I have worked out at this gym for over a year(now located in Addison) and don’t get me wrong it’s a good workout; but when you deal with someone that is unprofessional and doesn’t respect the time and money spent of the customers than its time to part ways. Bendu is the head instructor part owner. I started off with group sessions and enjoyed them so much that I started purchasing private sessions. On multiple occasions there were times where my sessions had to be reschedule or they were completely forgotten about. It is total disrespectful and unprofessional when you show up to a close gym when you have a confirmed scheduled appointment. Once someone shows you themselves believe them cause sadly this wasn’t the first time I experience this with Bendu but since I enjoyed the workout I decided to give him another chance, to just experience the same foolery again. It got so frustrating for me that I just asked for a refund to just be told that he doesn’t give them out but he doesn’t show up for his scheduled clients appointments either. So what am I suppose to do. I showed up to the gym for another rescheduled appointment after it being rescheduled 3 times to no Bendu. But gladly I ran into Derrick the co-owner/manager and he heard and understood my frustration about the situation and ended up giving me a full refund. So I truly appreciate him being a man of his word and following through unlike his business partner Bendu. I have been a loyal customer and this is the treatment he shows me. I never even received a apology. But at this point it wouldn’t mean anything. I just feel when you provide a service and you have made multiple mistakes you should right your wrong. If you decide to try out a workout here, Please stick to the group sessions cause there was a review on here that stated my same complaint and I didn’t listen. Save yourself the frustration.

Got my butt kicked tonight. Hard. 1st class and it was intense for me. Coach Bendu was attentive. He wrapped my hands up set me up with boxing gloves and pulled me aside during the boxing portion to make sure I had my bearings. I’ll be honest 30 mins into the workout — I had a WTF moment, I never want to come back here again — it’s so hard and I just bought a Groupon for 20 effin sessions. We started out with a warm-up — 7 minute of jumping rope, picked up 2−3lb weights(provided) and went into jumping jacks, 1 – 2 jabs, butterflies(2) into jumping squats, chin-ups(kind of like running in place while hitting into the air above your head w/weights), 2 – 4 push-ups into holding a plank. From there we transitioned into the boxing. He showed his regulars what I called choreography and they went to work on their bags. He pulled me aside showed me the basics — jabs, 1 – 2, the ducking thing and then put it all together into a piece of choreography for me. 1 – 2, duck, right left right, re-set my self 2 lefts jabs and finish with a strong right. He practiced with me 3−4xs to make sure I had it down and sent me to my bag. From there he started engaging the others into choreography — this chick was hitting so hard all I heard was boom-boom-boom. I want to hit like that without getting winded. I practiced with him again and then we went all out into body hits. He corrected my footwork when I lost my balance and my hands when I dropped them too low. We moved into the next round of boxing. 1 – 2 body hits — squat jumps — and then finished all out with low body hits(pummeling the lower part of the bag while you’re squatting low — it’s hard!) I’ll be honest I had to stop a lot and catch my breath throughout the boxing/entire hour. My heart was pounding rapidly — and I have bad feet so I have to stretch them out. It got to a point where I was doing my choreography on one bag and moving to the next bag. Just to push myself to keep going. This was where I started to realize I had paid for 19 more sessions of this. WTF. We finally took a break — and then headed into the final stretch. We ran to the fence and sprinted back. 2xs When you were done with your 1st run, you started doing jumping jacks and waiting for others to finish. I was the slow poke so I never did jumping jacks and just tried to finish the run/sprint portion of it. After I finally finished we headed in for a water break and mat work. Regular crunches(legs in the air), 6 inches(flat on your back with your legs elevated an inch or 2 off the ground and hold), bicycle crunches, 6 feet crunches(legs in the air 45 degree angle and reach for the toes). Repeat that whole set. Flip over into mountain climbers, push-ups and a plank. Repeat 2−3xs. Hold that plank. Hold. Starting to black out(just kidding) and he says DONE. I just dropped to my mat and laid there. You know what? I’m coming back. That was the best damn workout I’ve ever given myself in awhile. My heart rate was elevated and consistently stayed there throughout the entire hour. I thought I was working myself out at the gym and running at the preserve. But now I realize all that other stuff was nice and all, but I wasn’t pushing myself. I want to drop 50 lbs by the end of the year. I’m going to keep going back. Because right now, after that ass-kicking. I like the after glow. I feel really good.
