The food was excellent. Our server was very attentive. There were deals for food and drinks. What more do you need?! Definitely will be returning to try more items from the menu.

Who doesn’t love JB’s, I DO. Always good but, make a reservation; always crowded. Love their fresh salads, and Specials are usually exceptional. Appetizers start the meal off with a bang. Drinks are good and portions on food & drinks sized ‘right’. BEST Ribs around and my hubby is not easy to please; he loves the ribs, ask for extra napkins, they are messy.

Food is ok. Staff has always been friendly. Feel like the lighting is to dark the couple times I have been here. This restaurant is really close to me but often skip over this place when figuring out where to go.

J.B. Dawson is great for a nicer night out than just the usual! I love how there is always someone to help you! I am a huge fan of french onion soup and I do no like this one because there is no cheese, only sprinkles of cheese its«onion soup» I would recommend trying to go old fashioned! steaks are normally really good! Also maybe more options for desserts!

The menu here is versatile; one can enjoy ribs, seafood, chicken or vegetarian dishes without sacrificing on flavor! I especially enjoy the rotisserie chicken. The soups vary and seasonal specials are available. Happy hour is at the bar area only.

Been there 3 times and the food has always been amazing. Never had to wait too long for food or to be seated. The staff is also great

Met a friend here tonight for a few drinks and food. I’ve never been here before and really liked it. It has a nice rectangle bar and was lively and hopping on a Friday night. Had a few glasses of wine and ordered the fish tacos and fries. You get your choose of sides. The fish tacos were spicy and absolutely delicious. Three very hearty flakey fish tacos were served(I’m thinking they were mahi) The women next to me had ordered the chicken tenders dinner. It was huge. So many enormous crispy breaded chicken pieces were served and she said they were absolutely delicious. She clearly had meals for the next several days. I will definitely be back here.

So after my last review I decided to give JB Dawson’s another go… actually several! Glad I did as it is now included in our local rotation of spots to go to. I have since tried several other dishes and have been impressed! Their salmon is the best in the vicinity and done perfectly… I eat it plain(with their creamy dill sauce) or better yet on a salad. I have tried their Oscar filet and that too was rather yummy, lump crab meat was on point. I also had the pleasure of tasting my husband and daughters dishes: ribs are good, twisted shrimp(in my daughters words if she could pick one thing to eat for the rest of her life — she’s 10 it would be that) and crab cakes — all good. Sides such as mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and Cole slaw all yummy as well. Also the garlic peppercorn ranch dressing is beyond great and I’m actively trying to mimic it at home… I will definitely be going back for their salmon… can’t get enough of it and the way they prepare. So many places f$@* up salmon — it’s not hard to and I have never had salmon from JB’s I didn’t like they cook it perfectly and it’s a nice portion size.

The food is really good for what it is, especially the ribs. A nice selection of bar drinks, and consistently good service. The restaurant earns the four star rating. However, the place gets mobbed to such a degree that we hardly ever go there except on a Monday or Tuesday. So be warned that unless you are okay with long waits, you might want to entertain other options.

I’ve been here a few times and love a few things, but seem to always be disappointed by a few as well. The pineapple express drink is by far the best thing I’ve had there, with a close second being their bruschetta! I do like their prime rib, but twice in the last few times I’ve been there, they’ve been sold out by 7PM. I know it’s a «here until it’s not» sort of item on the menu, but maybe make more? The times I was forced to order something else, my meals have been adequate, at best. For a steakhouse of thier calbier I expect a bit more. But overall, an okay experience.

Consistently delicious. Simple but clever menu executed to perfection. Don’t come here for the latest trends but come here if you want a spotless, relaxed atmosphere without the fuss.

Fantastic service. Made a reservation for 7:15pm on a Friday and was seated by 7:17pm. Everyone from our service to other servers who were helping out were awesome. The spicy shrimp was so delicious. Steaks were cooked go out liking. Overall an awesome place for date night.

Despite the hour long wait on Friday night, J.B. Dawson’s in the Flowers Mill Shopping Center was worth the wait. Normally, I would see the waiting room crowd and listen to the hostess’s lament of the wait time, and walk out immediately. For some reason, my intuition counseled patience, so I took the radio buzzer they handed me, and found three seats to settle in. The bar was packed with Friday Happy Hour folk getting their zip on, and the two HDTVs in the waiting area were soundlessly tuned to Disney Channel and ESPN. No one seemed to be paying attention, and the peeps around me were all conversing or buried in their smartphones. The time passed quickly, and we were eventually led to a corner booth in the barroom. Our server introduced herself, took drink orders and came back promptly to take our order. We wanted to share the Baby Back Rib and Chicken Tender plate, while young man went with his standard Cheeseburger and Fries. Dinner took a little while due to the packed house, but not so long as to become an issue. When it arrived in the hands of a different server, we beheld a half rack of Baby Backs nicely browned and caramelized on top, and a larger pile of Tempura coated white meat Chicken, plus sides of Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Spiced Apples. I began to salivate involuntarily as the aroma of the BBQ sauce hit me. I hoped the first bite would be as seductive. It was more than that. The meat easily pulled from the bone. The taste was very good, and the texture just chewy and tender enough to be completely satisfying. Although there was very little meat left on the bones, I found myself sucking on them to capture every last bit of BBQ taste. If anything, the Chicken Tenders were even better and a much bigger surprise. They were big strips of never frozen chicken, breaded in a Tempura style, that were juicy, lightly crunchy and delicious. The small mound of Mashed Taters were a nice complement to the more exciting pig and bird, but did a great job absorbing whatever sauce was stuck to the plate. The Spiced Apple was yet another change of directly with its tartness and heat. I did not see a smoker on the premises, nor smell it at work, but regardless of how the meal was prepared, the execution was high end and the experience very solidly worth a return visit.

How does this place not have higher ratings? The price is right for the offerings, the atmosphere is great with sophisticated dark woods, the service is always outstanding and friendly, and the food, of course the food, is consistent and delicious. The one downfall is that they do not accept reservations during the weekends. I find that very odd, what place doesn’t take reservations for parties 6 or more? I was disappointed when my parents were in town and wanted to have a «meeting of the parents» dinner with my bf’s family — shame we couldn’t have it there due to the no reservations during weekend policy. So keep that in mind. They have daily specials, one of the most popular being the AYCE ribs. While I haven’t done the AYCE, I have had the ribs, they are meaty, fall off the bone, finger lickin’ good! As Steven B. mentioned, the chicken tenders are amaaazzinnggg. I’ve never had a chicken tender quite like that, but I get why they call them tenders now… cause the way JB Dawson does them — the chicken stays juicy and TENDER. Their mashed potatoes are something else! I HATE mashed potatoes, but could eat a side of these for sure. The complimentary bread and honey butter is fresh, smells great and really gets your mouth watering for dinner. Again, service has always gone without issue — smiles and friendliness anytime we’ve gone. They have a shared service model, so if you see any server — grab them and they will help you, it doesn’t have to be the main person who waits on you. I’m glad to be able to add JB Dawson’s to our dinner rotation!

The bartender was great. There was a 45 min wait for stable but we opted for a seat at the bar and we were greeted with cold drinks and a big smile from Brian(I think that was his name) he had our appetizers out with the quickness and our platters out quickly after. We will be back to see Brian. Go Brian Go Brian Go Brian

Went to JBD’s with my wife, son and his girlfriend last night. They were in town for our daughter’s wedding and this was our last dinner before they flew back to Lafayette, LA. We have been here before but I never took the time to write a review. I also used to take my youth soccer team here after a particularly significant victory, or loss. The food is very good for a chain. The service is very good for a chain. The ambience is much better than any other chain except perhaps higher end chains such as Capital Grille. Price is reasonable. Our dinner was great. We were greeted by a delightful server and ordered drinks, a martini for me and a specialty cocktail the name of which I do not recall for my wife. The drinks were very good. I can’t remember ever getting so many Gorgonzola stuffed olives, ever. The youngsters ordered non alcoholic as they were heading out after dinner. The floor manager stopped by after the table was cleared to ask how it all was — an important touch. We got the ribs. My son ordered a filet. His friend got pasta, a crab Alfredo. All were very good. In sum, food«B», service“A”, ambience«B», price«B». We will definitely be back. Mark & Nancy.

We took a break from Sesame Place and ate some real food here before heading back to Elmo for a final beating, aka: The Sesame Parade and Fireworks show. If this wasn’t the sweet haven of amazingness between furry monsters and sweat, I really cannot attest to what the heck a sweet haven is. I ate steak, delicious steak, instead of a grilled cheese at Elmo-Bites. Because I found out that Elmo can really bite. He is a monster after all. The servers are so great with kids and yet you sit in that swanky dark mahogany bar atmosphere and feel like you are human again after a day at Sesame Place. I actually think JBDAWSON’s is the reason we went back after our dinner. I downed my steak and two beers, looked at my adorable 3 year old who was quietly coloring on the kid menu they have, turned to my husband and said, «Wanna be parents of the year, and take her back to see the parade?» Swiftly, he responded, «Let’s do it. Go big or go home.» All the waitstaff works together here too. I don’t know if they pool tips, but it’s like some sorta family feeling they give you as if the waitress’ big brother just took over her shift so she could go help mom in the kitchen. So rare to find fast, efficient, and dependable hosting like that in a restaurant these days. Being from New York City and eating at an array of places over the years(with plenty of annoyed waitstaff), this place reminded me of Gorgios of Gramercy in terms of atmosphere and service. And it was child friendly which always scores well with me. My only constructive criticism: my newborn has a dairy allergy and an overwhelming majority of the dishes and sides have butter, milk, or cheese in them. They made me a beautiful plate of steak, but all the higher priced sides I was supposed to get, I could not have. So I paid the same amount for two less filling sides… basically steamed broccoli(which was actually amazing) and fries. An additional side of something small like corn or rice, would have made it even-steven. But I loved my meal. I’d go back.

This is one of those Restaurants that are hidden! When I seen JB, Dawson’s on Unilocal.I had to try it. All the food looked good. Desided to go one night for dinner. And try it out. When I arrived was not many people in the restaurant. But if say that their was. Sure is plenty of seating to sit. Till you get taking. It was a great experience for me. The food was good. I had the ribs and chicken tenders, with Cole slaw and mashed potatos. I don’t know what they do to their chicken fingers but their the best around. And on the kids menu. The mini hot dogs and fries we’re good, And their French onion soup is a must get. It’s good. But with many places they melt a glob of cheese on top, this is shredded melted cheese, and get a big bowl of it to. Ask for their bread loaf when ordering. It comes out hot from the over and hits the spot. You don’t just have one waitress they all work together which is great, so when you need refill or etc you don’t have to wait for just one waitress. If you’re their to just have a few drinks their is a full size bar area with some big size TV’s. I recommend this place, And can’t wait to go back again for dinner!
