced, but everything else is a little pricey. They sell chimchurri sauce and tons of other international goodies and cooking ingredients.

We come here for the empanadas. They are amazing! They are stamped with a letter so you know which flavor you are getting.

Good empanadas. My favorite, the beef and spinach empanadas. But all were great. And they were all fresh. They offer other Argentinian items too!

I ordered two dozen of their empanadas for pick up and omggggggg they are the bombest empanadas I’ve ever had. I placed the order a day before stating I’d pick them up at 11AM the next day. Sure enough, they were ready on time, my order was correct, and the lady who helped me was friendly(as well as the lady who had taken my phone order the day before). The empanadas were piping hot(which I discovered while eating one in the car bc my fatass couldn’t wait). I ordered chicken, beef, spicy beef, pomodoro, and the ham and cheese. I’m not a fan of chicken(ordered it for other people), but I was told they were good. My absolute favorite was the pomodoro, OMG, yummy pizza tasting goodness oozing out of their perfectly flaky shell. The spicy beef is actually spicy, which I loved! The beef was also very good, but sadly, the ham and cheese was meh. 4⁄5 is pretty good, though! I should know better than to write reviews before bed, bc now I’m hungry. P. S. I parked on the street. I pulled into what I thought was a parking lot. And it wasn’t, it was some residential area parking or idk what, lol. I’m not sure if they have a parking lot.

¡BUENAONDA! I placed an order of several dozen empanadas in advance, which included spicy beef, chicken and spinach. The empanadas were ready at the designated time and were conveniently packed into elongated dozen-sized boxes. Spicy Beef — definitely my favorite. I have high tolerance for spicy hot foods. If you don’t, stay away from this one. Otherwise, it’s spice-eriffic! Seriously, awesome. Chicken — Very tasty. Not spicy. Spinach — Unremarkable.

As I get deeper into my Unilocal experience I rarely give out 5 stars anymore because I understand that a rating like that is reserved for places that are truly exceptional. The establishment doesn’t have to be big or small or fancy or ugly or anything other than clean, consistent, friendly and most importantly provide very good food or services, am I wrong? This small restaurant, in an obscure location, with a small budget, could teach alot of other restaurants how sh1t is done! The Continental specializes in emapnadas and I love empanadas so I was very excited to go. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and the empanadas are some of the best food I’ve ever had on this planet! No joke! Talk to any south bay local and they’ll back up what I just said. They also have a big selection of fresh baked cookies, pies and bread(bread must be ordered 24 hrs in advance). You could set a Ruth’s Chris steak and $ 50 dolla glass of wine down on my left and just one of these tender vittles down to my right and I’d knock the effing steak and wine off the table because it shouldn’t even be sharing the same space as one of these emapnadas. Then I’d pick up my empanada and dine happily… do…itttt!!!

Amazing empanadas! Definitely some of the best I’ve ever had. Bought an assorted dozen of empanadas($ 14.99?). Thought it was really cool that they stamp the empanadas so you know which is which. My favorites were the spicy beef, spinach, and chicken. Beef and pomodoro(pizza hot pocket) were just alright. My recommendation try them all! Had a chance to try the baklava as well which wasn’t very good. Apparently the chocolate alfajore is really good. Will definitely be back for more empanadas.

Amazing empanadas! This bakery is known for the empanadas, that were featured on the food network! They have so many choices: spicy beef, beef, chicken, spinach, pomodoro, ham & cheese. My personal favorites: chicken or spinach, so good! They have a baked goods from bread, pies, cookies, baklava, croissants, sandwiches. We came on a Sunday at 5& they closed the dining area… So we just got the empanadas to go & the baklava & their special: chocolate dipped alfajore! So delicious; it’s like a cookie caramel sandwich. We were all pleased & will be back for more!
