One of my favorite burger places to go to. I wish they had a bigger parking lot since sometimes it’s really crowded. But, it’s worth it. Their food and service is excellent. We love coming here! I wish there was one in Gatesville!

This burger joint is good– a fast food burger joint. No frills, no thrills just a good old fashioned burger. Burger a hand crafted party served well done. I tried the sourdough burger, it’s a $ 2 up charge for this bun. Very unique bun and worth a try but $ 2 seems a little pricey for a sourdough bun on a 1⁄3 lb burger. This burger runs you $ 6.89. The only meal is a triple patty, ½ lb, burger with fries for $ 7. So yeah– ½ meal for the price of one sourdough burger. The French fries were a big disappointment– some fries crispy, most greasy and limp with under cooked potatoes inside with no flavor. The sweet potato fries were better, but not great. Sides are all sold separately($ 1.99 for fries, sweet potato fries, and spicy curls), $ 2.99 for onion rings. They do have additional sides/appetizers too. Overall this place is pretty pricey for a fast food burger joint that offers good food, but not great food. Two sourdough burgers with fries ran me $ 19.23!!! Too much for fast food. Definitely better than McDonalds, Burger King, etc., but not as good as Whataburger.

Make darn sure to show up by 10 if you want to order breakfast, because if you show up at 10:20 you’ll be turned down by someone rude over the intercom. Says on the sign(plain as the nose on my face) the breakfast is served until 10:30. By my understanding that would mean 10:30…not 10:20. Anyway it gets 2 stars because the food is at least good. Sure do miss Kenneth because he wouldn’t have let the smart mouth inside turn anyone away from breakfast at 10:20. So sad Storms ain’t what it used to be.

I’ve been a Storm’s convert since 1983 or so, and have never been disappointed in all of those 32 years. The perfect ‘burger joint’ hamburger, always hot never soggy fries, excellent shakes and ice cream treats. what more could you want? Location is right in the middle of the 183 strip, easy to get to and always great food. Storm’s has been in business for over a half century now, and is as much a part of the landscape as limestone and mesquite brush. The real deal!

The first Storm’s in Texas dates back to 1873 when William Washington Storm built a stagecoach stop and post office in Wood County. Yes, this is that kind of place. Good olé’ famous Texas burgers that date back to the 1800’s. Their burgers are like nothing I have ever tasted. I get the double meat mini burger on sourdough. It cost extra to get sourdough, but it really worth it. The patties themselves are thin, but still remain juicy. The cheese melts perfectly. Their french fries are great and always hot. They have a setup similar to Sonic at this location. You can drive up and to an order station or order in an outdoor seating area. This is a Texas road trip staple that is worth the stop.

I thought this place was amazing! I’m so bummed that it’s 45 minutes away from where I live because that would be my go-to food run ace 9 times out of 10! Great food, good service and great atmosphere. Loved it!

Classic. Been around for ages and there’s a simple reason why. Great food, decent prices, friendly customer service. That formula for success shouldn’t be that difficult, but for most it is. Storms is one of the few places that has that formula just right. Slightly crisped grilled just right thin beef patties with ooey gooey melty American cheese, grilled bun, and fresh veg work together for one of the best burgers you’ll ever have. Pair that with crisp fresh French fries, curly fries, onion rings, or one of my family’s favorites… cheesy tater tots! Grab a good ol fashioned fountain drink like the ever popular Dr. Pepper or my favorite Big Red and call it a day. A good day. This place is a classic, a staple, a tribute to good ol fashioned American food done right. Right here in little sleepy Lampasas. It’s worth the drive, or the quick stop while passing through and if you’re a Lampasaian… you already know how good you’ve got it.

The quintessential hamburger drive-in… big, juicy, old-fashioned burgers, great fries… this is the drive-in you compare all others to. … It’s the best. … Whenever I drive through Lampasas, I always grab a Storm’s.

First time visitor and we ordered fries, onion rings and a large dr pepper. Our food was Luke warm at best, fries were soggy from grease and our soda was all ice. Luckily the onions were Devine. Our carhop was confused with the change and she forgot to give us our bag of food– I had to ask for it. I don’t foresee a trip back.

You want the BEST hamburger in this area, come here. It’s the old fashion kind… you know, the one that drips down your elbow and you really try to eat it slow to savor all the taste, but you can’t because it tastes so good… yeah, that’s the kind you’ll receive here. Don’t forget their fountain drink. You’ll love this place!!!

I have been driving through Lampasas for many years and Storms is a place I recommend. I find the frito pie to be particularly good. Even on a very busy day they seem to have your order to you quickly.

This is a two day review(6 – 05 and 6 – 06), as I visited this place on my way TO Killeen(from San Angelo) with my family, and then visited it again on my back home. All in all, the family and I decided that we are all FANS of Storm’s, as they offer a decent variety of tastefully-prepared, typical fast food items, at decent prices. On Day #1, my wife and daughter both tried the chicken tenders, and substituted the sweet potato fries for the regular ones. Good call on their part(more about the regular fries later). The chicken tenders were white meat fillets that were breaded with right there at Storms, and then deep-fried to perfection. They were served with hellaciously thick cream gravy that I liked more than my wife(my daughter loved hers, however). The sweet potato fries were very enjoyable and the serving size was quite ample. The cole slaw was a sweet variety(think of KFC) that tasted well enough. Overall grade — 4 stars. My Sonic Special was a big, greasy meat-and-cheese bomb! While I loved the flavor of that combination, I am also a lover of the veggies that come on top of the burger, and here the burger disappointed me. The tomato slice(slices???) was thin and the shredded lettuce was hardly noted(and unfortunately not tasted). This burger was obviously built with«carnivore-dude» in mind, and not omnivores such as myself. Burger Grade — 3 Stars. My side order of french fries were more of a disappointment. While the serving size again was ample, the flavor and texture of Storm’s fries reminded me of the fries that 5 Guy’s sells … sort of crunchy on the outside, but still soft inside … in other words, BLECH. French fry grade — 1 star. On the following day, I returned alone, and this time opted to try the Cordon Bleu burger and the hot apple pie. For me, today’s visit was much, much better. The deep fried apple pie’s tasted like the ones that I grew up eating … yum! The Cordon Bleu burger was your typical double cheese burger(with lettuce and tomato) however the little bit of ham that was wedged between the burger patty’s was absolute, salty-heaven! Who thinks of these things? Overall grade — 4 stars. So, overall between the two days, I would give Storm’s 3.5÷5 stars, but since I enjoyed Saturdays meal so much, I opted to average up to four stars! Storm’s drive in … worth the visit IMO(thank’s Diane K for the recommendation)!

So my family and I were first introduced to Storms in Burnet. It was the best food I have ever had at a burger joint so I decided to hit up the one in Lampasas one day while there on business. The service was slow and unfriendly. Ok fine, it was busy. I ordered fried okra and a cheeseburger with sourdough bread. I had a 20 minute drive home and the food stayed fresh and delicious. So why the bad review? A few bites into my burger, I felt something funny in my mouth. I pulled it out and it was a freaking piece of metal. How the heck does a moderate sized piece of metal get into a burger and not noticed. I am so thankful that I didn’t swallow it!

I’m not sure why there are such negative reviews. This is a car hop guys… not gourmet! But, it’s a great little local burger joint. I had the Sourdough Burger and a full order of fries. It was all great. The meat appeared to be a hand made patty. The fries were hand cut. It was very good. In fact, most places aren’t nearly this good even ‘gourmet’ places. I’m not from around here, but I hope to be back soon!

With the way the world moves forward nowadays, it seems almost logical that good ‘olé places like Storm’s would disappear thanks to the overpopulation of McDonald’s and other grotesque clones of terrible food. But, hello Storms, it still exists! My little party and I pulled up, checked out the amazingly cheap menu, ordered without a hitch, and waited patiently for our food to arrive. Everything was perfectly fast food, side-of-the-road perfection and I’m so glad that Storm’s doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Now granted, I’m a little bit of a gourmet snob and fast food is usually avoided with prejudice, but since my road trip party chose the location, I just went with it. This isn’t gourmet burgers or gourmet anything, but it’s the best version of fast food. So with that said, it holds a special little place in my heart because all places like it are fast disappearing as a piece of American culture. Skip McDonald’s and go to Storm’s!!!

Every small town should have one. Great menu options. Hot greasy food. Yummy burgers! Friendly server. Makes Sonic seem«bleh!» Keep up the good work!

It’s close to my hometown Burger joint so it liked it. Fast, comfort food. Burgers are greasy and yummy. Thin patties so get a double. Curly fries are amazing, add cheese! Don’t forget to top it off with a frosted coke!
