Planet Fitness – Lewisville

I have been going to this location religiously since i got my membership. I have even had a membership with them in San Antonio. I have been taking my 13 yr old son with me as my guest once in a while. I just got turned around and sent away because now i need a birth certificate to show proof of age. I was just there 3 days ago and i have not received any notice of this change. It takes me over 20 mins one way to get there due to traffic and construction on 35. My husband even was ready to sign up for a membership as well. Now he doesn’t even want to set foot in this location even as a guest. Highly upset and already getting ready to transfer my membership to another location.

I was in from out of town and Stephanie hooked me up with a $ 5.00 day pass. Very clean and well managed facility. Ladies were working out peacefully without being chatted up by fellas. A civilized group of members simply getting healthy and minding their own business. A real nice facility!

I love this gym. It is always clean and open 24 hours. The price is very reasonable. I normally only use the treadmill and stretch area. Plenty of machines and a huge fan overhead to keep you cool. The tanning and massage chairs are an added bonus. The area is a tad bit sketchy and I was nervous at first, but it is completely safe and well lit at night. The dressing rooms are huge and again, clean. Perfect for my needs and not too far from home.

So I just canceled my membership from Planet Fitness in Louisville I’ve only had for three months and yet I’m being told I have to pay a annual fee of $ 48 to cancel than she tried to say I was under contract for a year and tried to charge me another $ 68 but I’m not under contract; so she didn’t change me that so yeah. I asked her about the rest of this month since you know I’m assuming Ivorie paid for this month yesterday I’m assuming I can come in for the rest of the month according to this girl canceling my membership means not only I can’t show up for the rest of the month that I paid for they also refused to refund it.
This to me is just wrong on every level because I’m being charge for an entire month I don’t get to use because I decided to cancel with in 30 days but she told me oh well you can go back on the 10^th and show up like you’re going to charge me on the ninth so no because I’m going to end up paying for another month.
See what I’m saying it’s a scam! It’s not okay for businesses to use these kinds of methods it’s just wrong.

I went here as a guest several times. Very cheap. Dirt cheap. Easy location in I-​35. No fitness classes, which is the major downside. The employees seem very young, like teenagers.
The equipment is shockingly cheap. I’ve never seen any equipment like it anywhere else — like if you were going to buy some gym equipment at Big Lots it would be like their equipment.
They have an unusual atmosphere and attitude, like they want to be the gym for people who are uncomfortable going to the gym. The way they make those people comfortable is by handing out candy at the desk and having pizza day. They also play on gym stereotypes that people are intimidated by, so they discourage making exertion noises like people make when they lift heavy weights. LOL. They have a lot of motivational signs to encourage people. The most unusual thing is the stoplight system that tells you when to move to the next machine in their circuit area.
To be fair some people seem to respond to this motivation and there are a lot of people using the stoplight system. There really do seem to be people here who might feel pressure at other gyms because of the shape they’re in or because they maybe don’t have full strength or mobility. So it’s great for them to be doing whatever they can do. Of course even though I love gyms and go a lot I don’t think I judge other people or wonder what the hell is wrong with them if they’re not in shape or wearing cool sneakers. But people’s PERCEPTION that others at the gym might judge them, and their self esteem may be what’s keeping them away from other places.
So whatever works to get people to exercise is good!
This place gets them there with its location, $ 10 memberships, crazy stoplight system, bright purple colors, free tshirts, and tootsie rolls.

I love that i can walk into a gym and not have to worry about the extreme cost or the on lookers! They have great great great prices, clean and up kept gym and a welcoming staff!

I went here for a while, but found a gym closer to work and have since switched. This place is pretty new so it was still very clean, had nice showers/​locker room, and new equipment.
The one thing that drove me crazy here was the mess. There were always dumbbells left lying around. Free weights were never put back in order, sometimes not even in sets. Sometimes you’d have to search through them all to find two matching dumbbells. I wish I’d taken a picture before I stopped going. Plates were just left on the Smith machines or leaning against it on the floor. I couldn’t stand it. I know this is partly the gym-​goers fault, but this especially drove me crazy since there were typically two to three people working/​just hanging out at the front desk. I think if it would’ve been cleaned up occasionally people would’ve made more of an effort to put things back after working out, but a precedent was set when they saw things out of order and left lying around that they figured out it was totally acceptable to continue doing so.
I did appreciate that the staff was friendly, the locker room was clean, and membership was so cheap, but the messiness drove me so crazy that I finally switched gyms, sooner than I had planned, to one that’s more expensive, but more convenient and a little more in order.

I had a temporary membership for over two months at this location. It was only $ 10 a month, the facility is open 24/​7, and I had complete access to all the fitness equipment.
The staff was always friendly and there were no hidden fees or problems with canceling. The machines were also in good working order, which was an issue I always had at other facilities. If I was still living near Denton, I would have continued my membership.
