The hunt for beef noodle soup continues. On a bright sunny Sunday the search took us to western Long Island where a friend from work recommended a hole in the wall that served some pretty kick ass beef noodle soup. So a 50 minute drive later we found ourselves at QQ noodles, a true gem for Long Islanders. At about 5:30 pm there was already a line forming. There are only five tables that can comfortably seat around 21 people. It’s easy to find parking in the lot for the supermarket although I don’t know if this is official. Friendly quick service. Knowledgeable staff that speak very good English. The menu is full of photos so ordering should be easy. The house tea was also brewed lightly with a lot of flavor. Let’s cut to the chase. This is the best beef noodle soup I’ve had in Long Island. They get it! The soup is light but flavorful. The garnish is limited but the pickled mustard greens are on point. The beef breaks apart in your mouth. I personally would recommend the spicy beef and tendon combo. Soup is more tasty and it’s barely spicy. The tendon is a real specialty that most fakers don’t know how to make. And when they do it’s tough as an eraser. QQ nails the tendon. They nail the beef. The noodles are unfortunately not up to par otherwise it would be five stars. I’m a noodle snob. It’s because it was always my job to cook the noodles when my dad would make beef noodle soup. If I screwed up and overcooked them, my whole family ate noodle porridge that night. Cook them al dente with perfect bite, I’m a hero for the night. Pressure was on. QQ likely cooks a large batch of noodles and cools them under cold water. Then redips into boiling water per order to speed up the service. This is a travesty! It only takes a few minutes more to cook them fresh. The loss in taste and texture is so apparent. Take a note from Japanese ramen houses Or Taiwanese beef noodle houses. Please do the right thing. Don’t reboil your noodles! As for the other dishes, QQ provides quality and taste Baby Chinese broccoli. Slightly soggy. Not too salty. Great to see this item on the menu Soup dumplings. Not a true shanghainese restaurant where these originate from. A very good job. The dough was very tasty and the meat filling was on point. 2 out of 8 came ruptured. I hastily salvaged what dripped onto the cabbage by stuffing it in my mouth. No ginger in the vinegar. A lot of menu items I can’t wait to try next time. Scallion pancakes wrapped around beef. Yum! Bottom line. This is a gem in Long Island and i will drive 50 minutes to come back any day. Maybe I can ask my noodles to be medium rare next time.

This service here is terrible. If you plan on dining in you’ll realize how money hungry the workers are. I had lunch and left the server a tip, only for the cashier to ran back to me to demand a bigger tip. Frustrated, I left the establishment only to look back to see the men laughing with racial remarks. They’ve just lost a routine customer because of that. The food was fine. But the service given to me in this establishment gives me no reason to give it anything higher then one star.

I think this place is underrated. It looks like one of those small, not-so-appealing, on-the-side, and not-so-bright Chinese restaurants. Sure, the décor is not attractive whatsoever, but at least the food is decent and the staff were friendly. I got the spicy beef brisket noodle soup and it was pretty good. I wish it was a bit spicier and had more noodles. But they gave you a lot of meat. I’m not gonna lie, the scallion pancakes were not good. At all. At least the ones I got that day weren’t. They were thin, greasy, and crunchy. Definitely wasn’t a pleasant experience. As for everything else, I guess it will help if they change up the décor and lights, because now it just feels kinda depressing eating there.

First time here. Not bad of a place. I wanted noodle soup so I ordered the shredded pork with cabbage noodle soup. Scallion pancakes are always good. Chicken wings were too bland. My boyfriend didn’t like it much. It’s good for something quick. Better than regular Chinese take outs.

This place makes amazing Scallion Pancakes and Fried Pork Chop over Rice. It’s not your typical Chinese take out restaurant that you see in every town. They offer flavored milk teas, milkshakes, yogurt juice and slushes. And you can add tapioca balls or jelly for only $ 0.50! It’s mostly take out but they have a small dining area with five booths. Free parking in the back or metered parking in the front. I honestly can’t wait to try the other items on menu. If I could I would order everything on the menu and just eat it! But I can’t so I’ll be back again.

This is my first negative review on Unilocal.Food here is okay. Used to be the lunch spot for me and my coworkers. However, because of an unpleasant experience, I don’t think I will ever go back to this place. Since there’s not much service during lunch time, we tipped $ 5(around 14%) which is very normal during lunch time. The girl stopped us from leaving and required $ 6(more than 15%) and stated that $ 6 is minimum for tipping. I didn’t want to be late for work so I changed to $ 6 and left. A server requires customer to tip her on her poor service? How ridiculous is that. Yes, you did get that one extra dollar, but sorry, at the same time, you lose your frequent customers. We are not going back.

Not that good. I ordered here for the first time some chow fun kind of dish. Very bland and not that enjoyable. The owners also looked at me like I was crazy for coming inside. Wouldn’t go back.

Really good authentic food! My favorites are the scallion pancakes and fried pork chop with noodles. If you like typical chinese take out this place is not for you! The place has only four tables so I always order for pickup. The food is prepared within 15 minutes and the staff are always friendly.

I really love this place. The scallion pancakes wrapped around their beef is so amazing. Their beef brisket noodles(stew) is perfect every time. The place is small and not fancy at all, but the people who work there are so nice. Always a great experience. Even the take out is better than other places because when you order the soup, they package the noodles separate from the broth so the needles stay perfect and don’t get mushy. * the quality of the food is high but the price is low!

You can easily pay less than 10 bucks per person here without drinks. Actually, even with drinks you can pay less than 10. Not only do they have noodle soups and rice dishes, you can also get some delicious pepper pork chops or spicy beef entrees. Also, they have coup dumplings, which are decent but you can get better ones nearby. This place is nice because it allows you to satisfy your Flushing cravings without the craziness of Flushing. Parking is very easy via street or lot parking. There are maybe 5 tables so don’t come with a large group, you’ll have trouble getting a seat.

Small little Chinese-owned restaurant in Douglaston serving comfy Sze-chuan food. They are known for their beef stew noodle soup, made evident by the huge poster on their window and 90% of customers ordering a bowl during each visit, me being one of them. There’s something about a big bowl of hot beef stew and noodles that’s really soothing to your belly. I’ve tried their scallion pancake with or without beef, seafood dumplings, dan dan mian and rice dishes … all of which were really good. The service is also friendly and attentive and food is prepared pretty quickly. There were a couple of times where we ordered items to go and they screwed up our orders and/or made us wait a while, but these were minor missteps that are forgivable. I’d recommend stopping by!

Not bad, decent pricing, serves bubble tea also. We ordered the scallion pancake, two spicy beef noodle soup, passion fruit slush and a seaweed appetizer. Overall it’s decent but with limited settings, seems like they cater to take out more. I would order from here again since they deliver also.

Great little dive in the Douglaston area. Schezuan appetizers, rice and noodle dishes and a small dining space that fills up fast. Tables seat 4 at most, if you have 5, they will give you a fold out stool to sit in the tight aisle. For starters we ordered appetizers, scallion pancakes and tea eggs. Pancakes were thin, crispy and delicious. The tea eggs were ok. They like to push the bubble teas here and we tried the cold Ying & Yang, short for a blend of coffee and black tea mixed together, not too bad. Must have lunch dishes: * The spicy and non spicy brisket/tendon noodle soup was hearty, delicious and spiced to perfection. The Meat was tender and flavorful. * Breaded chicken over rice, chicken was moist inside and lightly breaded and not too greasy. * wontons in soup, tasty mixed pork filling. Skip the fried pork though, not very flavorful and I had many battered fried up pieces of pork bone. My fried pork chop meal came with a hot and sour soup which was decent. Another great find in the Douglaston area for good old fashion schezuan cuisine at a reasonable price.

It’s so nice to have a good authentic Szechuan restaurant in this area. I love their beef brisket soup noodles and really enjoy some of their cold dishes like, chicken feet, tea leave eggs, and their spicy tripe. Obviously this is not your typical Chinese take out joint! Their hot and sour soup is super on point and I also really like their maps tofu, although depending on the day of the week, there are some consistency issues with that dish(sometimes it’s not spicy enough, sometimes they don’t give enough tofu, and sometimes it can come a little oily). My fiancé loves their shredded beef and pepper over rice. It’s one of those super hot dishes but too tasty to stop eating. I usually advise him to down it with some taro milk tea, which helps with the burn. The fried dumplings are yummy and they do good job pan frying them. I sometimes find their scallion pancakes a little greasy, but then again, it’s Szechuan food… what do you expect? Try the pancakes with beef for a nice variation. Their sautéed noodle dishes are always cooked well and their salted fish/eggplant casserole is always a nice go to. Whether you’re doing take out or eat in, the food is pretty consistent.

This is the right place to get a healthy takeaway, but mind the slow pace! Don’t be in a rush or starving while waiting! It is very busy but small, making it difficult to eat in. Fried fish & General Tso’ s Chicken are delicious, with perfectly cooked rice. + Good value, $ 6.75 for a meal. + Open 7 days + Convenient parking

Noodle House offers a wide range of popular Chinese(Szechuan, Cantonese, and Shanghainese) and Taiwanese dishes. I’ve ordered dine in, take out, and delivery. Received quick service for all three options. There are about five tables if you want to dine in but it looks like the popular option is takeout. BC’s go-to dish from Noodle House is the Spicy Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. It is served in a bold broth with pickled salted cabbage and half a tea egg. Not the best bowl of noodles, but it is what BC seeks when he wants comfort food in Douglaston. I personally don’t think it’s spicy at all and the broth is a bit too heavy, maybe from the oils. I was pleasantly surprised by the General Tso’s Chicken because it wasn’t as starchy as it is at other Chinese takeout restaurants. Dare I say it almost tasted authentic, but what does that mean anyway? I did wish it was served with more broccoli but the side pickled cucumber was a nice addition. I would say this is a healthier version of GTC. The scallion pancake with sliced beef is good and on par with what you’ll find at other decent restaurants in flushing. I can’t say it is prepared consistently because sometimes the marinade on the beef is overly sweet and other times perfect. All in all, Noodle House is convenient if you are looking for a quick Asian bite in the Little Neck area.

I really like Noodle House and would like to try more off the Menu. Spicy Beef Noodle Stew: Not Spicy, but Delicious, just like moms! Wish there was more pickled mustard! Scallion with Beef: I thought only Niang Xian Soup Dumpling House had these! Well they weren’t as good but they were still Nom Nom Great! These didn’t last long. Pork Chop Noodle: Holy Fried Pork! You get an ENTIRE serving if Pork Katsu, like 2 filets, and THEN you get rice AND Noodles with Soup! For like $ 8! WHAAAT!!! Sauteed Salty Beans: This was a disappointment. You get a HUGE serving but it wasnt crunchy, it was fat and a little mushy and at $ 9 it was pricey compared to the other dishes. But this won’t deter me from trying other things! With my parents in Taiwan, this place really made me feel as if Mama was home cooking again!

This place defines the term«hole in the wall». I haven’t a clue how long this place has been around, but boy am I glad it does. It’s kept neat and clean for a small place and because it’s not a date spot where you would head to make googly eyes at your significant other or a place you’d yammer away about the goings on in your life with dear old friend, the turnover is very quick. We happened to be able to walk over from where we were but that there is parking everywhere surrounding Noodle House certainly is a plus. Let’s face it, Flushing is great for this shit, but it’s the zoo that it is that makes people a little loopy about getting there. It’s not a go out of the way just to try place, but for what it is and where it is, it’s very gem — ish.

What a gem. I’ve been getting haircuts at Serge’s directly across the street, and I never knew this place existed. For shame. My friend recommended we have lunch here because of their beef noodle soup, so naturally that’s what we ordered. I had the spicy beef noodle soup, which has huge chunks of melt in your mouth beef and tendons in it. For appetizers, we split the string beans and the scallion pancake. I don’t know how they make their broth, but it’s the perfect blend of Szechuan spices, chili oil, beef and love. That broth was good enough to chug. But don’t. Because it’s hot. The string beans were too too salty for me, but they were cooked smartly; just enough to maintain the crunch, which is perfect. But watch the sodium! The scallion pancakes were like scallion pancakes. Nothing to write so yeah. PS: their slushy isn’t the greatest. Save the $ 4,
