I look forward trips to the hill country, just so that I can stop in the Lampasas square for lunch at Eve’s. It’s hard to find German food this good anywhere. The Wiener schnitzel with spätzle and an awesome salad is my winner! This has been one of my favorites for over 10 years!

Enjoyed it so much. It was very busy so we did wait a little longer than we should have but it was worth it. The help was very pleasant and get the chocolate pie! It was delicious. Homemade buttermilk dressing with fresh dill was sooo good.

This place is absolutely great! Made a quick recharge-stop while driving to Colorado and it was a pleasant surprise. A nice cozy little shop with good food and pleasant service.

Thank you Unilocal and thank you Eve’s. Passing through town and saw Unilocal review so gave it a try. Jäger schnitzel was fantastic. Also the sandwiches. Service was fast, wait staff was friendly and prompt, food was awesome and prices are reasonable. Will definitely stop again when in the area.

Eve’s café makes you feel like a local the instant you arrive. The welcoming atmosphere, amazing German cuisine and cold beer makes this a definite MUSTSTOP when traveling through Lampasas. I am a Native Texan and this is on my most recommended locations for a great beginning and end to any Texas road trip.

Wow!!! Authentic German food. Love the décor too! Enjoyed their schnitzels, red cabbage, and potato salad. If you can, leave room for their Black Forrest cake. Enjoy!

I’m glad we checked Unilocal before driving through Lampasas on our way to Sweet Berry Farm. I had the Curry Wurst with hot curry ketchup, French fries and red cabbage. My husband had Schnitzel topped with fried eggs, spaetzle and red cabbage while our toddler had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with chips and chocolate milk. We each tried each other’s food and it was all delicious. Our son liked the spaetzle so I think I’ll order that for him next time we go so he can eat something authentic. I could probably eat the Curry ketchup on everything I normally eat with ketchup.

What a hidden gem in the little town of Lampasas. Fantastic German food — like schnitzel, spaetzke and strudel to name a few incredible things on their menu. Service was outstanding, friendly and hospitable. It is off the beaten path but is well worth the visit. The dining room is small so that may be the reason for the reservation link on the main Unilocal page.

The food was excellent! You won’t be disappointed with this restaurant. Try the Wiener Schnitzel! And the deserts are all good.

I absolutely adored this place, and was lucky to come here while passing through a few months ago(I remember the name by heart, it’s that good). I had a rahm snitzel(I loved the«rahm gravy»(cream mushroom sauce) — on top of the spatzle, it tasted like mushroom stroganoff! The spatzle wouldn’t have been interesting otherwise), and it was all hearty, delicious, big portioned, and blew me away. My companions’ dishes were just as good as they could have been with the rahm gravy. ;) I had a sort of double date, and the waiter immediately teased my friend’s date by telling him no phones allowed on dates, and he was a wonderful warm welcome to this small town. There was a pamphlet on the table that outlined some key shops to check out in the area and general news/trivia to keep you busy. Cute. Items of cultural significance were hanging from the walls/ceiling– marionettes/puppets, some were a bit creepy, but I’ll take it as giving the place«character» One star deducted because there wasn’t running water in the bathroom– and you can deduce more from that, although they did manage to get water in some form to cook, obviously. We had hand sanitizer on us, but it’s a huge nono that I wouldn’t tolerate from any other place. I highly doubt that you live here, so chances are, you’re not going to be in the location again, so please, please make the time to drive over. It’s wonderful. I would absolutely go out of my way to come here again. Bonus: The day I went, outside the restaurant on the handicap ramp was an 80+ step hopscotch some stubborn person had drawn. 80+ STEPS! I was charmed.

Fantastic German food. And the chocolate mocha cake baked by our cook/waitress was outstanding. Would give it ten stars if we could.

Stopped by spontaneously driving from sweetwater to Austin. So glad we did! Yager schnitzel, spätzle and German beer on tap — all excellent! This will become a standard stop for us.

This place was fabulous, a little gem on the square. Great food and service! We will be coming back when we drive back through going to the hill country. Great for children!

The food is usually pretty good here but I don’t go often because the owner’s husband is so rude. I witnessed him being dismissive to a very elderly couple and have been on the receiving end of his sarcasm more than once. I want to support our local businesses but he makes it difficult.

I was cold. I was wet. I was tired. When I used Unilocal,I learned the diner in front of me was awful. Then I learned Eve’s across the square was supposed to be good. Eve’s had friendly people, good coffee, a mighty fine jagerschnitzel, and those good little German pasta noodle things that I forget the name of. Kugel maybe? I can’t remember. And the green beans were cooked down with bacon and mighty tasty. I got cranberry cheesecake to go and enjoyed it immensely the next day. If you find yourself in Lampasas and need food, try Eve’s. It has that small town but funky cool café vibe and the food is awesome.

Oh my gosh, stop here and eat. On the square in Lampasas, it kind of off the beaten path(highway) so you have to actually go «downtown» to find this jewel. Certainly not a hole in the wall, but probably a mom and pop place that everyone loves. Glenda got a sandwich and I got schnitzel with a side of spätzle. German heaven. The food was definitely 4 star, but now it’s dessert time. The apple and cherry strudel were definitely 6 star. The best I have ever had. I’ll go back just for that. When we left, we took some of the large soft pretzels to the kiddos. Crispy, yet soft and warm, they were great. More please! See you there.

The town square was a bit dreary when we visited and many of the nearby stores are closed and this is several blocks off the main highway so we wouldn’t have found it without Unilocal. Not a fancy place and has a fairly small seating area. A wonderful selection of schinitzels and deserts. The tossed salad is served with a house salad — a creamy dill. Large portions — including that of the Red Cabbage. Deserts are all made here as well. Very reasonably priced for authentic German fare! We found the service to be good and owners friendly …

Had a super delicious Reuben, seriously it was to die for. Took a while to come out, but you can’t rush art. They also had some really killer looking cheesecake in the display, but I was too full to try any. Would like to come for dinner some time and go all out with a meal, beer, and dessert.

Awesome. Right on the square. Small so be prepared to wait. The orange — dreamsicle cheesecake dessert is worth the trip.
