Pros: Very nice diner with a great atmosphere. Cons: Everything else; my family of five waited for an hour and 15 minutes and received little to no information as to why our order was delayed for so long. Their response: «there was a table of 16». Their apology was half hearted and filled with excuses, all I would have needed was a simple«sorry» and we are right on your order. Instead we were riddled with excuses and verbosity as we told them we were leaving. The cherry on the top is that our order was never put in, or it was simply lost. As we walked out the door we overheard the manager asking for our ticket and it could not be located from our server. I have worked in the food industry in my days as a college student, and the one thing I learned is that you never blame the customer for anything, and this restaurant failed inexplicably at this, questioning our motive for wanting to leave, instead of asking what they could do to make our experience better. I do not think I will give this diner another shot and do not recommend bringing a group here, as they can not handle large groups. TLDR: we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food, and received terrible service.

We tried Leesburg Diner for brunch today. We had to wait around 20−25mins by the door and we could see that there are a lot of tables available(for big and small groups). It’s a small place, we wondered why we couldn’t be seated instead. Ordered french toast, omelette and chocolate chip pancake. It was just ok. Nothing spectacular. Their coffee is good though, better than most brunch places we’ve been to. Service was ok, but the servers could not even crack a smile. When we tried to get the attention of some, they wouldn’t even make eye contact. As we were leaving, there were 2 severs that were just chatting behind the counter and did not even acknowledge us as we smiled at them(which is what we are used to in friendly establishments) Two stars because the food was not bad(not great though) and good coffee.

Saturday night. Few customers. Still took far too long for waitstaff to approach us and take an order. Ordered fish & chips. Fish was on top of a pile of sweet potato fries. Server told me they were out of French Fries. What kind of diner runs out of french fries? I would have preferred to been asked what alternate side I wanted. Food was expensive for a diner. Floor was pretty dirty. One of the many idle employees needed to grab a Swiffer Wet Mop. Won’t go back.

Just had breakfast there, sat outside. Very nice with the tables & umbrellas, except they forgot the Hollindaise Sauce on my Eggs Benny!

Wow! This place is poorly managed. We have been seated for 25 minutes and have yet to have a server even bring us menus let alone get our drinks… There is a huge crowd at the door and the woman at the front has not said a word to the people waiting. In fact my kids are now yelling that we need to leave! I think I will let them.

Best milkshakes in Leesburg and the brownie sundae was to die for. Good size brownie, covered in hot fudge, huge strawberry on the side and a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream on top. Wish I’d taken a picture before we devoured it! Really glad this place is back!

Extremely disappointing! Pro… the fish and chips and fish sandwich were hot… Con…high prices for lunch, long wait time for food, a very limited selection of food and no «diner dishes”(at least a cold salad plate or hot open face turkey sandwich), and sad plating of food… a roll with fried fish on it, is NOT a sandwich… no lettuce, tomato, onion or even a pickle! So sad this place isn’t what it used to be… also, no menu available on internet.

I stopped in for dinner tonight with my family as I was craving some breakfast food. Leesburg Diner didn’t disappoint! The French toast was delicious, and even my grandma(who is a very picky eater) found something she loved. Austin provided great service. We’ll be back!

Re OPENED!!! Happy to report that the always reliable Leesburg diner is once again open for business. As always the wait staff is very friendly the food is very good and the prices are very fair. So happy they are back open. Oh yeah– the milkshakes? They are still to die for!

I live in Maryland and was in Leesburg for the flower and garden show. The diner just recently re-opened after recovering from an unexpected fire. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They had a limited menu for their re-opening and I had the classic burger. It was one of the best burgers I have had in a very long time and combined with a yummy vanilla milkshake, it made for the perfect lunch! Service was prompt. The restaurant had a lovely authentic diner vibe, more appealing than the mainstream diner chains. It was a great unexpected discovery and I would come back the next time I am in the area and check out the rest of the menu!

Good place to eat when it’s open. Old fashioned diner renovated to be a bit more modern. Solid food. Pancakes are great. Not sure what the deal is but it’s closed at 8:45 on a Sunday morning.

We ate there with our daughter before she took us to Dulles Airport on the 16th of June to go back home from our visit. The food was great. My wife and I had Reubens. Absolutely great, I’ve never had a better Reuben. But what was greater was the sense of customer service and a sense of duty beyond the call by their staff. Chef Amy was the lady with whom I spoke when I realized I’d left my pet US Air Force KC-135 baseball cap on a hat rack. It was a special gift from my wife on a special occasion. I asked Chef Amy to hold on to it for me and wait for the US Postal Service Priority Mail envelope I’d send her in one just like it. I sent it on 1JULY15 and on 6JULY15, I received my pet US Air Force KC-135 baseball cap back. I am an Air Force veteran whose squadron trained crews to fly the granddaddy to the KC-135, the old KC-97s at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas in the 1950s. To me that’s a darned nice thing to do, to hold on to a guy’s ball cap and then pack it up and send it to him when you are a busy lady cooking up good vittles for good folks back in Virginia. When you have good restauranteurs who cook a good meal, no wonder that restaurant has been around in one form or another since the 1860s according to an article by the Loudon Times { } Thanks staff and especially Chef Amy from an old guy in Mesa, Arizona.

My wife and I decided to grab a Sunday breakfast. I read some reviews and decided to give this place a shot. I rather eat at mom and pops versus chain places. Well… We didn’t get a chance to sit and eat! This review is based on the service we received when we first walked in. There is not a host area so you don’t really know who you need to talk to in order to get seated. We saw some woman working but no one greeted anyone waiting right by the door. Finally I spoke up and asked how do we get seated? She asked for my name and that was it. No wait time was given to us. We waited for about 5 minutes before even being acknowledged by the way. It didn’t seem like they had a good system in place for greeting guests as they enter the diner. This clearly showed a confused group of guests as they walked in. I wish communication was a lot more clear and I wish someone greeted us and let us know what what going on. We ended up asking the lady how much longer and she said about 20 more minutes, this is in addition to the 20 minutes we already waited. We ended up waking out due to the lack of communication and the initial greet.

Unfortunately my family will not be going back to the diner. We chose the Leesburg diner for our Sunday morning brunch with out of town guests. The entire experience was terrible and I would not recommend the diner to anyone who asks. There are plenty of other good local places to eat. The good: the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were sat quickly even after a table change. Childs pancake came out in advance of the adults food. The bad: the diner was HOT, if there was AC it did not feel like it was on. In the front the smell of the fire is overpowering(I realize not their fault) that had we sat there, I would have walked out. The waitress was distracted, we had to ask for water and coffee refills multiple times only had one refill of water which was unacceptable with the temperature in the diner. Service was incredibly slow. Food took 45 minutes to come out, child pancake took 35 minutes. 50% of the adult meals were wrong. Of those that were sent back one came back wrong again. Our server was no where to be seen, so I had to go to the kitchen myself to get the order correct. Waffle maker was broken, no hash browns. This was a thoroughly unenjoyable experience which was extremely disappointing based on the reviews

First time visiting this diner. I do not think I will be back soon. Food was good/average. My girlfriend and I tried the shepherds pie and a burger. THESERVICEWASTERRIBLE. Two servers on and there were like 4 tables in the restaurant. Our server got our waters quick but getting our order took her forever. After 10 minutes of waiting, I finally just went up to the counter and ordered. I ran out of water, she did not come ONCE to check up on us. The two servers that were on just chatted between themselves and NEVERCHECKEDUPONUS. Our server did not get close to our table so we finally had to ask the other server that was on to get us our checks. We paid out quickly and left! And its not like we were sitting far away, we sat right infront of the register(we were in booths.) When we visit old town Leesburg again, definitely not coming here again.

In all fairness, I assume part of my disappointment here was the was the failure to live up to a childhood nostalgia. Leesburg Diner was a yearly tradition in my family that after getting a christmas tree, we came here. I remember my meal of Country Fried Steak with white gravy and a chocolate milkshake as a fond memory. My family was in town one weekend and we went to brunch nearby. We walked Leesburg to find this was reopening. The construction guy actually let us in to show us what they had done. It was really exciting. It looked so cool, retained the feel and booths and layout I grew up with. Flash forward to last week… my fiancé and I decided to come here. Disappointment. I had a burger. She had a Caesar salad. Burger… ordered medium. Arrived well done plus. Would have sent it back if I were not starved and no one came by for four minutes after we began eating. Burger tasted frozen, might have been over cooked. Who knows. Bun was flavorless. Got a super thin slice of cheese… Salad… it was dripping in dressing. She ate half of it. After we paid, I noticed on my way out that the dessert cooler had Costco goods in it. Then it hit me… I just paid $ 30 to eat Costco food. The burger, the bun, the salade dressing… it was all Costco. Costco food I could prepare 30 time better at home. Maybe breakfast is better. It better be. But if this is the ‘vision’ this place has… I hope a change in ownership happens quickly so what is truly an amazing space gets an amazing restaurant and menu. Watching the manager micromanage his staff really made it seem that the restaurant experience running this place is limited. Go hire someone away from Great American to build this place up. …I almost never write bad Unilocal reviews… but I know there’s other people out there with similar nostalgia for this place. Don’t waste your money on the lunch. Avoid if you want to preserve memories. At least the staff were friendly and no one was rude. Thus 2 stars and not 1.

Went there for breakfast. I really, really wanted to like this place. Servers were nice enough. But I was there to eat. In order of experiences The front door clobbered us with cold air every time it opened Coffee had a little burnt taste. Wife’s hot cocoa had clumps. Pancakes were meh as were wife’s chicken and waffles. Not on my short list to return to.

Great little diner with a lot of character. Manager Chris was welcoming and friendly. I went solo on a Sunday around noon and had a huge egg white omelet with veggies and home fries. All great! Omelet was huge. Recommended for a great breakfast at a good price. In the heart of the cute little village area of Leesburg.

First trip back since they reopened. At first we weren’t sure if it was seat yourself or not, so we stood awkwardly and unacknowledged until we interrupted someone. Turns out, you should wait to be seated. After that, our experience was excellent. My husband and I snuck out for some alone time for breakfast — sausage gravy and biscuits for me, diner breakfast for him. We were both stuffed and neither was disappointed.(Previously, the sausage gravy was very bland so I was really happy to taste improvement.) Our waiter was fantastic, super friendly and knowledgable and no issues substituting my eggs for home fries. The coffee was classic diner coffee — good taste but a little weak. We are really looking forward to having an awesome breakfast spot in town.

Everyone here was really nice, but the overall experience could have been better. I went in for breakfast on a Sunday so it was busy. The staff was friendly and the wait for a table was not too long, but then after we sat down it was about 30 – 40 minutes before we got the food. The manager(I think) was very apologetic about it though and gave us a free milkshake. Which told me they really are trying. The food was good, I had the french toast and I would go back and get the same thing. They did seem to overcharge for yogurt though, maybe it was some special yogurt but it looked and tasted like it was not worth the $ 7 it cost.
