Staff are as nice as you are to them. Busy location as any other book rental place when school starts. Refund policy and deadlines all over the place.

I seriously don’t understand how the same rude people are employed here. I can recall the first time I came to get books for school over a year ago. I knew the classes I was taking & names of my professors but wasn’t sure exactly which versions/authors of the books I needed. They seemed a little irritated they had to do a computer look-up for ONE book I was unsure of. I got a very condescending attitude, and in general, the notion that they like to make people feel dumb. Every time I come here, staff is rude. My husband turned in a book recently that was damaged when he received it & they charged him $ 45. Make sure you inspect the books you rent before leaving the store because they will charge you for damage – regardless if you caused it or not – when you bring it back. If you have ample(at least a week) time before class starts, I would recommend renting books from Amazon instead. It’s just as cheap, sometimes cheaper, and they ship right to your door-minus crappy attitudes. Save yourself the frustration.

If i could give it less i would. I originally thought Booksmart was decent, until a few days ago. Let me start with the good: Their rental prices are decent The bad: Their customer service is embarrassing. All those books on business and customer service I would think they could take notes. Lemme explain. I went on a Friday to pick up my textbooks for classes. On Saturday i realized i accidentally rented a text book for a course i was planning to take next semester.(Accidentally had the ISBN number with all my other textbooks.) That mess up on my part but i figured no big deal I’m sure they will take care of me on Monday, but they were closed for a holiday. No biggie once again. Went again on Tuesday before class and witnessed the worst case of customer service between the employee(a bitter older lady) talking down to the customer like he was stupid. I brushed it off with a «good morning» and explained my situation and asked if not a refund for store credit to buy supplies and what not. She told be the return day was on the 13th of the month. But i bought it on the 15th. After she showed no care in the world O decided to return my rental and never give them my business again. $ 35 rental not even an oh im sorry sir… I don’t understand, all i know is if you don’t want to be at least friendly, don’t be in retail or customer service. Ive worked in retail 5 years, now as a supervisor and do anything i can to help my customers because i know what it is to be the customer! At least with when anything silly happens they will happily offer you a refund. Stay away from this place!!!
