Hong Kong Buffet

After reading the reviews I decided to give this place a shot! I was sadly disappointed. The staff was very attentive and nice however I the food was lacking to say the least. They are a buffet so I was expecting the typical food. They had 3 small bars with hot food and a small desert bar. They have a small selection of sushi rolls but they were defiantly not fresh and just from the looks I wouldn’t dare try them. They looked old and dried out. The desert bar was fair, standard vanilla soft serve, cookies, fruit, and pudding. The hot food needed to be refilled and freshened the fried wonton were hard as rocks, the rice was bland, the food generally lacked flavor. The worst part was when I bit into a piece of kung pao chicken and there were bones or something that was hard and dark in color. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The workers were very nice. But the food was awful. I just moved to the area and the reviews for this restaurant are deceiving

This place has been my favorite Chinese buffet for years. They have friendly staff and yummy, fresh food. Their Mala Chicken and crab rangoons are awesome. The owner is super sweet. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

I was looking for a new place to try in my new neighborhood yesterday for lunch and found the reviews on Unilocal favorable. For a very small place it was surprisingly wonderful! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The variety of food was much larger than I expected. Everything looked great, tasted great and was hot and fresh. Very reasonably priced! I will be back there again

We eat here often. Satisfies our Chinese cravings. Really like the fried sushi. Food is always fresh and hot. Employees are very attentive. Highly recommended. Clearly the best Chinese in Loganville area.

Hands down the best Chinese food I have had since moving to GA. To add to this the staff is wonderful.

Food was hot and tasted fresh. Sushi was a decent standard for a buffet. Has a good variety of food. Great price at $ 8.99 for dinner.

My family and I have been here many times. They have truly stepped up their game. They have renovated the inside and added new products to the buffet. Now salad has been added as well as more sushi. The inside is brighter, cleaner and the food quality is better.

Pretty good! Clean and fresh. Nice to know we have a good buffet in Loganville. Ad says they have recently remodeled and it looks good to me. Sweet staff too. Great price for AYCE.

This is going to be short and to the point:
This is the best Chinese in the area, by far! Not just Loganville, but Walton county (I’ve tried them all) and any place I’ve eaten in Gwinnett also!
And the ladies who work there, while not entirely proficient in English, are super sweet.

Not bad. Selection was not very large. The food in General was tasty. Good value for the $.

This place is my «go-​to» place for «to-​go» Americanized Chinese takeout in the Loganville area. When family comes to town and no one can agree what to eat, this AYCE buffet can make everyone happy. I’ll try other places when I’m not nearby (I have another regular place near my office), and Hong Kong Buffet is the yardstick by which they are measured. However, my review is going to be brutally honest since Unilocalers should know what to expect on their first visit.
THE GOOD
* The owner/​manager is a very attentive and friendly woman who remembers all her customers — even over the phone. She is great, she works hard and her charm is often the best part of coming here.
* The flavors coming out of the kitchen are exactly what you should get from good American Chinese takeout. The eggroll* and fried rice are nearly perfect.
* The portions are hefty, like all the best takeouts are.
* I love, love, love the fried dumplings and wontons — even the ones on the buffet.
* The prices are reasonable — both the buffet and the takeout.
THE BAD
* The staff (other than the owner) usually look unhappy or grumpy.
* The three small buffet tables (plus one dessert/​sushi table) don’t allow for massive variety. Which means that sometimes during the evening rush it gets picked over in a very unappetizing way.
* The flavors are exactly what you anticipate from American Chinese takeout. (Wait, that was in THE GOOD list! Yes, it was; I shouldn’t hope for it, but I wish there was something on the menu that made me say, «Wow! Try this! You can’t get this anywhere else!»)
THE UGLY
* The store is badly in need of an update: what was stylish in the 80s now just looks tacky and sad. Some modern colors and a fresh design could make dining here feel fancier and happier.
* Watching the other local customers, especially at the buffet, can be more disturbing and off-​putting than people-​watching at WalMart. (It’s often a Honey-​Boo-​Boo crowd.) That could improve if HKB goes upscale a titch.
I do love this place — I’m here several times every month. I really enjoy the food and I love supporting a local business owner. I’ve long ago given up trying to enjoy «authentic» Asian, including Indian and Thai. There could be better Chinese food out there, and I know there is worse, but I like HKB. I don’t expect fancy when I come here — just good old plain Chinese, without all the trendy stuff — and I always enjoy myself because my tastes are simple.
One last note: Google maps usually shows this address location 1.5 miles too far east; the address is actually near the intersection of Hwy 78 and Walton Street, just west of Ingle’s.

Love love love them. Everyone is friendly, food is fresh and delicious. eat here at lest once a week. My 5 year old loves the french fries and chicken they offer. I love the seafood. Its just a great place with great people and great prices.
