Sweet potato chips! They were gone in a flash! I had a craving for margaritas, but being Cinco de Mayo, there wasn’t much of a chance I’d find a seat at a good Mexican restaurant. And I wasn’t really feeling On The Border in Neshaminy. It’s under this guise that my coworker told me about Cheeseburger in Paradise — the first time I’d ever heard of such a place. What a horrible Jimmy Buffet fan I am! Their margaritas hit the spot!(on the rocks with salt — the only way to go!) And my ‘garnimal’ was quite a treat. The citrus jalapeño wings were more citrus-y than jalapeño-y. If I get them next time, I’ll ask for more of the citrus-jalapeño sauce inlieu of ranch dressing. But I’ll mostly try something different next time. And did I mention the sweet potato chips? The copa banana… it’s hard to go bananas over pudding from a can — at least that’s how it tasted. The cocoa rica cake is so rich — it’s chocolatey paradise. Yeah… there’ll definitely be a next time for Paradise.

A group of us stopped by this past weekend; there were 4 of us(myself, my boyfriend, and his friend with his girlfriend) When we got there, we were told it was a 20 minute wait. So we tell them, we’re going to wait at the bar and the girl says«So I’ll take your name off the list then?» Not the brightest crayon in the box was she? But we sat at the bar and each ordered a drink while we waited. Rob and I each got the Sky Juice drink(Blue Curaçao, Sprite, and your choice of spirit with cream of coconut) The bartender told us the Sky Pineapple was the most popular so we tried it and it was awesome! Plus, our drinks were so strong that by the time we got our table about 5 – 10 min later, we were already starting to feel the effects! The food was decent; the two guys and other girl ordered burgers(or in her case, burger sliders) while I had shrimp and french fries. But it all pales in comparison to what I ordered for dessert: warm apple crisp! Was it the best I’ve ever had? Nah. but I was so excited that it was an option that I didn’t really care. It’s a fun place if you’re with a group of friends or something; it’s almost the beach version of a burger joint.

CBIP is an awesome apps & drinks place on a warm summer night. They’ve got these bizarre fried pickles that are phenominal.(Their Bayou Crab & Spinach Dip is pretty great too!) Add to that their frou-frou specialty drinks… and you have a party. The Lady of the Sea is a mix of Rum Runner, Pina Colada & Strawberry Daquiri that I could probably drink for the rest of my life. I hear they need to work on some of their basics(the burgers? why can’t you do them right CBIP, really?) But if you choose wisely — and perhaps I’ve been lucky — The Costa Rican Steak Wrap is very tasty, as is the El Cubano. Good salads — desserts too. Their prices are a little high in my opinion — but it’s fun to go there for a change of pace to get that Carribean flavor — which isn’t really easy to find in Fairless Hills!

I came here on a Friday night and the restaurant was pretty dead. I had the chesapeake bay burger(substituted the regular burger patty with a veggie patty) with fries and a mango sangria. First off, I was very disappointed with the sangria. It was not mixed well and was served in a small pitcher with ice… and then a small glass filled with ice. How much more ice do I need to dilute the wine? And there was no fresh fruit inside of the sangria. The burger was extremely dry. The bread was flaky and fell apart. The fries were mediocre. When I asked for a refill of fries, it took 10 minutes which was ridiculous considering how empty the restaurant was. This just reminded me why I never came back the first time. Never again.
