AEO isn’t just for teenagers and young 20somethings. They’ve got fantastic jeans. For all ages. Good-quality jeans(i.e.: will last more than a year without putting a hole in some well-worn spot) made WITHOUTHOLES(why is that in style??) AND can FITME! As someone who struggles with being tall and thin(short and bigger people aren’t the only ones with problems, ya know), it is very difficult to find a good pair of jeans that doesn’t hang off my body or fit my waist well but ends up being too short. A struggle, I tell you. So, a few weeks ago, after months of not finding a good pair of jeans at the local Walmart or Kohl’s(which slightly surprised me), I caved in and drive out here to get the jeans I knew would fit(from prior experience of owning great used AEO jeans). Not only did I find a pair of fantastic jeans that fit me well, but I found too many jeans that fit. Too many choices! Gasp! Not something I’m used to. I may have spent a little bit over an hour trying on pair after pair in different washes and styles before settling on three pairs: a stretchy kick-boot in dark vintage wash, a pair of comfortable boot-cut khaki pants, and the awesomely-flared, fantastic fitting Boho Artist jeans with the buttons that I ended up returning because I realized a few days later that I didn’t really ‘need’ them and could use the money instead to put gas in my car or food in my belly and yes that was a really long run-on sentence. Yes, the jeans run about $ 30 – 60 each, depending on the style, but SO worth it. The ladies working the store that day were all incredibly helpful — leading me directly to the clothing items I was seeking and offering to run back to the shelves to pull different sizes while I was in the fitting room. I felt slightly pampered. It was awesome. When I came back a few days later to return the one pair, they were still cheerful and awesome. Whee! I usually hate, HATE shopping. Especially for jeans. Not here. AEO makes it a breeze. Such a relief for me! Whew. As for the other clothes they’ve got? Some of it isn’t quite bad. While several different tops and bottoms clearly cater to the teens/young adult crowd, they do have some cute flannel shirts and sweaters that I’d love to wear. The price tag? Mm… not really worth it at the moment. But these jeans… ahhhhhh… love.
