Wonderful combination Italian-Mexican. Calamari with the tomato sauce is outstanding. Very tasty tomato sauce. The enchiladas mole is fantastic. Flan dessert great. You have to come here

This is a 4 month old restaurant close to the heart of Lincoln Park. They serve both Mexican and Italian dishes, which is interesting. Also, they serve complimentary chips and salsa while you wait for your food. They bring two cups of salsa out. One is a standard saucy type of salsa and the other is chopped up onion, tomato, peppers, and cilantro. We only tried their Italian dishes: chèvre eggplant and penne prima. Both of them were pretty good. However, with basic vegetarian pasta dishes like we ordered, I feel like you can easily make the same thing with a bottle of sauce and noodles at home, but the presentation was nice and it did taste good. Our meal also came with vegetable soup, which was full of big chunks of vegetables.(I actually meant to order a salad. The owner didn’t ask if I wanted a salad or soup, so I guess he just assumed soup. The soup was good so it worked out.) As a side note, the prices are on the high end for this area. My main complaint is that I ordered a «Chèvre Eggplant» appetizer, but I did not notice any chèvre, which is the main reason I wanted this because I love goat cheese. There was cheese on top, but I believe it was mozzarella by the taste and texture. To give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the goat cheese was in the breading of the eggplant or in the small amount of sauce they placed the eggplant on, so I couldn’t taste it. Other than lacking a goat cheese taste, this appetizer was excellent, the presentation was nice, and the sauce that came with it was flavorful. The owners were very nice. It’s great that there is a higher-end restaurant like this in this area. As another reviewer mentioned, you can tell that they are still bootstrapping their business(for instance, they used the base of 2 liters for flower vases, which was cute), so I would definitely come back and try it again in the future. Plus, the brunch menu and pictures look amazing, so I’ll definitely have to come back to try that!

Very charming restaurant. The lasagna was excellent and the minestrone soup was the freshest I’ve ever tasted. Will definitely come back to try their breakfast menu. Only downside is their location. You could easily drive past unaware of its presence unless you are specifically looking for it. It looks small but it’s very spacious inside.

Had a really nice, quick dinner with my parents here a few months back while I was in town. I was really impressed with the quality of the food, both in terms of taste and presentation — whoever is running the kitchen is obviously making a serious effort across the board. Prices were normal for downriver but compared to where I live(Ann Arbor), having food this good at the price we paid is basically unheard of. It also seemed like this was a family endeavor and they are doing all the things that matter right in an area that desperately needs quality businesses, so I definitely hope things work out. Please give this place a try.

I am conflicted. This is either a middling 3-star experience or a weak 4-star. But they are still boot-strapping this business, so I will return and expect more. For our starter, we were offered a choice of salad or minestrone soup. We both chose the soup. Very fresh, crisp veggies. Served piping hot. No noodles. No protein. The base was more of a broth than the heartier bases I associate with minestrone. That said, in Italy, minestrone recipes vary significantly. The ingredients were excellent — very fresh. The cooking of the ingredients was at done at the expert level. The food was served hot. But I am uncertain that I got precisely what was described on the menu. The menu said … Sinfonia Di Mare; Linguini, littleneck clams, calamari, mussels, scallops, shrimp, white wine sauce. It was delivered with a red sauce. I expected a white wine sauce to be, «not red.» Are my expectations are askew? My companion loved his Linguini con le Vongole. Fine dining prices for a not(yet) fine dining experience. The space looks to have been recently remodeled and is bright and airy. No soap in the Men’s room. No WiFi. CCW seemingly allowed. Will I return? Absolutely, yes. They will begin serving breakfastbrunch on Jan 11th.
