Small 10 table café set up like a fast food outlet. The service is fast and the food is fat. That’s where it deviates from a fast food establishment, I asked about several different items and was immediately handed samples. Super friendly and super accommodating. The lentil soup was very tasty. Not as thick as I prefer but very tasty and served hot which is key. Tabouli was very fresh. Probably made today. At touch vinegary but outstanding. Hummus side was not as thick as I am used to. The smokiness from the paprika added a great flavor. adding pomegranate seeds on top was brilliant. Chicken kabob was what brought me in and did not disappoint. Tender and perfectly seasoned and done. The chunks are also the right size for cutting in half or popping a whole one in the mouth, Once again the Unilocal world led me to a gem. I live 6 states away and may never get here again. So glad I made it once. Chicken Kabob plate with three sides and medium bowl of soup and water. $ 10.58 (It is a five for this category of restaurant.)

This is a must try place. I just stumbled across this place in passing and I am very happy I stopped… Food is incredible!!! I would not say this if I truly didn’t mean it. But everything from the beef kabobs to the tabouleh salad and, eggplant, to falafel to the chicken was seasoned and cooked beautifully. The service is simple but they are very friendly. They have been open only seven months and I wished them much success for many years to come… They deserve it with food made with this kind of love. You can tell they have a passion for their food. The meat kabobs were perfectly seared and cooked on a wood and coal fire… The true coal fire impart the backyard bbq and old world home cooked flavor. Try the tender beef kabob with the perfectly seasons bulgar wheat. I have traveled to Jordan and Isreal and this was the best food I have had hands down. Only bad thing is that I don’t live here but I will be stopping in again when pass nearby.

I was very surprised in how good the food was. This is a small restaurant in a strip mall that you would totally miss if you did not know what you were looking for. The value is amazing. For a good price, you get a large plate of good food. The Hummus is amazing. I was unsure of what I was ordering and the staff made some great recommendation. They are friendly and the restaurant is very clean. I recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food! We had early dinner. I had chicken shwarma, bulgur wheat, tabouli and an eggplant salad. My son had lamb kofta. Reasonably priced, clean and I liked that I could see them preparing the food. I wasn’t familiar with several of their dishes and they were great about letting us taste a variety of dishes before making a final choice.

A must try, gracious staff and really great food!!! Dine in or take out. We had chicken shawarma and steak kabobs. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get!

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff is incredibly friendly, we were made to feel welcome right from the minute we walked in the door. I was so pleased with how fresh everything was, and the selection of food was terrific. We ended up having a little bit a Schwarma, and kebab and Falafal! Let me say it again, everything was wonderful, and the staff was terrific. If I’m ever in the area I won’t hesitate to come again!

Visiting from Chicago and wanted to try this place out. Very friendly, good portions and the freshest kabob I’ve ever been served! Right off the coals and onto my plate! Yum! If you’re not sure about trying a new side, they’ll gladly give you a sample and explain the item! Give this place a try!

So glad I tried this place out! Chicken shawarma with all the fix-ins is the best. The falafel is the best in town! Eggplant turkish salsa is so good! Such great condiments and ideas to dress up any wrap or meal you want. Simple menu. Great prices. WOODFIREGRILLED. Best two guys behind the counter! So friendly and generous and genuine. Need I say more? Great addition to the area. Thanks Zuhair & Mustafa! :)

I did not have lunch and was hungry at around 3PM. I was in the area and pretty much randomly chose the nearest 5-star review restaurant on Unilocal.I am very happy with the choice. To be honest, I would never notice this great food if I never checked Unilocal. The exterior is low profile but the food is excellent! I ordered lamb kofta and it is so good! They make it one the wood fire grill right after you order. You will have to wait, but at least the kofta is totally worth the wait. The kofta is juicy and tasty. As for the side dishes, I especially like the eggplant side dish. My biggest regret of this visit is I did not get an extra skewer. I certainly will visit again!

This place is a gem hidden in an unassuming strip mall. Don’t judge by the exterior — head on in for fresh, delicious Mediterranean food! The entire experience is 5-star — friendly, helpful servers, a smattering of delicious dishes, and all at a great price. The free samples are a nice touch as well. We ordered two plates(chicken shawarma and chicken kabob) — both excellent but the beef kabob sample I tried also was incredible. You can’t go wrong with the sides either. Oh, and they cater. Would make a great place for a party platter!

Growing up in metro detroit, Mediterranean food is comfort food. The harder to pronounce, the tastier. This place really hit the spot. The menu is simple and straightforward. Just kabobs and sides. VERY reasonably priced as well. For $ 5.75 you can get a chicken shwarma plate with 3 full sides, plus pita bread and pickles and garlic sauce. We tried both the chicken shwarma and beef kabob. Both were incredible, the beef cooked to exactly medium as requested, and was so tender it cut easily with a plastic knife and fork. The service was great. The guys working the counter were immediately friendly and invited us to taste anything we wanted. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant in Lansing. Great job guys!

Holy Shawarma this place is badass! My new favorite spot for all things amazing. The hummus is great the pita is a little thin but I don’t care. The egg plant salad side was smokey and delicious. The rice pilaf was every bit as good as my Armenian mom made me growing up but better flavor. Don’t tell mom. The guy behind the counter was nice and was not afraid to take me under his wing and feed me right. Next time I go back I want to try the beef kabob but I’m not sure I can pass that chicken with garlic sauce up.

Stopped by at the recommendation of a friend and was so glad I did! First off, the staff here is the nicest. I told them it was my first time here so I didn’t know what I wanted to order. They then proceeded to give me multiple samples and suggestions. I had a morsel of the chicken shawarma and it was good. But I opted for the lamb kofta, baba ganoush, salad and the soslu patlican(eggplant dish). All the meats were prepared fresh so you could see them cooking. And they just do nice touches like finish off my baba ganoush with a bit of oil, a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds, and a dash of herbs. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I wish they were closer to my side of town.

This place is delicious and a great deal for your money. The guys who work there are super friendly and are more than happy to give out samples. I have always gotten the chicken kabob plate and my husband gets the chicken shawarma. Both are so tasty! At some restaurants the chicken shawarma can seem like a lesser meat than the kabob. The shawarma here is top notch! Best Mediterranean food in Lansing.

I went to Choupli for the first time with a bunch of friends from the Mid Michigan Food Club this past Wednesday. This place was wonderful. I had the lamb kofta and falafel — both were tasty. Often kafta is very dry but here it is moist and tender. It likely has to do with the fact that the meat goes from the marinade to the fire to the plate in record time . Other members of the club had schwarma and other options — they loved it. The owners were really fantastic and not only gave us samples as we went through the line(the arrangement is like Chipotle), they also brought our table of eight free bowls of falafel, eggplant in spices, and hummus. And we never told them we were with a club so this was not special treatment — rather it was just how they treat their customers! Definitely try this place out if you can!
