Love this little neighborhood place run by a bunch of local guys. Excellent fresh food, good thin crust pizza, friendly service and a nice unassuming and simple atmosphere. The menu is actually more diverse than you would think and ordering on line makes things nice and convenient. Like it love it support local business.

I had the thin crust pepperoni pizza, which was, like the service, average at best. I may be biased, but it’s hard to compete with one of the best pizza places in the area (Ferentino’s) right down the street. Overall, I’d walk down Western Avenue for the better pizza and experience.

Boneless Hot Wings:
–Asked for 3 orders of 8 wings and was short 4 wings.
–Wings were like Tyson chicken nuggets, where they didn’t even put the sauce on the wings
–Inside of the wings looked like packing peanuts
–To top it off found a hair in the wings
Stuffed Deep Dish Pizza
–Burnt crust
–A layer of what seemed like sandpaper or wet thin cardboard
–Bacon tasted like it was made a couple days ago
–Overall just did not look appealing
This was the worst pizza I have ever eaten.

I use Donatis in Mundelein for the Carmel Catholic Varsity football team every week and for St. Gilbert school hot lunch program. EVERY single person just LOVES it!!! They do sandwiches, pastas, pizza, salads — you name it! They are incredibly easy to deal with — very flexible, courteous and professional!!! Enough food to feed hungry football players — tasty enough to feed pre-​kindergarteners!!! Chicken bacon ranch is a FAVORITE!!! Use them for your next party, school or business function or family dinner!!!

Awesome gluten free pizza. Actually the best I’ve ever tasted and I just moved to LF from downtown. Way better GF pizza than anywhere in Chicago. It’s so nice to find this great spot that has small town friendliness but literally world class pizza. Will definitely be heading back there for more. Keep it up.

Walking in the restaurant, it looks cheap and dirty and customer service is non existent.
There are menus on the table so we thought one of the young ladies working behind the counter may come over to take our order. We finally walked to the counter to place our order — a large deep dish pizza. The pizza was disappointing — undercooked, subpar meat and vegetable toppings, and the sauce was bland.

i guess people are too stupid to realize how shitty this place is or they just dont care… who knows, all i know is my moneys not coming here again and wish this place lots of bad luck and hopes it goes out of businesss like it deserves too…

They have great pizza and sandwiches! If you don’t like any of that and want a salad, their ingredients taste really fresh! Not expensive either and are very kind people.

When I walked in there I was like ugh… what in God’s green earth is this place? Very boring atmosphere. So I decided to stay and ordered a thin crust pizza with sausage and pepperoni (well done)
I took a bite from the pizza and said to myself «This might be one of the best damn pizzas I’ve ever had!!!» I should never judge a book by its cover again shame on me, I will be going back again really soon for one of the best pizzas around!

This place is pretty good. We had the mozzarella salad and a thin crust half pepperoni half cheese. I read some of the other reviews about the cheese. We ordered extra cheese and it was ok. I think that’s the trick…“extra cheese”. They do deliver to navy housing and that gave them an extra star from me. Their vinaigrette sauce that came with that salad was good.

I order from here frequently at work. They are so awesome to work with. From the pizza to the bread to the calzones and the sandwiches… YUM!!! We also order our monthly meeting breakfast from here with the breakfast sandwiches and fruit tray with pastries and bagels and juice and coffee. You will not find a place to get a better bang for your buck for catered breakfast. I almost forgot about how much I love the North Shore Chopped Chicken Salad. :-) Get it!!!

Really good quality pizza, the ingredients seemed fresh.
The crust is pretty thin, and very crispy– so it’s great if you’re into that.
Less cheese than I prefer, but it makes it taste light. One piece doesn’t go very far if you’re just planning on having pizza, but maybe that was because it was too good to stop eating: P
Cool sports deco inside, but I think we’ll order take out next time. It’s in a nice area, too. Enjoyed the experience, I will probably go back.

I am not one to eat pizza often but Donati’s is really great for when that craving hits. Where else can you get a HUGE slice of cheese pizza for just $ 1.50? Just $ 3 for two slices of thin crust will more than fill me up for dinner. It’s cheap, it’s simple, it’s fast, and it comes out hot. I will miss Donati’s a lot when I move from this area!

I used to go to Donati’s when it first opened up in Lake Forest a couple years ago. Located a bit hidden in a strip retail location in the back, you can’t see it from the street, but there is free parking underground for the business. I really loved their classic style thin crust pizza by the slice for lunch. It is a true bargain and a huge slice.
There are a couple of tables available on the inside and a few tables outside which work for the warmer weather. This, however, is not really a restaurant, but does most business with take out, catering and delivery.
The sauce is tangy sweet with generous cheese and ingredients. Since this pizza was so tasty, we started ordering it to deliver in for late nights at work. Now that I’ve moved locations to Deerfield, we order it here to be delivered as well.
Everyone loves the pizza from work. It’s a higher quality and definitely a hidden gem of a place.
