The service is always excellent and the food could not be better! Excellent wine selection!

As usual the service was wonderful and my meal was too. Thank you for being a reliable option!

The service here is incredibly slow. We were standing waiting at the bar to order a drink for over 30 min. Then we were finally seated and as I am typing this review we have been waiting for 15 minutes and have yet to have a waitress even approach our table. On the plus side the hostesses were very nice and friendly.

Liz was our server. She was great, no nonsense, but did her job very well. Shared a special farmers market salad which Liz had split for us in the kitchen. It was really good: yellow tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella with sliced almonds with a nice vinaigrette. The bread was good & warm with soft butter. Had the French blend by the glass which was also nice. Liz suggested a taste before I committed. Had the snapper special — good but not great. Spouse had the mussels & fries which were good. Espresso machine was broken unfortunately. All-in-all a nice dinner. Again salad was awesome & so was Liz!

Lovely quaint restaurant… parking can be tough during the dinner rush and some areas around the restaurant tow, so be careful. Great place for a drink and appetizer– the crab dip was perfect with both baguette slices and blue corn chips for dipping. I was not impressed with the salmon ceasar salad. I prefer to have my salad chopped up for me, rather than having several whole leaves piled on a plate. More than that though, the dressing bothered me. It tasted(and looked) like pure mayonnaise. The salmon portion was small and very over cooked. I like my salmon well done all the way through, but not crunchy on the outside. I was at the Tulip for a meeting– I have to brag a little bit on the service and size of the private room. It was certainly a great meeting space. I noticed the patio on my way out, which looked fun for people-watching. Next time, I may stick with an appetizer and drink.

This is a lovely upscale, and expensive, restaurant, however, I cannot give it props for the food. I always take note of the appearance of the plates when they’re brought out to the diners — I’m a visual person. The food, although attractive in presentation, appeared rather sparse on the plate. I had the mussels. They were good and plentiful enough even though they were an appetizer. I know I ate too much of the baguette, dipping it into the creamy sauce. The pommes frites were good, and served with three different sauces. One of my dining companions had the ravioli filled with celery root purée; while the asparagus cream sauce was quite good(and gave me an idea for my home cooking) there were only three, yes three, ravioli in the dish. Seriously? Another ordered the goat cheese salad, which appeared to be mostly spinach, and little else. You get the picture! Our server was excellent, but three out of the three out of the seven tabs were incorrect. I will not be tip-toeing through this Tulip anytime soon!

It was our first experience at the Tulip Bistro. The food was incredible! Matt our server was excellent. The Braised Short Ribs were one of the best things I have ever eaten. Definitely one of our favorites in town.

If you’re a privileged, entitled lout, and want to socialize with other privileged, entitled louts, while grinding lesser mortals under the heel of your Bruno Magli or Prada pumps, this place is for you! It used to be a very good foodie location, but the Richie Riches have swarmed in like a pack oh Hell’s Angels and taken over the place. Self-satisfied, elderly yuppies stand around the bar, crowding out into the dining area, congratulating each other on their latest purchases, leaving other, paying diners to try and shout to be heard within their own parties. At a recent visit, a friend of mine arrived first(we had reservations), and after asking the men standing in front of our booth several times to move so she could get out, with no success, she had to physically push one of the 1% out of her way to get out. Alas, the management seems to wink at, if not actually encourage, this loutish behavior, so I won’t be returning, or advising any friends to patronize this restaurant. «Tinkerty-tonk,» I said, and I meant it to sting!

The food and prices here are upscale, but the intriguing menu was just not that good for the prices. I ordered a Caesar salad which came as a hunk of Romaine lettuce with the other ingredients arranged on top. It was an attractive dish but awful in terms of taste. There is a reason Caesar salads are tossed. I was not a fan of the«some assembly required salad». Three people at our table ordered the mussels but requested a different sauce. Anise and cream appear to have scared us all off. The white wine alternative is not on the menu but was delicious. I’d urge Tulip to advertise other mussel sauces and to add some fries to their«moule frites». The place has a nice atmosphere and good service but for the price there was not a dish that made me want to go back. Le Deauville offers mussels with various sauce options, better flavor, and fries.

A place with all the trappings of a fine dining restaurant, but not the chops in the kitchen. We went a little after 7 on a Friday. The décor and lighting are nice, bit the ambiance is hurt by how amazingly loud the place is, especially if you are seated within view of the bar. I will say our server was great: extremely courteous, attentive, and helpful. My wife got the Caesar salad and I got the grilled wedge with the vinaigrette. They were okay, but nothing special. This would be a recurring theme. My wedge was sorely underdressed, so at times I was just eating a chunk of cold iceberg lettuce. For her entrée, my wife went for the chicken Provençal, which was bland. For a fraction of the cost you could just brown some butter with sage leaves at home and serve that over pasta for twice the flavor. I got the NY strip steak frites. The bordelaise was passable, but my steak(which was a nice cut of meat) was overcooked – medium rather than the medium rare I ordered. The asparagus had grill marks, but must have been steamed or something to be as limp as they were. Also, the fries were served in a tall silver cup, which meant the lower ones were steamed and had no crispness. Disappointing. Simply not worth the $ 100 we dropped with tip. Should have gone to Cole’s to at least get excellent food if I’m going to pay $ 50 a person.

Had an exceptional evening last night at The Tulip. From cocktails to the perfectly prepared oysters and fresh, delicious entrees to chocolate crème brûlée and 23 year old Pappy Van Winkle we were all extremely happy. Entrees were filet mignon which was declared«the best filet I’ve ever had», chicken, wonderful and tender, delicious short ribs. Service was impeccable, thank you Newton. Just an all around wonderful meal.

The service was incredibly slow, the noise level is so loud that you cannot even hear the people sitting across the table from you without yelling. The noise level is so loud it made the entire evening unpleasant. I ordered the grilled wedge salad which was very good and a chicken and brie sandwich — the sandwich was just OK it would have been better if the cheese was melted. With the slow service and the noise level it was all I could do to get out of there as fast as I could. Unfortunately, due to the slow service, noise level and higher priced food, it was not worth the money — I would not go back.

The good: the cajun baked oysters are TODIEFOR. And I don’t even like oysters. nuff said. Also, the brussel sprouts, short ribs, baked penne, and the nutella cookies with ice cream and raspberries. The bad: Our waitress was very sweet, but the service was slow. It seemed like she was responsible for all the tables on our half of the room, however, so I don’t think it was her fault. The maître d came around several times to check on us, which was nice. Food wise, the chicken«wonton» appetizers are NOT wontons. I guess it’s always a mistake to order chinese food at a french restaurant, but I’d read good things about the chicken wontons from some reviews on urbanspoon so we decided to give them a try. They basically taste exactly like the egg rolls that you get with your #9 general tsao’s chicken combination dinner from your local chinese takeout joint. They were cut up and presented all fancy-like, but that doesn’t change the fact that they were very average tasting spring rolls. Also, I reiterate, egg rolls =/wontons. Restaurant owners/chefs — do your homework! The ugly: my $ 30 filet mignon, which also happens to be the most expensive thing on the menu. I have never had a filet mignon as dry as this one. I asked for it cooked medium, but it was definitely well done. It was not even a little bit pink on the inside and it was very, very tough. Every bite took an excruciating amount of effort to chew and swallow. I was experiencing major jaw claudication after that and I definitely don’t have temporal arteritis(med school joke). In any case, it was definitely not worth the money, and from a place this fancy, I expect a medium filet to be cooked medium and just that. Very disappointing. I will throw in an honorary mention for the crème brûlée duo. It was cold and obviously not made fresh(probably at the beginning of the day and kept in a cooler), so it wasn’t the best crème brûlée I’d ever had, but I was happy to have it all the same. Bottom line: Not the best upscale restaurant in town, but decent. Obviously expensive but they do have more affordable menu options. I will probably go back on an occasion to try some of the more french items on the menu, and of course to have more oysters!

Owners are great people. Dinner was on point. It was one of my late night Wed dinner with work boys. I had cup of Crab Soup with caviar on the side!(fun) and then for my meal I had couple fish taco that I will for sure be back for another time.

Went there on a glorious Friday evening. The front patio is nice and our service was good. We were there for a little celebrating, and the cocktails were delicious and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered the crab dip for an app and it was also quite good, although the center of the dip was not quite hot, which would have made it better. My wife got the braised short ribs which were pretty good, but my 12 oz NY strip was VERY tough. I don’t know if they serve prime meats, but i’m guessing that’s a negative. My other problem with this place is that there are no tablecloths on the tables inside. I don’t understand how a place can call itself French and not have tablecloths, especially at this price point. Overall, not bad, and I am willing to check it out again, but will not be eating inside.

The food was excellent, but we had to wait a while to get a table. The tall, blonde hostess was very nice, though.

Mediocre food, terrible services, overpriced. Enjoy! Firstly, the restaurant was NOT busy when we arrived. We requested a table for three and were asked if we had a reservation, then invited to sit in the bar area. There were only two occupied tables in the dining area — and the place remained almost empty the entire time we were there. Out of three meals ordered at our table, only one was edible. I ordered the steak, which arrived undercooked(I asked for medium — this was purple). They brought it back and it was obvious that it had been microwaved, and was still not cooked correctly(still mostly purple!). Everything from the steak to the fries to the vegetables was covered in a sour seasoning salt that did nothing for the food — even the one edible dish on our table had this awful powder on it. The fish and chips tasted«off». My steak was taken off the bill, but no one noticed that a whole other entrée had gone uneaten. Have I mentioned that we had been in the place for over an hour and a half at this point? A manager type apologized for our delay and offered a free dessert, but we still didn’t get out of there for another 45 minutes. Our waitress hung out at the bar chatting with other employees. Again, they were not busy — only about six tables total were full at this point. She offered a lame apology for«everything» when we finally got her attention to request the bill. I give this restaurant another 6 months if they continue with the bad food/bad service business plan they are currently on. When a jewel like Suggins is right next door, who would pay three times as much, spend three times as much time, and get bad food served poorly?

Delicious French fare! My fiancé had the mussels as an appetizer and although he wished there were more sauce, he devoured them quickly. He was even more amazed by the croque monseiur, which was enormous, delicious and only $ 10! My meal, duck au poivre, was just what I wanted, and perfectly portioned. I’ve never had duck before so I can’t really compare it to other meals, but I cleaned my plate. For the quality, the overall cost wasn’t too bad for a French bistro — appetizer, two entrees, two alcoholic beverages for under $ 80. My only regret is that I was too full to try the crème brûlée, but we’ll definitely be back.
