Our go-to for casual lunch! Tasty hot dogs, great fries, and I like the zucchini sticks! Also enjoy the friendliness of the owners.

I have been going here for years now… I wanted to update my Unilocal review today giving this place 5 stars. Every time I go there for my favorite Dandy Dog Burger. It’s always consistent! Friendly owners who always greet their guests with a big smile and hello.

A solid five stars for some of the hardest working people in town… I love the way the regulars and father owners develop a relationship over time. The food is consistent, which is what one counts one when you need a dog fix…

I’ve grown up with Dandy Dogs in my childhood and adulthood. I’ve seen new owners come and go. I am a fan of supporting local private owned restaurants in Livermore but I will have to give Dandy Dogs a strong 3 star rating. Food and service is great but prices are sort of steep, and business hours are limited for a restaurant. They’re still doing a great job in keeping this long tenured restaurant afloat. I will still eat here 1 – 2 times per month and recommend to others.

Great halal food — get the hot dogs and burgers. Fried chicken was ok. Milk shake was great.

GREAT FOOD-however cleanliness is another story. Notice the sign from the health department that literally says the health department finds the restroom unsanitary for public use??? PLEASECLEANUPTHEPLACE!

Great spot for some good one American halal food. Their menu has a lot of different options. The owners were friendly and greeted us when we first got there. It’s not very crowded every time we’ve been there. We ordered the burgers and hot links. Both of these items were fresh and delicious! The restaurant keeps an old school diner ambiance. I am not sure how many diners served halal food back in the day. If you’re looking for a halal spot and your tired of the same old naan n curry — I would definitely give this a try.

My family and my inlaws went there after visiting Deacon Daves last night, we almost went home because Unilocal said they closed at 8. We arrived at 830pm. They welcomed us and we ordered. We had polish dogs, hot dogs and my son had a BLT evrything was delicious. The fries were perfect. Best hot dogs and sandwiches ever. The owners were very friendly and we had amazing customer service. I’ll be going again.

Solid. You’ll be upping your HDL to sky high limits, but be assured, the flavor is worth it. Very«normal» menu, with some cool stuff thrown in. Peanut butter shake; sounds odd: actually very good. Cool about this place: it’s frozen in time: created to look 50’s with that«made in the 90’s as a 50’s look place» so, it’s cliché and cool all at once. The food was very good: fries, ect. They also have a halal selection: which, while may not be some people’s needs, it does ensure a level of quality in the meat choices. Overall, fun and good!

Bacon burgers were absolutely incredible! This place is definitely a hidden gem… First time visit today, but I’m already looking forward to going back! Prices have gone up a bit, but nothing I worry about!

Good, fresh, tasty, halal hot links, cheeseburgers and wings. I also liked the chicken strips(delicious with BBQ sauce) however I wish they had honey mustard for dipping. Service was pretty fast and friendly. One suggestion for management: put the soda machine in the dining area so ppl don’t have to keep coming to the counter to ask for a refill.

I needed some food in my belly ASAP and came across Dandy Dogs. Affordable non-fast food junk food? Sold. The first thing I noticed was that the place feels a little run down. There was even a sign that said customers couldn’t use the restroom per the health department(or something to that effect). Anyway, I ordered the Jumbo Dandy Dog and Onion Rings. The hot dog was okay and the onion rings were delicious. Everything is made to order so you need to be patient. Service wasn’t very friendly or professional. I can’t imagine I’ll return any time soon, unless I really need some onion rings.

We ordered 2 hot dogs and 1 sandwich with fries and onion rings on a Tuesday. We were the second group in line, no one behind us. The 1 worker proceeded to take our order and we assumed the order would be out within a reasonable amount of time. During our wait a large group of people came in to the store, who obviously knew the worker because he permitted them to walk in the back and behind the counter. As we waited we noticed close to 15 minutes from our order time had passed. Then 30. Then 45… An hour and roughly 15 minutes later we received our 2 hot dogs and a sandwich. Not to mention the worker kept serving fresh batches of fries to all his family members and friends. There are plenty of excellent hot dog joints around that don’t completely disrespect their customers. They need to seriously consider taking a crash course in customer service. Save your time and dignity. Don’t be discriminated against.

Some friends and I got the Colossal Dandy Dog. It’s a half-pound hot dog. We paid extra for Chili Cheese and they were fantastic. The beer-battered onion rings are crispy and the garlic fries are drowned in garlic. The curly fries are delicious. I wanted to try a lot of things on the menu and it’s a shame that the drive is about an hour. The whole place is set up like a 50s diner and it’s very niche and doesn’t try to make itself anything it’s not. I really liked that they didn’t advertise the colossal dog as a ½ lb dog. It’s just«colossal.» Not for the faint-hearted and weak-stomached. Would come back again if I’m ever in town.

Dandy dog has been around a long time. every item is labeled dandy dog, dandy hamburger, dandy shake, etc. they have a dandy small dining area with a couple of dandy tables which had dandy napkin holders on top. menu: hot dog, shakes, hamburgers, fries, onion rings, sodas… sampling: regular 2.95, got dandy jumbo dog, 3.75 –dandy dog was foot long, chewy, tender, some juice, but no flavor. probably not all beef. barely had any condiments on it: relish, mustard, onions, tomato. leftovers –didn’t relish dog.
