I have had my wife’s scion done here in the past from a rear end collision and even a year later it still looks beautiful. Thanks Libertyville auto body. The staff was nice and friendly.

I used to be a fan of Libertyville Auto Body but not so much after my experience this time. After dropping my car off I never got calls about my repair status. I literally had to call every time and ask about my car… It gets irritating after the first few times, not to mention the agent I had to deal with truly sucks at his job. Dealing with LAB this time around felt unprofessional and lousy. I will not be bringing my collision repairs here from now on.

Wow, I have no problem with a company offering a service and making money but I prefer not to be dragged thru the ringer. $ 900 to swap out a rear bumper seems a tad high considering I can do this myself for about $ 150 bucks. I mean they need to make money but $ 750 over what I can do it for, EBAY here I come.

I had practically totalled my car and when I got it back it took a month but it looked brand new. I couldn’t have been happier with the customer service and constant updates. I highly recommend even for a quick car detail!

Recently the door on my Infiniti G37 was damaged due to the high winds in the city. it flung open and hit a concrete pillar in front of a friend’s building. Libertyville Auto Body (LAB) was suggested by a friend as a great place to get it fixed. reliable, good workmanship, etc. However, I ended up having an overall horrible experience, and am still dealing with having my car properly fixed due to the lack or poor service and workmanship from LAB.
From day one the customer service was poor. The Service Specialist I dealt with — Andrew Kimura, was very poor at — returning calls, following up, and keeping me up to date on the progress of my car. Since I was claiming this through insurance and went outside of my insurance company’s recommended body shops I was kind of «on my own,» and thought that I would be fine since I was a referral from a known contact. However, this was not the case. I had to follow up several times to get status on the work being done on my car to know when I would need the rental car until. When it was finally ready, I went to pick it up and the key was left with the receptionist and I was just told the car was outside. Andrew did not take the time to walk me to the car, thank me for my business, etc. even though I called him in advance to let him know I would be there in 15 minutes to pick it up.
When I inspected the car before driving away from the body shop I noticed paint residue on the inside of the car. The battery cover was left on the floor in the back of the car, loose ends were not tied and put back together when they did their work. When I drove home that day there was wind noise coming in from that side of the car which means they did not set the door/​window back properly after working on it. The car was not even washed on the outside after they had completed working on it. I had to take it to my neighborhood car wash and tell them to get all the paint residue out from the inside, which they charged me extra for. After the car was cleaned I noticed new nicks in the paint that were not there before I left the car at the body shop. I am certain of this because I wash my car every 2 weeks and walk around it so I know of any new damage. 2 new nicks were on my car that were not there prior to dropping it off at LAB.
When I called Andrew to let him know of my dissatisfaction with their service and work he did not return my call. I had to have the receptionist connect me to the Owner — Dave. He finally called me back, and was one of the rudest business owners I have ever dealt with. Very condescending and totally lacks any customer service. When I told him about my experience he hesitantly told me to come in and that he would take a look but no promises. When I went in he was very rude and unwilling to acknowledge any fault. I listed all the problems with their work and he said the nicks were not their fault and that I probably did them myself. He said they wash all their cars so he wasn’t sure why mine was not washed, but did not apologize for it. He told me to go back to my dealer to have the window/​door set properly because he said they did not take the door off while repairing, even though I told him the wind noise was NOT there before their repair work. He offered no recourse other than saying I could have those nicks redone by them for 15% off and the estimate he gave me was extremely expensive. Why would I go back to get more work done with them when they treated me so poorly?
A few months later Andrew called me out of no where, and said I did not pay my deductible which was $ 250, even though I had visited the body shop multiple times and was not trying to avoid payment. I thought I had paid it when I dropped the car off, so I was under the impression it was taken care of. They had several opportunities to take the payment from me in person when I visited their body shop just days after my car was complete. Now that he had to collect money he was very timely and prompt with calling me. I happened to be out of town for back to back weeks for work, and did not have time to return his calls. After leaving a few messages, he called again and said he was going to involve an attorney if I did not pay. Really? This after all I had dealt with and am still dealing with trying to get my car back the way it was. I called him back and made the payment and told him they would never get my business again, and that I would do everything I could to let everyone I know about my experience. His exact response to me was — «That’s fine all we need at this point is the $ 250.»
I am still working on the wind noise on the passenger side window with other body shops. Over the Memorial day weekend someone hit my car while it was parked, and you better believe I did NOT take it back to LAB!

This past month some nice person put a huge door edge dent in the fender of my Acura.
I tried Libertyville Auto Body’s paintless dent removal and for a very reasonable price, they fixed my car up like new.
I feel happy that I was able to get this taken care of quickly and at a reasonable cost!

My Toyota dealer recommended Libertyville Auto Body after I was rear ended back in December.
Prices? How should I know? I didn’t have to pay for it! The other guy’s insurance paid for it!
But, I was very happy with the workmanship and professionalism. It can be hard to reach someone to find out what’s going on but they call back.
We had one problem which freaked us out; after picking the car up, we noticed the satellite radio didn’t work, nor the CD changer. We thought they may have screwed with the wiring, since they had to replace the tailgate. We turned around and brought the van right back. In the morning, Andrew (the rep we dealt with) tried the radio and cd changer and it didn’t work for him either. We were told we’d have to go to Best Buy and have them look at it, since they put the systems in. I made the appointment and was going to take the car back with me but before I left, I tried a number of things before finally popping off the radio’s faceplate and pulling out the hard drive for the cd changer. Put them back in and suddenly I had music! So, it was nothing that they did, it just needed to be rebooted.
We’re so pleased with the job that we will be going back to them to have the dents in the driver side door repaired.
