Honestly I went in expecting a run of the mill restaurant but the choices are odd. I tried the duck and didn’t like it at all. Way to much game flavor for me. Staff was great… Good beer selection…

One of the best place to eat. No I don’t mean locally or in the state I mean anywhere. If you think Lizard Thickets and Rushes is the Jame Beard of Food then don’t go here. If you really love food and great people go. The taps they never disappoint. Love the staff.

Not what you would expect in small downtown lexington. Think«that’s money» off diners drive a and dives. Yes it’s that good. You know cause every bar around offers a duck panini. The menus changes daily depending on what the chef finds most fresh at the market. I’m going to nominate this place for triple D for sure.

Brian and his team deliver the most delicious, unique and flavorful plates in the city. The menu is delightful. The duck SOS plate is remarkable. All the breads are made on premise, no crap here my friend. Only quality food and brew within an outstandingly comfortable atmosphere. Despite the fact the manager supports the Sabers, this place rocks.

Had a fabulous meal here again today: Caprese Sammy and potato leek soup. Have yet to have any complaints about food nor service, even during the busier times.

All I have to say is. WOW! What a find! My cousin was in SC for predeployment training, and Lexington was a half way link up point for my spouse and I to meet up with him(we live in Augusta, GA). The Keg Cowboy was amazing from start to finish! The atmosphere is a very cozy bar atmosphere with decorative chalk board food and drink menus on the wall. Our server, Justin, was wonderful. He was prompt and extremely accommodating to us, making recommendations along the way. My husband and I opted for the Orange blossom Pilsner… SOGOOD! For dinner, I ordered the pretzel and tomato basil soup, and my husband had the bacon wrapped meatloaf. All were made from scratch and incredible! To top it off, it wasn’t too loud, and we were able to have a really nice visit. If we happen to be near this area again, we will definitely be back!

Place looked good, good local word of mouth… etc We walked in… stood there for 10 minutes(literally).asked someone for help who rushed by us without saying anything… went by the bar and tried to get someone’s attention and was blown off(or honestly not seen) as the person who I thought was staff continued to talk to a bar guest. Most of the seating was full, but as staff you know who to acknowledge and not to. I’ll try again someday, as it could of been an off day. but horrible first impression. We all came from work at a restaurant, so we get it… but we all also agreed that we would of at least provided some kind of «be right with you»

i really feel like I must have went to the wrong place because all of these wonderful experiences were not what I experienced. Maybe I didn’t get drunk enough. Server was not attentive, it took 10 – 15 minutes for bread and oil to come out and when it did, it was hard as a rock. On top of that the beer tasted like ass. Our server didn’t come back for 20 more minutes and at that point we were through. We went to Libby’s to eat and it was great. This place… idk I won’t be going back though

Keg Cowboy is a great addition to Main Street Lexington. Good beers on tap, friendly service, and a good chef/menu/kitchen. Is this really Main Street Lexington? Yes it is! My wife had the house made mozzarella grilled cheese, add tomato, while I had the Duck Confit sandwich. We both had grits as our side(recommended by our server.) Great recommendation. They were great. Our friend had the BBQ omelette. He said it was real good. Love that they bring water to the table in old growlers. This place is great. I will become a regular quickly!

The food is absolutely delicious! Eclectic atmosphere with a great selection of beer. The bread as an appetizer is served with oil and tastes amazing. I also enjoyed the roasted broccoli with my chicken salad sandwich. I like that they had comfortable chairs and board games available. Most importantly, the food was fantastic!

I’m so glad I found this place!!! I’m new to Lexington and, coming from Tampa, I’m used to being able to get really good food whenever I want. This place helps maintain that expectation. The décor is awesome, really makes you feel like you can relax. There is nothing stuffy about this place, but the food is very refined and worth every penny. I went for the SOS plate, which is a must if it’s your first time. The menu seems to change regularly, but the SOS plate is always on the menu. All of the food is made in house, even the bread, and all of the ingredients are locally sourced and farm fresh. They have a good selection of local’ish tap brews and I have yet to be disappointed. Check this place out, it’s going to be a regular on my list.

My freinds in the beer business directed me this way a couple of months ago and I had a damn good time. Many of the beers on tap were really good beers from Coast or Holy City’s Pecan dream which is kinda of hard to find around here. Food was top notch and the lady behind the bar was fanstastic. Just wished I lived a little closer !

Amazing food served in WW2 Post Dresden bombing décor venue.(With spotless bathrooms!) Our 3rd visit here sampling brew and food that is exceptional for the area. Actually as good as anything in Charleston, Charlotte, or Atlanta . Local brews are great, no Bud to be found here. Cuban Dissident sandwich(fresh roasted smoked pork and Gruyère on HOMEMADE focaccia bread!) is spectacular. So I is everything else on the blackboard menu. 3 inch high brisket sandwich is killer also. All bread baked in-house! Intermittent local live music on week nights mingled with eclectic DJs. Very friendly staff. This place is now a regular stop.

We have wanted to try this place and glad we did. Not only do they serve great brews, but an eclectic menu that even my kids loved. Breakfast foods, sandwiches and meat, cheese plates. Diverse selection to try and we will be back!

Amazing gem of a restaurant/pub. The beer menu is perfect for those craft beer snobs, with a solid variety of craft brews on tap and many others by bottle. The atmosphere is very cool. There was a guy spinning vinyl classics the last time I went. They had board games available and I don’t recall any TVs. The service was super too. Fast and very friendly. But the best part was the food. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love this place. The menu included all fresh homemade specialties, many of which seem to have been prepared in a smoker. I had a duck confit over toast topped with an egg and served in a thyme cream sauce. Superb!

Great selection of beer and seriously awesome food. A bit on the pricey side with regards to both the beer and the food, but nothing that’s too atypical to the sort of place it is, and the food is seriously worth it. Sometimes the service is a bit slow without a clear reason why, but the workers are friendly, and always willing to offer suggestions and answer questions.

Not only does Keg Cowboy always have an amazing, if limited, lineup of beers on tap(and a larger selection of bottler beers), they now have the kitchen open. I have never used amazing to describe a sandwich before last night, but I had a truly amazing sandwich. The breads are all made right there in-house; the mozzarella was made there in-house; the picked were made, you guessed it, there in-house; and the produce was local. The menu is small, but so is the kitchen, and they value quality over quantity, which is the way all restaurants should be. That being said, we easily could have split a sandwich and been satisfied, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. As a lacto-ovo vegetarian, I had two sandwiches to choose from, and there was a tomato basil soup that was vegan. Other options included a chicken liver mousse, that my fella hasn’t stopper talking about, duck confit, brisket, and pimento cheese. It sounds like the menu will be ever-changing based on what is fresh when, so you may want to check out their Facebook page before going.
