Tried to come and try based on the reviews, but couldn’t be found where it says its located. So needless to say was rather disappointed since made the drive from Killeen.

I want to love this place with all my heart– but I cannot. My husband and I made a special trip here to try out what has been a HIGHLY rated place on Unilocal. We ordered our food and excitedly waited. Granted, we could see that a young girl was working the cash register, but we didn’t mind. My real gripe came when she incorrectly rang up our order and didn’t charge us for the elotes. They actually made us give them back our credit card to charge us for the elotes that THEY forgot to add to our ticket… and this is after we had already tipped them FIVEBUCKS on the original ticket, which is more than the freaking elotes cost. I am ALLABOUT generous tipping and supporting local businesses, and we ordered a TON of food here and tipped them well. I thought it was VERY tacky and in poor taste to ask us for our credit card back after we’d already tipped and been generous. The food was good, but honestly, it just turned me off. You can get cheaper tacos and better service elsewhere.

A very convoluted story about how I discovered this place… Friend and I went to Little Woodrow’s to have some drinks. While I was there I noticed on their food menu that«Friday and Saturday nights = Taco Truck Special». So I whipped out my phone to check in and lo and behold, sure enough, there was Elotes Locos… with a free taco for checking in! Naturally I took advantage of this offer as I was leaving the bar. Grabbed an order of Tacos al Pastor(+1 freebie). Staff working the truck were super friendly, and made my tacos to order. The pork tacos were delicious; very well marinated pork topped with cilantro and onion, with some house made salsa in small hand held corn tortillas. What a great meal for $ 6 bucks! I’m not really a fan of Little Woodrows(mainly because I smell like an ashtray after I leave)…but if its Friday or Saturday night I must just tolerate it so I can have some delicious tacos afterwards. Looking forward to trying their other items too!

This place is a GEM! I’m unsure if I should review this place because I don’t want it to be overrun like Franklin’s BBQ but alas I can’t hold back. I am so ecstatic that stand that serves TASTY, traditional Mexican tacos. Today, I went to Elotes Locos on a mission to try their tasty corn treat. Basically a cup of corn mixed with some cream or something, seasoned and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, by 12:20, they soldout! Their menu boasts Tacos Al Pastor(marinated pork) or Tacos Bistek(steak) — $ 5 for 4 tacos. Granted these babies are a little smaller than normal tacos but damn, I fell in love with them. My friends really said it best, he said wow, this is what its like back in Monterrey, Mexico. It’s not some taco covered in cheese and sauce, creating the flavor of the taco. Instead, the meat has been so well marinated that it MAKES me taco amazing. Thats what Elotes Locos does so well. I loved my Tacos Al Pastor, I could have eaten 20. The pork had AMAZING flavor, a little tangy, a little salty, and just enough HEAT to let me know it was there. It came topped with my favs, cilantro and onions. They provided some limes for extra tang if necessary. This place is about the BOLD flavors as mentioned above. The cheese they use is quesa fresco? It just accents the dish, it doesn’t take over the taco like Tex-Mex places do. My friend sampled the Mexadilla, basically a gringa for those who know what that is. Very similar to a quesadilla. My Mexican friend absolutely loved his dish. His favorite part was the salsa, its not the Tex-Mex stuff we get here, it was unique. I tried it and it had more of a chili taste and different type of heat to it. Very Yummy. I cant wait to come back and get the elotes I was looking for. In addition this place serves a FRIED hot dog WRAPPED in BACON. I am extremely taken over with joy that I have an AMAZING taco place within in walking distance of my apartment. This place is gonna be booming with fall hits with all the UT students taking this stand over. Editor’s Note: I wrote this when the trailer was next to the UT campus, it’s now by Lil Woodrows off of Parmer.

I just tried this place yesterday for the first time. I loved it! I had the mexadilla(quesadilla) with steak. Its loaded with lots of meat, cheese and a good blend of cilantro. The hot sauce is also very tasty, though im not a big spicy food eater. I didnt get to try some of their fruit popsicle options, but they looked very good! Also the tacos are 4 for $ 5. Sounds like a good deal to me and i heard they are even better than the quesadilla. Longhorn Food Court is great! Check it out sometime :)

Surprisingly good! I am not a huge fan of corn, but I do my best to try new things. It was hot out, so I was convinced this was the worst idea to have corn soup in a cup. I was delightfully surprised and I think it was the lime juice that kept it refreshing. I will go back for some tacos soon. Go to the Longhorn Food Court if you’re near West Campus.

Ohhh. I love Elotes! the Taco Beef Asada is to die for. Large servings, inexpensive, marinated and super delish meat! yum! They are in the new trailer park(Longhorn food court) Rio Grande @ MLk. Easy parking, picnic tables and umbrellas to eat your food, and 2 of the nicest people ever serving the food. xo

I’m still a newbie to many of the authentic taco(taqueria) trucks/restaurants in Austin, but echoing Wenting, the Carne Asade tacos are the bomb, and at a ridiculously good price. So much meat and so much flavor… I was still tasting the tacos several hours later. It blows away the taquerias I’ve had in Dallas, including the highly famous and overrated Fuel City and the very authentic Taco’s El Guerro! I’ve also tried their bacon wrapped hot dog in bacon and the Mexican corn… hot dog was good but they could use a better dog(and it sounds like they are moving that direction)…corn was a little meh for me, maybe because I’ve never had this and I was expecting roasted and not boiled corn in a liquid, but their Asade is definitely the best thing — they also do a burrito using the same meat, and are launching a quesadilla. Located in the new Longhorn Food court(trailer park), this is definitely a must try, particularly for those still on a recessionary budget.

Three Words: Cheap, Tasty, and Friendly… as good as it gets. so i’ve been on this crazy trailer hunt… and most of them serves tacos or something of that sort. of all the places out there(Izzo, torchy, tacodeli, takorea, chilantro. etc) this place is cheapest. i got their Taco Beef Asada which was priced at $ 3.50…and it came with four mini tacos… but dont be fooled… they def. pile on the steak.(i posted pictures. check it out). soo.is the quality just as good as the price? – Absolutely! the steak was very juicy and tender and they also top it off with fresh chiantro and their own hot salsa. YUMMY! im going back this weekend so i can try more of their menu. From what i had today. im sold. lastly, the lady and the man working behind the trailer was extremely nice, they chatted me up and was just a pleasure to talk to. props to them for hanging out in the trailer during the hot weather and still turn out great food with a nice attitude.
