Best bake shop in town. Love the fact that they have other sweet treats. I’m not a huge cupcake fan, but I’ll even get those. The chocolate chip cookies and the pecan brownie is the most delicious. Wish they make a couple different types of cookies, but then again, probably helping me save some calories

When I lived in downtown, this was my cupcake place. I loved their strawberry cupcakes with chocolate and a fresh sliced strawberry on top & their strawberry cupcakes with strawberry frosting & a fresh sliced strawberry on top. It’s delicious! Although my daughter only eats the frosting — More for me. I also liked their speciality cupcakes on random days. I’ve had their Oreo cupcake(yummy!). Only sad part is this place is closed on the weekends! I’ve also placed a large order and everything came out perfectly. I loved how each cupcake was individually wrapped.(Cost a bit extra but it looked cute) Can’t wait to go back!

Unprofessional. First of all they made me pay the cake in full up front as opposed to having the option to pay half of it upfront then the rest later. Secondly the cake was way over priced. I could get a cake from Blue Cake company with more options, better taste, and cheaper. Lastly the cake just wasn’t that good. I could have done better myself. Also what kind of bakery does not have any fondant to put happy birthday on top of the cake. Just unprofessional and over priced. I recommend mickeys or blue cake company instead.

I was just walking down the street & happened to stumble on this place of cupcake goodness. I’m glad I dropped in I ordered the strawberry cupcake let me tell you it was DELICIOUS! Tasted just like strawberries & was so moist and it had a fresh strawberry on top with the best whipped frosting. Tasted nothing like those garbage grocery store cupcakes. I should have gotten 2 if id known that it was gonna be that great. I’m not really big on sweets but if you just so happen to be downtown LR definitely stop by & get a snack

I was hoping to purchase several dozen cupcakes and pastry squares for the staff at Children’s Hospital. My son was transported from New Orleans for surgery this week and my family wanted to say thanks to the staff. We asked if the pastry squares could be cut in half. They refused to cut in half for us because they had a bigger customer order they were working on currently. I even asked if they could give me a plastic knife for me to do it myself and they said no. I thought that the owner/manager would want to know about the conversation I just had with the employee. When I asked to talk to the owner/manager, the lady said that the message she delivered was from the owner. So what would have taken this bakery two minutes to run a knife through the pastry squares in a baking sheet caused them a loss of 100 bucks… Must be nice to not need the business!

I really love their cupcakes. That said, I have left Little Rock disappointed several times in the last 6 months because they are never open! We come through sporadically during the week sometimes and stay there one weekend a month. Now they aren’t open on Saturdays at all, never were on Sunday’s. The last few times I tried them during the week they were shut down for«a special event» or «remodeling». If you can find them open you will enjoy the cupcakes, blondies and cookies. Good luck with that though.

The sweet vanilla smell in this establishment will make you eat like you are hungry. Tried a red velvet cup cake and it was so chocolaty and rich, also tried the vanilla, so sugary sweet you feel guilty before swallowing the first bite, but you do it anyway, again and again.

Best cupcakes in Little Rock, hands down. Salted Caramel is king, Coconut is queen, and all the others are delightful princes and princesses.

Just the smell of the bakeshop alone would be enough for me to give it 5 stars but the amazing Oreo cream pie seals the deal for me. The bakery has a cutesy atmosphere inside and very nice staff, prices seem to be comparable to other cupcake vendors in the area. Would buy from again!

One of the best cupcakes I’ve had in a while. Moist with plenty of flavor. I wish I had known about this place sooner but then again. When I came an hour or two after they had opened, they only had several flavors of cupcake so I just chose my regular Red Velvet and had a taste of the Chocolate Chip with co-workers. Can’t wait to try the other flavors. The frosting/icing can be overbearing though(unless you love frosting), but the good news is that it is flavorful and you can easily take off as much frosting as you want.

The cupcakes were moist & delicious, and even the vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting had a ton of flavor. Graham had the caramel pecan, and he said it was delicious… it must have bee since he didn’t even offer me a bite ;)

Was very excited to literally move next door to a cupcake bakery. However my excitement quickly waned when my husband and I went in to sample the goods. The service wasn’t what we would call friendly and the cupcakes were way over-priced for marginal quality. We moved in to Tuff Nut Lofts in March of 2012. We visited Brown Sugar Bakeshop ONCE. It is now August… We have no intentions to return. Our experience was THAT unremarkable. We do frequent the coffee shop(Andina’s) a door down in the opposite direction DAILY. We like to support local businesses. But if a business offers marginal products and service, we don’t go back. Pretty simple equation.

I’ve never had a bad experience with Brown Sugar Bakeshop. I go there all the time. I hold them responsible, because they post such pretty, tempting photos on their Facebook page. I learned to come in early if I want the special of the day. I recently had a Mai Tai cupcake that I shared with my Mom. I don’t think she’s ever had anything beyond a basic DIY. She was amazed. I should’ve brought two! The service is fantastic every time I go. It’s always the same lady behind the counter, and she’s really friendly and seems to recognize me from coming in so much. People gripe about parking, but that’s the River Market for ya… Circle around a bit; you’ll find something.

Best cupcake place so far in Little Rock that I’ve tried. I got the strawberry, chocolate chip, and Oreo cookies & cream. The cupcakes were not AS moist as i preferred, but it was pretty good. It survived many hours in the car! I felt the frosting was a tab bit too sweet. I think I could just wipe off a layer of frosting so it would have an equal amount of sweet and cake. I did pop it in the microwave for a few seconds to make everything soft after the long car ride. I will definitely go back and try different flavors! I wish they had some cool/different flavors on the day I went! I can only go on the weekends. Although I would like to note, I went a few weeks ago one weekend a FEW minutes before closing, and the door was locked. I saw people inside, but it seemed that they were packing up. Now I understand it’s a Saturday and the store closes at 5pm. But I arrived before 5pm, and the door was closed. I was very upset! I almost didn’t want to bring my business there, but I love cupcakes so much I wanted to give the bakery another change. It is a very small shop, so it can be difficult to spot. Driver’s beware!!! The staff were very friendly though and I didn’t think the cupcakes were too overpriced.

I love this place, the owners are very friendly and I always have a great experience when I go. They have great specialty cupcakes(Muscato, Limoncello, Maple Bacon, Blue Hawaiian, Pink Lemonade, Sweet Potato Blondies, Oreo Pie, Strawberry tarts) The list goes on, there is a catch though… they close @ 6 so if you’re showing up at 5:45 looking for the specialties you will be disappointed.(Especially when they tweet a BOGO) I’ve arrived 10 minutes after a BOGO post and they were wiped out. But one thing you can be assured of you’ll never get a day old anything!!! First, they announce their daily fare on facebook if you’re not a fan & don’t get there early the good stuff WILLBEGONE. Second, they also cater also which means they must make executive decsions on quantities for the store vs. the catering jobs. I’ve left without what I REALLY wanted I cannot always make it in time because I work two jobs, flip side same coin, they do have scheduled dates on the weekends to give the opportunity for those of us who can’t always make it during the week to get the specialties. Not everyday is a perfect day for any of us. And if you’re a cook then you know it is an art that has its good days and bad days. And I find more days of good than bad. Ultimately its your decison where you spend your dollars… but dollars to donuts… I’ll take Brown Sugar Bakeshop.

It’s located a few blocks away from the river market, got lucky and found a parking spot right in front, still had 20 min left on the meter even. Didn’t have much of a selection, ended up getting 4 cupcakes, strawberry, peanutbutter, vanilla, and chocolate to take home, however, they didn’t survive the trip, got mushed together despite I took extra care with the box. They were way too dry and frosting was too sweet. I also bought 2 peanut butter, and 2 chocolate chip cookies, the peanut butter were amazing! But he chocolate chips were also too dry.

I really want to give this place a better review… but I am big on customer service & it’s lacking in this place. BUT if you can get past that the cupcakes are good… I moved here from STL and was told not to expect much as far as customer service from various businesses… oookkkaaayyy but I feel if I am paying money. u should be friendly. here are my experiences from 3 different trips… 1) first trip. different flavors(3) were avail. what if I want more of 1 flavor??? 2) 2nd trip… no variety of cupcakes just choc/vanilla 3) 3rd try… they adverstised a shop full of goodies would be avail for Valentine’s day… got there & was told everything was for pre orders only but I could feel free to buy a damn cookie or red velvet cupcake which both I can make at home… If your going to sell cupcakes have a variety(maybe 5) of them… and not just 2 of each… all the time & appreciate the customers who patronize your business… If you like Delicious Cupcakes w/bad customer service… definitely visit here!!!
