For those of us who remember The Colonial Bakery that was in Depoe Bay during it’s heyday of deliciousness, this place’s wonderful donuts remind me of that era of coastal donut excellence! I stumbled onto this donut shop a few years ago because of Unilocal and I am back to return the favor to others looking for a succulent treat in the Lincoln City area! I came in today with my folks, and this place did not disappoint! Everything is made on site daily, and sometimes you can watch the donuts being made. Today, we ordered a to go box dozen, and a few to eat with our coffee while we lingered at the end of our vacation. The plain glazed were just what they should be. Light, fresh, with a thin coating of sweet glaze. The lemon filled Bismark dusted with powdered sugar that my mother ordered was reported as excellent. Sweet, with a freshly squeezed lemon flavor! I had a cinnamon twist and later devoured my buttermilk cake donut bar. The flavor of the fresh oil that they fry the donuts in is apparent rendering an extremely fresh superior moist texture and flavorful experience. We have yet to taste the rest of our dozen to go, however I leave you with this final thought. If you are in the area and want a good donut, look no further!

We just happened to find this place. We saw it when we were grabbing a few groceries at Safeway and decided to give it a try. The coffee is decent and drinkable. I am a Portlander with several friends who roast coffee– one who fire roasts it… So decent and drinkable to me is probably good/excellent to someone who drinks the typical chain coffee. It’s way better than coffee chain store coffee… Anyways, on to the donuts because it is, after all a donut shop. The kids ordered chocolate/maple bars and they were really happy with them, gobbled them up and asked if we could eat here again. My husband ordered something chocolate glazed and cream filled. He ate it without complaint and he’s not typically a sweets for breakfast kind of guy and he drank his coffee. I ordered donut holes– it’s how I decide if I am going to like a place or not. I had half the regular glazed donut holes and half buttermilk glazed donut holes. The regular ones are ok– I gave them to the kids. The buttermilk donuts were really yummy! This will likely become our donut place when we stay in Lincoln City. It’s pretty small inside– a lot of people came in for donuts to go while we were sitting in there. They sold out of bear claws, cinnamon rolls and a couple of other things while we were there– so they clearly have some customer favorites.

Donuts are either good or awful. These are really GOOD! Found this place by accident, and I’m glad I did. The very friendly young woman who is always there in the morning has a great service attitude, and the donuts, whether plain cake or pershings are perfectly made. Highly recommend this place, and will send visitors there too!

After visiting this establishment I am very suspicious that some of these terrific reviews are questionable. The donuts here are barely grocery-store quality. My maple bar had a tasteless doughy base with tasteless frosting. C– at best. About the only thing good I can say is the location is good and there is plenty of parking, which can be an issue in Lincoln City.

Small — friendly — yet awesome because you can actually see them making the donuts! So you can’t debate in respects to freshness.

This place was GREAT! We were greeted by the divine smell of fresh donuts as we got out of our van on a rainy Sunday morning in Lincoln City. As we walked in the door we were welcomed in with a big Hello from the lady behind the counter. We informed her we had never been in before but we really wanted some yummy donuts. She was very friendly and helpful and pointed us in the right direction. She even gave our daughter her first donut hole on the house! Our donuts were incredibly fresh and super tasty! This is a great little spot! We would recommend the Bear Claws, the apple fritters and my son said he would recommend the doughnut covered in sprinkles! So fun!

We lobbied for my father in law to try another bakery with an interesting name, but he insisted on donuts from here, and when he arrived home(well, at our rented beach house home) we could see why– holy moly, such big yeasty sugary deliciousness! A cinnamon roll donut bigger than my child’s head, no really! A «bear claw» donut stuffed with almond paste! A huge greasy yummy apple turnover of a donut! Wow. And Cheap! I don’t even like donuts but the bearclaw got me. You could put almond paste in an old shoe and I might consider eating it. This was lots better than a shoe, though. Too many weight watcher’s points to confess here, lets just say I ate salad and grapes the rest of the day. Yum. Paired with coffee and an ocean view, this was a good move on my FIL’s part.
