Great place, great service, good food. When I go the library, it’s a must for me to go get a sandwich and cookie. Sometimes the wife and I will go for lunch and not even go check out books.

Tommie’s Café at the Library is probably the best café I’ve ever been in. Their Breakfast Bagel is outstanding, and their Almond Rocca Mocca is simply to die for! Not to mention the most friendly staff of baristas I’ve ever met…

I love having a café as part of the library. I stop by often before or after library visits. The staff are friendly and accommodating and remember what I usually order. The outdoor seating area is particularly inviting. The menu is varied to cater to a variety of ages and tastes including children. They have enough breakfast items besides pastries that one can have choices for that meal as well. I am partial to their egg salad sandwich on sliced multigrain bread. The sandwiches here are basic but I prefer them that way. They are not the big thick«gourmet» sandwiches piled high with many different items. This is also a fine place to meet friends for coffee. It’s quieter than some of the other coffee shops in town allowing one to actually have a conversation. I hope people remember to stop by here and make this place a success.

What a great idea to have this cute little café next to the library! If I were a frequent library goer(at this location) I would be so excited about this! If you are a student and you basically live here then this is a total lifesaver! And if you just like to spend your time reading books then *high fives all day*- you are awesome, and will love this just as much. We had great service here. The two ladies working were very knowledgeable about the menu and knew exactly how to make our drinks. They asked if we had different preferences, too, like if we wanted our cappuccino wet/dry, or if we needed room for cream, etc. Not all coffee places ask that, so it was an appreciated gesture. The coffees were good and we were really pleased with our experience here. They sell little brown bags with a meal and beverage inside that you can buy if you are headed to or coming from the vineyards in Livermore and need a quick bite to eat. That is such a brilliant idea and I know people get hungry when they are wine tasting… stop here if you are heading out that way!

Service: This place remembers its regulars and loves to serve. It can get busy during lunch, but the baristas and staff do their best to make sure you received the correct order and it’s all brought to your table unless you got it to-go and called ahead of time. Overall Taste: My recommendation is the Chipotle Chicken Salad Wrap, and then get it toasted on the grill. It is done right without wilting the lettuce. Ambiance: Top hits on speaker, 4 clean 4 person tables, with side tables made of marble and outlets at each corner makes for an excellent place to relax or get work done if you don’t mind people coming in and out. There are also outside patio tables as it does get chilly inside. Price: Reasonable pricing for a café inside a library. They also have a kids menu, I’d come here to eat food quickly or grab a quick coffee as most foods and coffee shops are more located downtown.

LOVE this place. The service always makes me happy. Come here for coffee in the morning… You won’t be disappointed. And I do all of my work at the library so it’s very convenient for me. I can spend the whole day. It’s like an ancient Greek forum – with coffee!

Good prices, coffee and snacks. Sandwiches are also tasty. Excellent for parents wanting extra play time after library story time. Convenient to walk to because of the trails that run through neighborhoods and it’s also close to downtown. Indoor and outdoor seating and a couple toys for kids. Really like coming here. Free drink when using punch card too.

We went for lunch and the sandwiches are typical what I could make at home, they are ok but today we tried the Strawberry Shortcake and it was awful. Frozen Unsweet Strawberries, Cool Whip and a store bought muffin cupcake thing. I like this little café but the food needs to be better.

If I were a real estate agent trying to sell someone on Livermore, one of the first places I’d take them is to the library and to Daily Grind. Friendly, airy, wonderful place. Good coffee and a great atmosphere with a wonderful patio to boot. What’s not to love?

I dont Unilocal. I am too busy to «Yelp» Had to take the time to give the recognition this little café deserves. Best service backed by the nicest team of people I have yet to meet here in Livermore. The food is fresh and clean the drinks are perfect and the setup is perfect for fellow coffee and laptop enthusiasts alike. Henry and his guys have made me feel like a true friend and customer. Now if I can just stop spilling my coffee every darn time. Thanks Daily Grind for making my mornings bearable.

They make an eggnog latte here! This is of high importance to those of us who are aware of certain competitors no longer carrying the eggnog latte. There are other good drinks made here of course. :) Friendly staff! Attached to the library. Seating inside and outside.

1st visit: The«barista» threw hot espresso over the ice in my iced latte, watched it melt, and added more ice which resulted in what tasted like a cup of dirty water. 2nd visit: A different«barista» put my espresso and milk in the blender which was pretty odd(however, it did have a nice frothing effect!). My friend ordered a cappuccino to which the«barista» basically admitted he had no idea how to make. I’m not entirely sure how someone who knows nothing about coffee lands a job as a «barista»(hence the quotes), but I’ll keep coming back because: 1. It’s a great studying spot and 2. The prices are well worth the inconvenience of giving step-by-step instructions on how to make a latte.

The service is REALLY great! The gentleman who served me was VERY nice. The place is actually cleaner than most restaurants I’ve seen; honestly, it looks like it just opened that day. It’s quiet and has wifi/outlets. I love the drinks here, and the pastries are very good. My ONLY complaint is that the breakfast burrito is lacking. It’s $ 4.75, and after tip and tax, you’re looking at about a $ 6 – 6.50 burrito. The burrito is very small and bland; it’s ham, a slice of American cheese, and a scrambled egg with no seasoning or veggies on a flour tortilla. For $ 6, I could go to a taqueria and get a burrito the size of a small infant with tons of ingredients and spices. Despite my minor burrito woes, this place is great, hence the 5 star rating!

So I have been coming to the Livermore library for quite a while to prepare for my USMLE exams, and this extensive amount of studying requires me to be drugged on Coffee lol. The daily grind honestly in my opinion is one of the best coffee shops I’ve been to, and that may be entirely because of the owner/operator being the most genuine and kind business man I have ever come across. The coffee is delicious, and keeps me wired unlike Starbucks =\ I went here for the proximity of the coffee and will continue going here for the amazing service!

This little café at the Livermore Public Library is a treasure! They are usually patronized by retirees(sometimes with grandchildren in tow) and students so it’s quite a laid back and civil crowd in here! I usually visit when my two little ones want a break from the strenuous work of selecting books/DVDs and doing activities at the library! The service is friendly and they take care of their customers. They always cut our croissant sandwiches into small pieces so they can fit into tiny mouths, and they make sure their cookies are warmed up just the right amount for my persnickety kids(as the saying goes«It takes a village»). Wifi is excellent thanks to our taxpayer dollars at work at the library, and it also works quite well on the shady patio and tables just outside the café. And prices are very reasonable — I rarely spend more than a few dollars.

The Daily Grind café at the Library has become my go-to spot for coffee. Henry, the owner and operator, is such a nice, genuine and accommodating guy. More than that, he knows his coffee. He makes the best almond milk lattes and always remembers how I like them. And as a bonus — they have gluten free bread for sandwiches! Gluten free AND Dairy free options? I call that a winner!

These guys just opened. I liked the old coffee shop there too but they had to shut down so the library was without a café for a while. So these guys just opened and they are doing a great job. Henry is the owner and he has other café’s so he knows what he is doing and takes a very hands on approach to training staff and making sure the customer is treated well and the coffee is good. They do a fresh pour here meaning each cup they make will be fresh and tasty. That is fairly uncommon. The prices are really low as well across the board. Very nice to go to the library, check out a book and then just sit down in the café and read a little. it is kind of like the Barnes and Noble experience of yester year just a whole lot cheaper and with better service. They also serve some food which I have limited exposure to but what I had was good. Check it out, I think you will like it and these are the kind of local business people you want to support!
