Great place to stop by for ice cream friendly employees, don’t care for burgers. I usually get chicken basket taste ok feels too breaded and i hate how they changed their fries. But overall always have a good experience with dq. Ps bring back banana cream pie blizzard lol

I have been here before with good results but not so today at 5:30PM. One couple in line ahead of me placed their order with the clerk who then went on her break. There was no one left to wait on the counter and there was at least one other clerk on break as well, both eating in the dining room watching me stand there. I went to the rest room and came back to the counter(I don’t give up easily. There was another couple waiting to order but still no one taking orders. There were people working hard on drive up customers. Can’t explain this one but I hope management sees this and corrects the situation. Too bad. And I didn’t get my blizzard of the month. I did return within the next two hours and received the good service that I had expected from this location and, I got my salted, caramel, truffle blizzard.

Over priced food, unfriendly customer service, and never answer their phone. My son left a flashlight at a table and I tried calling and no one ever answered the phone. Out of 10 times I called. I was unhappy and so was my son.

Great service and amazingly friendly! They were really nice for fast food work. I would love to visit again on every trip through here!

The food is delicious. We came at 2:50pm and had no problems going through the drive through. The staff was courteous while taking our order and made sure we had everything we needed before we left. The problem I had was with my salad. I ordered a crispy chicken salad. The salad, chicken and honey mustard dressing are good, but the bacon tastes a little funny. Unfortunately this was to go and it’s a waste of gas to go back so for now I will just keep picking off the bacon and leave my review here.

Don’t come here if you think you are going to get a quick lunch! 15 min wait for a grilled chicken salad, and manager can’t even come out to talk with you about it!!!

Sans BBQ and Tex-Mex what do you eat while your in Lockhart? I called a few local friends and asked about places along the route from the ranch to the Lockhart Auction Barn; thanks to Little Rooster who was screaming CHEESEBURGER from the back seat we pulled into Dairy Queen. Your not a true Texan if you haven’t dined at one, not sure you really want to be a Texan afterwards. I’m being harsh as Ol’ Rooster’s tastes buds have blossomed beyond the mainstays of fast food America. One close friend texted me the other day warning me to stay away from DQ’s fish tacos… DUH. I’ve got to give the award for the nicest remodel in the history of DQ to the Lockhart location. Myself along with Grandpa Rooster, and the boy strolled in after a long morning of cattle wrangling. Service was friendly as we ordered with the exception of my observation that they didn’t have onion rings like our local DS outlet. The food was decent, my boy with his kids meal and a nice soft serve cone afterwards. I picked the Desperado burger with grilled onions and jalapeño, two cheeses, and BBQ sauce. Anybody else tired of the pile of lettuce to make the burger bigger as seen on TV? I substituted some tomato slices instead; dad’s burger got a thumbs up as well. Alot of folks from Austin talk about doing a BBQ crawl to Lockhart. Hitting every location one after the other. I double dog dare anybody to do a DQ crawl and try to get out of this state. «We need defibrillators in Burnet STAT!»

OK, yes, it’s a Dairy Queen. Don’t be hatin’ on me for reviewing it; it was already here in the Unilocal!database. :) Plus, this actual location has become of a bit of a legend for me and my fellow BBQ diners when we make our regular Central Texas BBQ treks. As weird as it sounds, our taste buds perk up and start begging for ice cream after we’ve stuffed our faces with BBQ. It’s kind of the«two food group» thing; since we typically only order meat at the BBQ joints, this gives us a chance to add dairy and double our food pyramid exposure. And this place always brings the goods. Remodeled since our last visit(sadly, gone is the«medicare corner», although a news clipping is a permanent«historical marker» for it), the styling is fresh, clean and cozy, and they served up some great ice cream treats on two consecutive days after our BBQ feasts. The addition of the«mini» Blizzard is great for those watching their diets that still want a taste of the good stuff. If they serve anything other than ice cream, we wouldn’t know. :)

These people are totally hilarious. There’s a «medicare» corner, a playscape and the poor man who was serving us our blizzards was really confused and kept trying to give us the wrong ice cream. The flip side is that they put up with our hysterical laughing after just having come from a four restaurant bbq crawl. Oh DQ, you crazy.
