Whenever I come here I always get good vibe. The atmosphere feels very warming and it makes me feel close to Hawaii, where I was born and raised. The food is very good and the price is not too bad. I would come here more often if I lived closer.

I think this place is great! Many people seem to think the food isn’t fresh, but every time I get my plate it’s steaming and smells delicious. The cashiers are sweet and the food is delicious. The place is clean as well. My go to for some bomb Hawaiian bbq! Get some!

Terrible! Me and my brother had take out lunch, got home my brother who ordered hamburger steak with chicken katsu and I ordered loco moco with fried fish and our patties we’re over cooked, burnt! It was just nasty and I threw the patties out! So when I called to report it, I was asked to bring plates back and this is not the first time this happened. Terrible just terrible service!

Man! I love this restaurant. Food is always freshly cooked and the taste is out of this world. The short ribs are the best. Is addicting!

Not only is Lakewood L&L bullshit fake Hawaiian food, they didn’t give me what I paid for and then told me they would give me a discount for next time & call me back. I offered to go in and show her my food was wrong but told her I had taken an über and she said it was unnecessary. Then I call back and they say since I didn’t come in I can’t get a refund. Wow. The woman who picked up the phone the second time told me I was wrong(literally said I was wrong) and that they asked the cook and they know they put all the food in there . I work at Pizza Hut, you never tell a customer they were wrong and that you know something when you don’t. I spent $ 30 on food and didn’t even get the best part and then I was told I’m wrong When I called for the manager I was put on fake hold(she put the phone down on the counter) and I heard the woman say«it’s her«then they made me wait 3 minutes, picked it up and said the manager was at the«store err bank«both are located in the towne center so thanks for the run around. I wouldn’t even give them one star . BADBUSINESSANDBADFLAVORLESSFOOD.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and never had a bad experience with L&L! Every time I come here I always order the delicious curry chicken katsu! Me writing this review wants me want to go back now and eat it again! The staff are very friendly and I would highly reccomend the food. I would give it a 5 stars but the only problem I have was the bathrooms they aren’t always cleaned neither was the tables.

I’ve eaten here 2 or 3 times. The most recent visit was with a friend because we wanted to drool over each other’s cars lol. The establishment is clean and walls are bright with color. I always get the chicken katsu here and am never disappointed. The portion are large and I always have food to take home. Not a huge fan of macaroni salad but I ate some here and it had too much mayo. My friend had the Kalua pork. He liked it and I thought it was just ok. Overall, it was a good lunch and I would recommend.

I would give this place 3 stars because they don’t sell malasadas. What the hell! What kind of broke ass islander joint in the 253 of all places doesn’t sell malasadas!?! Whatever. They get an extra star for the loco moco and haupia cake.

I was craving musubi so we stopped and got the assorted musubi trio with a side of mac. Too much rice in the musubi. The seaweed can’t even keep everything together because of the amount of rice. I ended up squeezing a bunch out of each roll just to make it possible to take a bite. The katsu and teri chicken were flavorful, and ya can’t mess up the deliciousness that is Spam, so flavor wise, it was on point. The mac salad was meh. Too much mayo, and just wasn’t as good as you get in Hawaii.

I LOVE L&L! I am a local island girl born and raised in Ewa Beach, HI. This place always takes me back … «take me back, back to da kine; take me back, take me back, back to da kine; all ova, mo bettah, Moloka’i I will return» :) The first thing I tried was the Mini Chicken Katsu Curry, it tasted delicious! The only thing I didn’t like was how small the serving portion was for rice. No offense or anything but in Hawaii, they load the to go plate UP with rice. Real islanders no this so it’s either these people aren’t from the island or they are just trying to make a LOT of money by charging EXTRA for rice. A Mini Katsu Curry plate came with 1 scoop rice and 1 small cup of macaroni salad, also I waited about 40 – 45 minutes for my order. From then on I started making phone orders and ordering all rice with sides of macaroni salad. The mac salad, LETMETELLYOUISAMAZING! I don’t know if my taste buds are okay but I felt like their Mac salad is better than the L&L’s in Hawaii! So I always order 3 sides of Mac salad just for me with my «all rice» plates. The second and every other time I came here I ordered the Regular BBQ Chicken plate: all rice, with 3 sides of Mac salad. INCREDIBLE I tell you. The only thing that drives me crazy is how inconsistent they can be when I place phone orders. Sometimes they put full scoops of rice and Mac salad, other times it looks like they’re trying to save money and give us teeny tiny scoops of each. That definitely is NOT the Hawaiian spirit and totally drives me bonkers but I can’t help but continue to come back because it truly is island flavor that I miss with all my heart. Sometimes I like to order musubi and they have so many choices! Spam of course is always amazing, but the Portuguese sausage is my favorite. My hubby likes the BBQ Chicken. If you’re from Hawaii and want a little taste of home, I recommend this L&L Hawaiian BBQ place. Hopefully they start giving more like they do in Hawaii but how can if they don’t have locals working in there. Because of the inconsistency I give this place four stars, great food but they don’t always give you the quantity that you pay for.

This is where I go for good old junk food Hollie style. Musubi Spam Rice Kimchee! Plenty of Shiracha sauce !!! Comfort food the island way. All we’re missing is the Salami and Macadamia nuts! Good food. Friendly staff.

Seriously some of the best food you can eat! :) I go here sometimes 3 – 4 times a week on lunch since it is close to work. The food is ridiculously good, from the BBQ Mix plate if you can’t decide, to the Kaluha Pork w/cabbage(Wow!). The beef, beef ribs and chicken individually are all great choices. They have musubi & lumpia if you love that sort of thing, I do. :D I always mix it up when I go, never get anything bad and a few of the employees are super friendly and take good care of me every time I go! One of my favorite places overall.

If you’ve never had Hawaiian food this may be a little strange to you — why put a fried egg over a beef patty over white rice and smother it with brown gravy?! LoL! Well, I am not Hawaiian but I lived there for three years and it’s a funny thing, when I was there I tried to avoid chain restaurants, but now I’ll take what I can get. And L&L is the best I can get here. But that’s not to say the food isn’t good! Today’s visit was my first since being in Lakewood area and it was a taste of home!(I say home because being in the military you have a new home every few years). I ordered the Lau Lau and got my wife Kalua pig each with an addition of a spam musubi. Both orders were delicious! The spam musubi brought back so many memories as they are to Hawaiian gas stations what hot dogs are to mainland gas stations. The Lau Lau was moist and delicious and had the butter fish in it. Tip: be sure to remove the outer tea leaves as they are not edible, but the tarot leaves are. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Kalua pig. It’s a wonderful thing how food can transport you to memories of good times and today’s lunch did just that. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

I’ve had l&l at other locations and absolutely loved it, except this location for some reasons the food just doesn’t taste or look fresh. And the staff is sorta rude. I would recommend this restaurant just not this location.

L&L would not have been my first choice back on Oahu but I am here and it’s a taste away from home. After eating almost the same food everyday for the past couple of weeks(we just moved), we needed to recharge. And what better way to than to get some local Hawaii food. Thank you L&L for setting up shop. Bf and I ordered two plates; chicken katsu and the laulau & kalua pork cabbage. Oh my! Their chicken katsu is bomb diggity. It’s actually better than the chicken katsu made back in Hawaii, dare I say. It’s very juicy and the portion sizes are large. My plate lunch(chicken katsu) included two scoops of rice, mac salad and 2 chicken katsu sauces. As for my bf, he enjoyed his laulau & kalua pork cabbage which also included a scoop of rice and mac salad. Will we return? Heck yes.
