Hotel is ok. Quite old and definitely needs a full renovation. Staff was nice.

Lumpy bed, sad breakfast :( Okay, so the«bed» I slept on was actually the pullout sofa, and the hot breakfast wasn’t awful, it just didn’t meet my expectations. The hotel was clean and the concierge friendly, and it was all thanks to my dad’s points that gave us a free night’s stay here. Since the rooms are ‘suite’ style, they come with a kitchenette, which is nice. The bathroom was HUGE! TV had all the good channels, but it also had an infernal blue light that wouldn’t turn off, even though the screen wasn’t on. The mattress on the pullout sofa was pretty pathetic, so it’s a good thing I’m used to crashing on random futons, otherwise I wouldn’t have slept at all. I was legit excited for a hot continental breakfast, but the only thing I had to be excited about was cocoa krispies. No bacon, no waffle maker, scrambled eggs were powdered… I think. If they were real, they came from one sorry-ass chicken. At least checkout was quick. Would rather stay elsewhere in the area; lord knows you’ve got a lot to choose from.

Even though this is relatively new, it’s already older looking. You know you are in trouble when the claim to fame is walking distance to a Cracker Barrel.(No, I did not visit Cracker Barrel.) It’s clean and cheap and I will admit the staff is super friendly. But some of our group has stayed in other places in the area and wouldn’t come here again. The air conditioners in the room are really noisy and turn on and off constantly. Since the one in the bedroom is aimed right at your bed, you are sometimes overcome with Mr. Freeze. It’s not horrible, but I gave the benefit of the doubt because of the free breakfast, the inexpensive price and the employees that work here.

I stay in this property about three weeks a year, sometimes four. If feels like home. The staff is always friendly and there is breakfast seven days a week plus dinner Monday — Thursday. Each room has a kitchen with a full size refrigerator, range top and utensils. The bedding and pillows allow for a very nice sleep. Each room as WIFI and two TV’s. Unless its changed, each room also contains two vcr’s, which you would think about today be dvd players. It is also close to a very nice mexican restaurant(el rodeo) plus others, including a cracker barrel, all of which you can walk to weather permitting. There is an indoor pool and workout room as well. It is a little pricy to stay there during weekends when Purdue plays a home game.
