Best Chinese in town!!! I always get the jumbo shrimp and mixed veg and my husband gets Kung pow chicken. It is soooo tasty and a generous portion. Never a bad experience here, definitely recommend!

With all the chinese restaurants in the area, this one isn’t the best. I think Jasmine is better. I ordered the beef and broccoli and pepper steak. The meat on both tasted exactly alike, which it shouldn’t. Normally I would get steak with a pepper steak. On top of that I had much more green peppers that actual pieces of meat. I ordered the lunch special, which may attribute to the cheapness. Also the spring roll was the size and width of my index finger, and i’m not a big man. Overall I think they are trying to have the lowest price in the area while giving you cheap food. So if you just want cheap chinese food then this place is fine, but like I said before there are many other places that are close by that you can eat from.

Best tofu with vegetables in VA. They always make a special dish for my son and are incredibly friendly and courteous! Weekly take out from this restaurant.

Tasty food — I like all what I try there. Very fast delivery — you’ll wait no more than 15 minutes mutes. Friendly staff — you can even ask to change your order. I adore their mixed egg wonton soup. All meal is fresh and delicious. Traditional Chinese cuisine. And is really a not expensive.

Good food ready quickly. We normally pick it up and the people working there are always nice. Lunch special is a really good value. Its a pick-up or delivery type of place not a sit down restaurant for your family. About 3 small tables inside.

Small and simple place from the appetizer, soup and Entrée the food is amazing! I say its the BEST Chinese food in Virginia as we travel everywhere for good Chinese food!!! We eat here twice a week and every dish we have had(soup, appetizer, entrée) is excellent. The food is authentic, not what you would expect in Leesburg. Seems like Chinatown. Highly recommend!!!

We dined in. The sesame chicken was tough. Nothing tasted bad per se, but all the meat was overdone. Given the other reviews maybe I came in on an off day. I don’t think it was worth the dinner price; however, I may give it another chance during lunch time.

Interesting review assortment on here for this place. Here is the deal: is it knock you down life changing? Nope. Is it better than Hunan, Taipei, China King, and Jasmine? Yes! Portion sizes are generous. Food is consistently good. They always throw a freebie for us. Too saucy? Too salty? Not a fan of gravy? Communicate with them, they are very receptive and very nice. Or do what I do and order from the«steamed» menu with sauce on the side.

Make no mistake! EVERY review of this place over one star HAS to be the owner and extended family! OK first off, I am a foody, NY born(that means I know what authentic cuisine REALLYIS!) sorry other states– but it’s true! Have the ability to rate accurately, lets say. I have fast food favorites as well as five star dining and know what to expect at all levels. As far as Chen Garden for Chinese take out– this place makes the mall food court chinese seem like quality! Lets start with the fact that everything on the menu has the same sauce(from the same can/jar I am sure!) Its a reddish, brownish very fakish taste and appearance. Also, everything on the menu that you order ends up being huge peices of broccoli’ that take up most of the container. I tried it a few times all appearred as the exact same dish and I ordered different things each time. For a change I tried moo goo gai pan(white sauce equals NO sauce and again, mostly broccoli, this happened with chicken and snopeas as well. Today I tried something from their specialty menu, the Happy Family for 13.95– I NOWHAVEGIVENUPONTHEPLACE even though convenient location! It wasuppose to have sliced chicken, beef, pork, lobster with vegetables(which they think is english for broccoli trees!) So ZERO lobster, the grossest peice of slime-was the pork, white slices of a jellied meat, gross mouth feel, was the chicken, totally fake shrimp— and of course the broccoli trees! YUCK!!! Same EXACT jarred sauce as the other times. Do not waste your money… All I ever do is chop the broccoli trees and eat it with rice for 13.95! A waste! and still hungry! Dear Chen Garden, Get real meat and fish, get real crispy noodles-not from the grocery store, But most of all, hire a trained cook that knows what chinese take out is. You are robbing people with your slime meat and jarred sauce– Take a trip to china town in NY — youll learn something!

Not sure if they even deserve a 1 star but wow I am baffled that people order from here. I tried this place out because alot of people I know order from here and say alot of good things about this place, so why not try it. I love Chinese food and I usually go hole in the walls to get some authentic Chinese food. But this place… i dont even want to see how it looks. Not sure what people see in this place or if people this is what Chinese food taste like, but I need to put you guys on some real Chinese food. That’s basically like saying Taco Bell or Chipotle is mexican. Any place that delivers your food(3 orders) within 10 minutes is way too sketchy for me. Okay great, alot might say they have fast delivery and that’s pretty fast but what the heck. 10 minutes??? They must recycle everything there because it’s obviously not fresh. Don’t get me wrong I know what I was getting myself to. I know it’s not fresh, I know it’s not a restaurant but damn I mean it took 10 minutes by the time we hung up to the time the guy got here. That’s scary! Never again. The egg drop soup was super bland, no amount of pepper or seasoning can save it. My pepper steak looked like old meat that’s probably why they poured so much sauce over it to cover it up. Let’s just say my stomach was on fire right after I ate some of this food. If this is what Leesburg considers good Chinese food, then keep thinking that. When you want real Chinese food that’s not leftovers from 5 days ago, let me know. I will be the first one to take you there.

First, the positives. The food was ready when we got there and the egg rolls were good. We ordered 4 dishes. The chicken and brocoilli was bland and chicken did not seemed fully cooked. The shrimp lo mein tasted like noodles and soy sauce. The sesame chicken tasted exactly like sweet and sour chicken with some sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The mango chicken just tasted off and not mango-e. Maybe it was an off day or the chef quit. I’ve had the thai curry chicken in the past and it was great so plus one star.

I don’t understand the rave reviews as «best Chinese in Leesburg» unless they are from employees. This place serves shopping mall food court Chinese at best. It’s made of 3 overly sweet sauces(«plum», «szechuan», «yellow garlic stuff»), 3 vegetable ingredients(onion, green pepper, shredded carrot), 3 meat products(beef, chicken, battered chicken), and rice. In various permutations, that turns into about 20 dishes which all taste the same. The portions are 50% rice, 30% sauce, 15% vegetable, and *maybe* 5% meat. It is some of the stingiest ratios I’ve ever seen. There’s very little seating, décor, or service to recommend dining in. Sloppy arrangements of condiments, newspapers strewn about. I imagine it *is* like dining in China. And if you are going to get carry-out, get it from some place that uses more than 10 ingredients(*cough* China King). The only reason this place gets even 1 star instead of 0 is that the seafood fried rice actually tasted fishy instead of like sweet Chinese mystery sauce from a jar. I am loathe to give most local dining establishments a poor review because the restaurant business is hard and everyone deserves a chance. But eating at Chen’s Garden is an hour of my life and 1500 calories I can never recover. Don’t make my mistake.

Ordered take out for lunch one day. The ingredients were fresh and there was no hint of MSG but flavor-wise was not a «Bam!» Prices are standard range but I’ll still be in search of good take-out place in this area

I absolutely love this place. Everything we have ordered here is delicious and they always deliver, no joke, in like 15 mins. How is that even possible?! Whenever we’re in a bind for last minute dinner and need food quick we call Chen’s. All of their chicken dishes have been white meat with no weird chicken parts that you can’t chew through. We love this place so much.

Fresh, hot, made to order, inexpensive — these are good things. Spicy is not very spicy, lots of sweet, cornstarchy sauce, few oriental veggies, and a pretty bare-bones dining room that is quite small.

Chens is a small family restaurant with a few chairs and very little atmosphere. Luckily, their food is pretty decent so it makes up for the lack of ambiance. The beef chow fun was pretty good even though it said drunken noodles(indicating Thai). Hot and sour soup was solid, not great. Would like to see woodear mushrooms and a bit more bamboo shoots as well as a bit more body with a little corn starch maybe. Being a bit picky but I order this at every Chinese place because it’s my «tell». Complaint however is there is a funky cigarette smell so some one is sneaking one in apparently. Not cool. I’ll try a few more dishes in the coming months and update my review.

I’ve been hungry for Chinese… and have tried all or most of the local restaurants in Leesburg. I like them… but I really was looking for something else. I read the reviews on Chen’s Garden, so placed an order. Very friendly on the phone, she had asked me if I wanted a couple of free eggrolls, what a nice touch :) I ordered hot n sour soup for my husband who liked it very much. The crab rangoons were fresh tasting and loved the light wrapper they were in. My son really enjoyed the steak on a stick and the General Tso’s was quite tasty! We will definitely be back… the people are very nice and friendly too! Thanks for a delicious meal. :)

Awful. We arrived very optimistic because of the overly enthusiastic reviews. We ordered egg foo yung. which arrived burned on one side. Had to wait for the gravy which had cinnamon and too much ginger. My husband ordered pork lo mein… which were over cooked and tasteless. Ditto for the spring rolls. Kitchen cooks wearing street clothes… and the cashier cleaning vegetables on a bare table beside us. No clean paper towel under the veggies. Eat there at your own risk.

Let me preface this review with that I am a born and raised NYer, and as such I firmly believe that the only true and good pizza, Chinese, etc, is in NY. Having said that, this place really hits the mark. I moved to Leesburg 4 ½ years ago and have been waiting impatiently for a true«NY-style» Chinese place to open up. We got a menu in the mail and just a brief glance told us almost everything we needed to know. The food selection was not like other places nearby, it is more authentic to what we’re used to a Chinese food menu being, and the prices are extremely reasonable and not exorbitant like most places in the area. My husband went for take out. Service was great on the phone when we placed our order as well as when he got there. Told me it was decorated nicely but didn’t notice if there were tables to eat-in. I have to start with the chicken noodle soup. Every Chinese place in NY offers it — a simple, delicious broth, with long noodles and chunks of white meat chicken. Nothing fancy and it’s not supposed to be. For whatever reason, you can’t get it in the Leesburg area, and if you do find a place that has it on the menu it’s over $ 10 and is intended to be a meal(with cabbage, broccoli, and other veggies), which is fine, but who really orders Chinese to have soup for dinner? At Chen’s it is exactly how I believe it is supposed to be, and for only $ 1.75. And did I mention it was delicious? I realize I just wrote a paragraph about soup. We also ordered the boneless spare ribs(tasty with high-quality meat and no fat, but too salty); the sesame chicken(absolutely delicious, all white meat, sauce wasn’t syrupy); kung pao chicken(spicy as it’s supposed to be, fresh veggies); and pork egg rolls(perfect. exactly how they should be.) They just opened so I really hope they keep up the incredible work as they get swamped, which I’m sure they will be! Chen’s really can’t be beat.
